a must visit in key west. recommended by locals here in key west you will not easily find this hidden gem by traveling the busy roads. tucked away with very little parking i was surprised to see how busy they get, even 8pm there was 5 min wait to get seated. i asked what the popular meal was they chose the siboney steak, yellow rice, plantains, black beans,cubanbread and a side of yucca fries. small portion does not exist here large meal everything was amazing except the service was a bit off they were super friendly with regulars (understandable). food was great i would comeback here again and you can not miss and visit when in key west.

fantasticcubanfood. i'm not sure what people were expecting in terms of ambience (think local diner), but the food at this place was amazing. we've had home cookedcubanmany times and tried dozens ofcubanrestaurants looking for the good stuff. this, friends, is the good stuff. puerco melted in your mouth, with a fantastic tamale on the side. probably the best friend plantains i've had in years. bf's ropa vieja was equally good, as was the moros. all for under $40 with tax, tip, beer, and a cafe con leche to end. we might go back for a second time this trip!

one of the most consistent recommendations we received was for el siboneycubanrestaurant . lucky for us, this place lived up to the hype. a family run, basic place - this is right up my alley. the roast pork was moist and flavorful, made even better by hot sauce. the fish was fresh and spiced just right. i love maduros and these were no exception. if you are in key west and want some authenticcubancuisine, go here! the plain exterior holds delicious surprises! fish with maduros, rice and beans.

simply the best!!. nestled back in a residential neighborhood, this little place offers the bestcubanmeal in key west. the famous, or should i say infamous, siboney steak was absolutely deliciously seasoned and tender. the plantains were the best i've ever ever had. i was delighted with the black beans, which are sometimes kind of an afterthought without much flavor, not so here! just delicious. key west has so much to offer culinarily speaking, and this little gem ranks high on the list! i'll go back every chance i get!

perfect place for acubanlunch. perfect size of diches. not expensive (for 3 people with beers it was 60$). one of our favorite meal in florida. go without any hesitation.

it is now pretty easy to pop over to havana for a authenticcubanmeal or....

el siboney is the real deal from its authentic food to its authentic staff. the food has always been great. we have been coming here for over 20 years. looks, feels and tastes the same

they start withcubanbread. we ordered the fried pork chunks and the pork tamale. they were served with yellow rice and black beans. layered on top are sautéed onions. fried plantains are perfect.

wonderfully authentic!

nearly every single thing i had here was above average. pricey but not bad. the steak was very tender, not the best taste i've ever had but good. the pork was very good, probably the best thing i've had there so far. the beans and rice were good and the rice could be eaten by itself. thecubansandwich was the best one i've had here also, and i don't even like those usually. if this type of food is your thing i don't think you'd be disappointed.

this is the place to go if you are in key west and wanting to trycubanfood for the first time. they bring youcubanbread to start off, which is delicious. we had the siboney steak and chicken enchirito (the tuesday special). both were great. we weren't impressed with the plantains, but they're the only ones we've ever had. we got fries for our little one and she loved the bread.

greatcubanfood here. this is a place that is in midtown so away from the bustle of duval, but it is always crowed. plan to go early or at an off time or except a wait outside. it appears to be a converted house, so it is cozy inside. very traditionalcubanfood and everything is great.
