it was such a special lunch at efendy! we had the edendy feast to enjoy many different kinds of dishes. guess what...we had amazing food!!

if you are planning to order the feast, you have to get ready for a big meal! you will be so full after this...

the staff were helpful and friendly. even though it was a hot day, the table outside was very pleasant.the food looked great and were divine. i personally enjoyed skewed chicken and lamb pizza kind of thing. and the slow cooked lamb was tender and juicy. i loved turkish mess dessert! it’s so creamy, sweet and beautifully presented.

they have special breakfast menu between 9am to 2pm so i’d love to try it next time!

read the reviews about this place and so was convinced to go. and boy, was i not disappointed! i absolutely love all middle eastern food and eat it all the time and this was by far the best turkish food i've ever had!

we did the set menu meze and it was phenomenal! every course was incredible and there was so much of it! could barely move after! so worth the money it's unreal!

also big shout out to our waiter, he was so attentive and lovely!

he even made a wine suggestion which was absolutely on point for what i wanted!

one of the best meals i've ever had! ❤️

very pleasant surprise ! efendy put a traditional, delicious twist on all time favourites from the hommus to the lamb. everything was beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and amazingly tasty. the highlights for me were the slow cooked melt-in-your-mouth lamb shoulder and the kunefe dessert! the lamb was perfectly seasoned and was so tender it fell apart. this was a beautiful end with thin bird nest like pastry, crushed pistachios and a refreshing rose water after taste. most importantly it was a perfectly balanced dessert, unlike most turkish and greek pastries this one was not overwhelmingly sweet. overall, our experience was faultless, service was prompt and friendly and the food ! definitely worthy of a revisit!

efendy is a contemporary turkish restaurant in balmain which serves a range of dips, grills and salads. the restaurant features a large, leafy courtyard dotted with umbrellas and a casual, relaxing mezebar with wooden coffee tables.

food at efendy is slightly pricier than other renowned middle eastern restaurants. i tried their shanklish/feta and kashar cheese pide, chicken thigh fillet and purslane salad. the grilled chicken thighs were juicy and flavourful whereas the cheese pide was crispy and delectable. portions are really small, so you may have to order more to fill your tummy.

beautiful breakfast in a leafy courtyard. great value and friendly service. the coffee was spot on and the sucuk was delicious! highly recommended for a tasty alternative to the monotony of everyday eggs on toast.

really good guys! came here for my 20th birthday dinner a few weeks ago. as turkish cuisine isn't all that common in australia, this restaurant was superb.

staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. the restaurant was decorated so well and i loved the layout of the restaurant itself.

food was so delicious and presented well. i can remember the lamb kofte being one of the best dishes. the 'turkish mess' i had for dessert was amazing as well. i would recommend this place to anyone, especially those who appreciate middle eastern cuisine.

we went to this place on a rainy night and the inside just made us feel nice and cosy.
we ordered the banquet option, all the staff were incredibly friendly, they explained each dish as they brought it out, i didn't drink any wine (i enjoyed my omar special drink) but my other two friends did and each dish came with a different type of turkish wine that suited the dish, they also explained the wine and where it was from etc
each dish that came out was bursting with flavour, and didn't take long to come out. the first dish was a platter with different dips and bread, it contained the best hommus i have ever tried in my life.
the second dish was a mini meat pizza type thing, the base was thin and crispy and cooked to perfection. the third dish was the ultimate dish, it was a board with mixed meats from sucuk, to kibbeh and marinated chicken, lamb skewers. i dunno how they marinated and cooked but it was really delicious.
dessert was tasty, light and very well thought of.
next time we go to this place i will really look forward to it and will look forward to trying their new menu to see what other creative ideas they cook up!

have enjoyed many a dinner at efendy over the years but this was the first time dining there for breakfast. it's a $32 per adult set menu which is all inclusive of breads, cheeses, olives, spreads, house made jams, fruits, vegetables and hot dishes of sucuk and scrambled eggs, which we enjoyed with turkish coffee and apple tea. (kids are $15 which includes bakery items only) it's a bountiful breakfast spread and i particularly enjoyed the simit (those sesame crusted bread rings sold from red carts across istanbul) with butter and sour cherry jam; it's the simple pleasures in life.

the service from our waitress was warm and attentive despite the restaurant being busy.

i tried some of efendy's food at the parramatta lanes festival and it was absolutely amazing! the lamb was so tender and delicious and the eggplant dish was also good! some of the best lamb i have had. the bread served was also delicious although i am not sure if this is made. the staff serving were very friendly and i would be keen to come in and try more food!

i went there with my wife for a sunday breakfast. it was a generally positive, and i may come back to try out lunch/dinner material.

pros:
* great variety of food in the breakfast including tasty bread.
* free tea refill is great!.
* nice location with beautiful outdoor seating.

cons:
* portions small.
* only 1 turkish pita offered per person

i think that if more pitas were offered, i would be fine with the portion sizes. actually, the variety is awesome, and there are different types of jam and cheese, but i did not appreciate that my only small pita was over so fast and i had to eat the rest of the cheese and jam using a fork.

stopped by randomly for lunch and was blown away by the quality of the food. not just some of the best turkish, but also some of the food in general i've had lately. service was great, and they had real, proper apple tea too! (swoon).
highly recommended. we'll be back!
