service has gone down hill!

poor service. first i want to state the food was very good. we live in schertz and made the trip to boerne to visit my wife's son during his lunch break from work and after that we went to the dodging duck to see if it was as good as the reviews on here. we were very disappointed in the service of our waiter. we were seated right away and then waited for about 10 minutes before our waiter (benjamin) decided to come to our table. we were seated where i could see the hostess station and realized our waiter had been standing there flirting with the girls while we where waiting. when he did finally come to our table he did not introduce himself or welcome us to the restaurant. we had already determined what we were going to order and placed our order with his first visit. when he brought our drinks back he placed them on the table and abruptly. i was going to ask for a glass of water to go with the beer sampler but he left to fast. he returned to the hostess station and continued to flirt with the girls there. he did not return to our table till the food came out and then he would come by on a regular basis. i just wonder why he did not do that from the start. i did not say anything to the management because i was very upset and just wanted to get out of there. when we first looked at the menu we had decide we were going to get some cherry pie to take home with us but we changed our minds due to the service we received. in my opinion if you do not want to be at work or have other alternative desires then do it on your time and not when you are supposed to be taking care of customers for a business.

wonderful!. we went here on mother's day, and it was amazing! we had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, then for lunch we had the fish & chips, the mahi mahi tacos and the chicken bandellerios (sp?) and everything was exceptional, even the service was great! to top off the great food the beer was some of the best i've ever had, and i have had a lot of beer :). i will definitely go here again and again.

we are regulars!. i've read the other reviews that say the service is very slow and the prices are a little high. that's true. but that's the only thing i'd change about this place - the food is amazing. they make most of it from scratch (including french fries and ranch dressing), and you can just tell that they cook with love and care about what they serve. this is our favorite restaurant in town - we recommend the philly cheese steak sandwich.

excellent. good food, i recommend the mahi mahi fish tacos, fish and chips, or the antelope burger, medium-well. good beer, and friendly staff

stopped by this place as we were driving through borne and what a delight! the outdoor seating and menu were just right. the kids menu recipes need to be fixed.

go there for the food and for beer. my most recent visit included the chopped plate with a great axis burger and the best grilled veggies to be had anywhere. the mushrooms were soft and juicy and the asparagus was salty crispy goodness. i've also had the fish tacos, the sausage ,and the chicken wraps and would be happy to have any of them again. the venue is what it is; it's a converted house trying to be a restaurant. it's clean and the staff are friendly, but young and perhaps a little distracted by each other.

frozen bean burgers. don't order the black bean burger unless you like store bought patties as they do not make their own. very disappointing.

hill country sausage plate with jumbo pretzel. hill country sausage plate. 2 links (jalapeño cheese and hatch green chile), bavarian potato salad, jumbo pretzel, and wedges of sharp cheddar cheese.

best beer in town. the food is awesome. the wait staff is super friendly. the owner owns a bar and is responsible about things. he is friendly and talks kindly to people coming in. his beer is amazing always changing and fun!! the food is always so delicious!

they make a lot of things from scratch.

you may have to wait for service but not usually. it's crowded because it's incredibly delicious.

get the beer sampler. do it every time your in boerne it's always different because they brew it there and experiment with the kegs.

great food the chopped plate with the brewhouse burger was amazing

to the person who wrote at christmas and said "sausage was dry". i know that dish well. it's delesc the sausage is dried sausage. it's suppose to be dry! duh

beer is good. food was ok. i had the giant pretzel with sausage and cheese. thought the sausage was dry and the pretzel was greasy. beer however was excellent. place itself was small and cramped...no reason to come here for the food but many reasons for the awesome beer.

just got beer and buffalo nuggets. tried the ipa which i thought was pretty good, not too bitter like some ipa's are. also tried the oatmeal stout which had a great smell but was a bit bland. thought the beers were expensive, happy hour is 4.95 a pint, regular 5.95 a pint which is high considering it's their beer brand and they make it there. also had buffalo nuggets which had a good kick to them, came with carrots and celery, ranch. was about 6 which is a fine price for an appetizer at a restaurant. sat on the patio which was nice b/c it was a bit warn inside. not sure if i would stop by again.

i give it 2.5 stars. appetizers were good, pretzel and cheese, that's about it. kids chicken nuggets and fries were good. my korean wraps with the beef were blaaand!! just not very good at all. wife's burger was so-so. server asked what kind of bun, jalepeno or regular, and she asked for jalepeno, but got regular. seemed like it was understaffed as it took a long while between visits from our server. the only thing really good was my spicy tortilla soup. the wife's chili was lacking flavor also. great atmosphere and neat setting.
