a must visit in key west. recommended by locals here in key west you will not easily find this hidden gem by traveling the busy roads. tucked away with very little parking i was surprised to see how busy they get, even 8pm there was 5 min wait to get seated. i asked what the popular meal was they chose the siboney steak, yellow rice, plantains, black beans, cuban bread and a side of yucca fries. small portion does not exist here large meal everything was amazing except the service was a bit off they were super friendly with regulars (understandable). food was great i would comeback here again and you can not miss and visit when in key west.

fantastic cuban food. i'm not sure what people were expecting in terms of ambience (think local diner), but the food at this place was amazing. we've had home cooked cuban many times and tried dozens of cuban restaurants looking for the good stuff. this, friends, is the good stuff. puerco melted in your mouth, with a fantastic tamale on the side. probably the best friend plantains i've had in years. bf's ropa vieja was equally good, as was the moros. all for under $40 with tax, tip, beer, and a cafe con leche to end. we might go back for a second time this trip!

had the perfect lunch - amazing food and service. i had the shrimp in a tomato sauce. ended up asking for a spoon so i could finish up every last drop of the sauce. will go back again and again and again.

place rocks. when we went it was packed, but easy to get a seat. food was really good. a must go in key west. oh and you get what you pay for. a nice change for kw.

had the garlic shrimp and it was definitely good. looking at other plates coming out i wished i had ordered something else though. black beans were awesome. pork and bbq'd chicken looked like the best. quick seating and good service

one of the most consistent recommendations we received was for el siboney cuban restaurant . lucky for us, this place lived up to the hype. a family run, basic place - this is right up my alley. the roast pork was moist and flavorful, made even better by hot sauce. the fish was fresh and spiced just right. i love maduros and these were no exception. if you are in key west and want some authentic cuban cuisine, go here! the plain exterior holds delicious surprises! fish with maduros, rice and beans.

simply the best!!. nestled back in a residential neighborhood, this little place offers the best cuban meal in key west. the famous, or should i say infamous, siboney steak was absolutely deliciously seasoned and tender. the plantains were the best i've ever ever had. i was delighted with the black beans, which are sometimes kind of an afterthought without much flavor, not so here! just delicious. key west has so much to offer culinarily speaking, and this little gem ranks high on the list! i'll go back every chance i get!
