dodging duck brewhaus

poor service. first i want to state the food was very good. we live in schertz and made the trip to boerne to visit my wife's son during his lunch break from work and after that we went to the dodging duck to see if it was as good as the reviews on here. we were very disappointed in the service of our waiter. we were seated right away and then waited for about 10 minutes before our waiter (benjamin) decided to come to our table. we were seated where i could see the hostess station and realized our waiter had been standing there flirting with the girls while we where waiting. when he did finally come to our table he did not introduce himself or welcome us to the restaurant. we had already determined what we were going to order and placed our order with his first visit. when he brought our drinksbackhe placed them on the table and abruptly. i was going to ask for a glass of water to go with the beer sampler but he left to fast. he returned to the hostess station and continued to flirt with the girls there. he did not return to our table till the food came out and then he would come by on a regular basis. i just wonder why he did not do that from the start. i did not say anything to the management because i was very upset and just wanted to get out of there. when we first looked at the menu we had decide we were going to get some cherry pie to take home with us but we changed our minds due to the service we received. in my opinion if you do not want to be at work or have other alternative desires then do it on your time and not when you are supposed to be taking care of customers for a business.

a gaggle of brews. don't dodge this duck if you happen to be in boerne. duck in and have one of their money micro-brews (pardon my fieri-ness). the brew master here is definitely no quack when it comes to his craft. ask nicely and he may agree to give you a tour of the brewery inbackof the restaurant.

be prepared to park down the street as this little chalet can get over-run with a gaggle of patrons (sorry-that's a goosey pun). o.k., o.k.. i'll stop the daffy nonsense and finish the short review

the food has some high points in a couple of dishes, but largely average bar food with some eclectic entries like grilled cinnamon chipotle trout and thai lettuce wraps. however, i'd rather make my visit here about the beer and the reason to pass my buck at the duck.

the negative reviews are hilarious. the dodging duck is a hi quality micro brewery and i will continue to comebackfor the fish tacos alone. the service has always been great to me and the atmosphere sets ir apart. if you like coors light, beware of the beer! haha.

these people are delusional. nothing more than an overpriced, over-hyped "soup/sandwich" place. i'm not opposed to paying a little extra for "ambiance", but this place is ridiculously cramped and the staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. the food is plain, and i could practically dig a hole to china and climbbackin time for it to arrive. (especially annoying when they aren't actually cooking much of their menu) didn't have a beer, but by the time i left, i sure needed one. avoid like the plague - failed attempt at a tourist spot.

the beer not the food.. their beer is delicious. their food is over-priced and underwhelming and it takes wayyy to long for a burger... 45 minutes? really?

i'll always gobackfor their dark beer and sweet potato fries but not for lunch or dinner.

whiner at the duck. i have never had bad service at the dodging duck. when it gets crowded it is slow but, it is certainly not the wait staff. it sounds like blair howard needs to feel important by bullying the wait staff who can't fightbackon these online forums and reviews. i ate there tonight and was extremely happy with the great service and i tipped accordingly. only cheap chumps stiff wait staff. you guys are great!

good beer. the food was alittle over priced and not too good. i had the buffalo burger and it was ok. i had better. the beer was good and the service was good. i will gobackin the summer.

something for everyone. had lunch here recently on one of my trips to san antonio. (actually a little nw of sa in boerne) nice, casual place with a very eclectic menu. mexican, american, asian, german, & british (oh yeah - fish & chips) i had some fried green tomatoes to start, which were very good (batter just a little heavy - but still very tasty) but what was amazing was the tomatillo sauce that came with them. it was so good that i ordered some extra to have on my fish tacos, which were excellent. they have a micro-brewery here, but i didn't get to partake, as work would frown on this. but the party i was with swore by it. also, they had an amazing wine list, so i'll definitely be goingbackto work my way through that. atmosphere was texas pub, and very comfortable, especially the deck. prices were okay, around $ 15.00 to eat , drink, and tip. parking was whatever you could come up with, but was manageable. if you're not sure what your in the mood for, go here - they've got you covered.
