amazing atmosphere! we went here for our first night since it was on the resort property and we were exhausted! thefoodwas excellent! try the piña as a drink. they serve it in a hollowed out pineapple! the ahi was so fresh and delicious.

we sat in the upstairs portion of the restaurant. (a more casual area is downstairs with a menu of burgers, etc.) very large seating area with many tables. some may feel it is too loud and some may feel it is lively and festive. a lot of large families were present. nice view of the ocean if seated by the windows.foodwas solid. some people in our party really liked their meal while others thought it was slightly above average. people that ordered the fillet and fish thought they were excellent while the person that ordered the macadamia pesto dish thought it good but a bit heavy. we had a person withfoodsensitivities/allergies. they were very accommodating and careful with her special diet. she didn't experience any illness after the meal so they must have followed through with her requests. overall, a great experience.

i've been to dukes twice now for two consecutive trips to hawaii and both times they have produced greatfoodand drinks!

food: we had our last night at dukes and i had the chicken burger while my partner had the cheeseburger. both were excellent and we wished we had eaten here more! fish tacos are also amazing :)

drinks: jesse makes the best cocktails and gives the best service. we recommend the hawaiian ice tea! thank you !!

i spent my last dinner here before i flew back home. it's a decent place with a decent variety offoodand price points. i got the burger and it was delicious, i had friends split the tacos and they raved about it. at the end of the night we got the hula pie which was so good. all of us were "just going to have a bite", which turned into eating the entire thing. one thing that did need to improve is our waitress. we would wait and wait and request an item (straws, tea, etc) and she would turn on her heels and go to get it (which could take excessively long) but we also wanted to request an additional item so she only had to make one trip....so in her haste she took multiple ones. all in all it was a good meal.

disappointed. duke’s is a “see and be seen” eatery. i think people like to go to duke’s as a status symbol. it’s a big restaurant with lots of tables, on a walking path adjacent to the lihue marriott, a very high end hotel. the valet parking and indoor koi pond are nice touches.

the staff was great. they were sweet and personable.

thefoodis nothing to write home about. my stepdaughter’s thai chicken rolls were inedible. they were soggy and gross tasting. my tomato soup was good but not fantastic. the salad bar is fresh and ample but not stellar. my husband’s opah (fish) was quite good but for the price, it should be.

the room temperature of the dining area was sweltering, despite the open windows and trade winds. the heat in the ladies room almost made me pass out. we won’t be back.

the fam and i went for dinner tonight. other than the marathon walk through the hotel to get to the damn place, we really liked it. our server kicked ass, ourfoodwas good, and the salad bar was decent. no complaints here.

venture out to find some better food. very slow service, and thefoodisn't anything to get excited over. there are a million other local places that would give you fresher, more authentic island cuisine. location to the water is great though, if you are looking to wander up for a drink from the beach!

long wait, quick service. we went to dukes on two occasions. both times had a long wait to get in (30-35 min), however once we were seated we were greater promptly. we received ourfoodafter ordering extremely fast. thefoodwas good; large servings, however not too many choices (in the pub section at least).

the two separate menus posted were confusing at first (one being a menu for the pub which is downstairs, and one for the restaurant section upstairs), however you can order off either if you ask.

taco tuesday. getfoodand service, an easy and must go to place especially if staying at the marriott. fish tacos are the best!! we love fish tacos and get them whenever offered, these were close to, if not the best we have had on both the islands and mainland!

ate downstairs next to the waterfalls and koi pond. had fish and chips for dinner. calamari and maui onion soup. greatfoodand atmosphere.
