best poboy in the city, state, possibly the world.. i usually get the shrimp or oyster and almost feel like the fry the food right before they put it on your sandwich. the bread they use is made in nola and couldn't be a better fit for a poboy.

domilie’s is new orleans, it’s always up there in any list of best po boys in the city, and i was excited to find out why! it’s tucked away on a quiet, nondescript street well and truly away from the french quarter, which suited us just fine; while we loved the craziness of it all, it was nice to get out and see a different part of the city. we actually walked the full 5 miles (8km) from our hotel to domilise’s, taking our time and enjoying the stroll down magazine street, through the garden district, with a stop at district donuts sliders brew for a donut to fuel the journey . when we finally got the the iconic lemon yellow, weather boarded eatery, we were hungry and ready to put all those burnt calories back into our bellies, and then some. we were welcomed warmly like old friends overdue for a visit. we were happily and proudly guided through our options, and invited to please take a seat while our sandwiches were put together. it was like checking into the most wonderful sandwich hotel on earth! we ordered two po boys to share, the roast beef (top) and the fried shrimp (bottom), both

if you're looking to experience a classic new orleans neighborhood poboy joint, this is a good choice. pretty much of a dive, but in a good sense. just a classic, old-time, no-frills place. order your sandwich at the bar/counter. about 6 tables or so in the place. autographed pics from celebrity visitors on the walls. and the poboys are in my view good though not at the level of a place like parkway. i like the shrimp poboy here - and the way it is dressed with a touch of hot sauce.

a true dive! the ladies working were friendly and helpful. i loved the ketchup and hot sauce instead of tomato since i'm not a fan and always ask for no tomato anyway. the shrimp was perfectly breaded and fried. super tasty! the bread was classic. i wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to get a poboy from here, but if i lived nearby or were in the neighborhood, it'd be my spot.

by far the best poboy. by far the best shrimp poboy. they are a little expensive for poboys, and you really need to go at an odd time in order to avoid waiting outside. it is pretty cramped on the inside too. but, i guess it's all worth it for the poboy. maybe?

i had been dying to hear real southern accents, and the ladies behind the counter fulfilled this desire immediately. they were really sweet, and we could tell this was a popular neighborhood place.... we ended up trying two sandwiches here: the fried shrimp and the roast beef. the shrimp had a really delicious spicy/sweet sauce, and it was my favorite of the two. the roast beef was a little bit dry, but the sauce on it was amazing.

our first stop was domilise’s restaurant, which immediately reminded me of a smaller/southern version of a south buffalo bar. even though there were a large amount of tourists, you could tell there were some regulars in there too. we tried the roast beef (cut a little too thick and overcooked), fried shrimp (great mix of shrimp and sauces) and fried oysters (hands down the best, the flavor of the oyster shined through the batter).

headed out to domilise's for my first po'boy. i really liked tasty sauce on their fried shrimp sandwich. after getting fat on roast beef and fried oysters, we made our way to parkway's. i have to say i thought their po'boys were overall better. i especially liked the alligator sausage and fried pickles.

okay. the food was amazing but not enough at all. i got a large po boy and it was definitely not enough food for the price.

i couldn’t decide between fried oyster or shrimp, so got a combo instead. perfectly fried, fresh ingredients. baguette, creamy mayo, sweet tangy ketchup and hot sauce and lettuce. simplicity at its mouthwatering best.

omg-great po' boys!. one in our party during our most recent visit to no said we need to try this place. she said it was the best po boy she ever had and she visited no quite regularly. but she also said that she hadn't been there since 1973... of course i was sceptical about going since a lot can change in 40 years right?!?!?! well let me tell you it was the best sandwich i have ever eaten....well worth the cost as they do not skimp on the meat in the sandwich...i could hardly get my mouth around it!

this is the only place you should get a fried oyster po boy. once you try it, nothing else will compare. get it with dressed with mayo, ketchup, and crystal. it sounds weird but that’s how they do it there and it’s damn good.

po-boy for the not so poor boy. prices are a little higher than other po-boy establishments, but you get what you pay for. the history behind this place speaks for itself. i have been to nearly every other "po-boy spot" in new orleans and domilise's sits on a very high pedestal.
