great food. this restaurant has greatfreshtasting food. i got the shrimp tacos withfreshfried shrimp and their delicious guacamole sauce. the food was made to order and didn't take long. it is a great quick delicious bite to get before heading to the casino that everyone should try. oh and i forgot to mention this restaurant is very affordable with everything under 10 dollars.

felipe’s taqueria on n. peters is one of my favorite lunch spots during the work week. i particularly like their grilled vegetable or chicken burritos, tostadas, fish tacos, and chicken tortilla soup withfreshslices of avocado and crumbled cotija cheese. but recently i was feeling a little adventurous and when i saw “pork tamale” on the menu for $2.51, i figured the price (and time) was right for trying something new.

horrible/i am baffled at thie place's popularity. went went for a second try after an initial horrible experience a year ago. the line was almost out the door. the interior is welcoming enough and the prices are dirt cheap. other than that, this place is the worst mexican around. how other people like this place is stupefying. both times i have went they have been out of what i wanted, and both times i went during the lunch rush. the food is slopped together on a plate. the flauta's were as thin as pencils and dropped frozen into a deep fryer right in front of my face. they tasted stale. i asked for 3 different tacos and was told they didn't have the chicken i wanted. i amended my order but the guy who took my order didn't have a very good grasp of english and instead gave me 3 fish taco's. this is a cafeteria type slophouse like pancho's. garbage. i can't think of any mexican restaurant, including taco bell, that is worse than this place. i just don't get it.

much ado about nothing. i am a self proclaimed connoisseur of inexpensive mexican & latin fare, so it was with great anticipation that i ventured to felipe's last week for a quick lunch. after reading the overwhelmingly effusive reviews i was anticipating much more than what i ended up receiving. i was one of the first in line that day and decided to order a chicken taco, a chicken tinga taco, a carnita taco and an order of chicken flautas. the staff were friendly enough, although i was disappointed when i was told that the chicken tinga was not ready yet, despite it being the onset of the lunch rush. i asked for red onions and cilantro on my tacos, standard for any cantina taco, and the red onions were so bitter they were almost inedible. they over whelmed everything else on the taco and ruined them. the tortilla's themselves tasted stale and were not freshly made, as they are at the far superior pupaseria divina corona in nearby gretna. even chevy's, a chain steeped in mediocrity, pressesfreshtortillas for its entrees. the chicken flautas were very thin and were, i suspect, previously frozen before being dumped en masse into a cafeteria fryer. given its desirable locale and cheap prices it is not surprising that people would flock to this place, just don't expect very good food.

good burritos and drinks!. this is my favorite burrito place in new orleans so far. the burritos are yummy and cheap. they have a good variety for the drink menu and the drinks are madefresh(no sour mix here):) my only negative is the staff who make the burritos- they are pretty rude and they are literally slapping the ingredients on your burrito with bitterness that they are at work- oh well- maybe i just went on bad days. my suggestion would be to hire people who actually appreciate that they have a job:) anyway- overall very good!

perfection!. the one word to describe felipe's is: perfection! this stop was on recommendation of a friend. the food was absolutely wonderful, it was fast, everything had afreshtaste, watching themfreshcut the veggies for the food was nice and made me excited about the freshness. the prices are better than typical drive through stops. the menu is very detailed and the selection allow for making it your way. i would recommend this stop to anyone visiting the french quarter.
