nice atmosphere, that's all. i recently went to gypsy's for dinner while visiting little rock. i had been to vermillion water grille several times so i knew that the location wasgreatfor a fun time out downtown in the river market. i had heard that the cheese dip was great, and let's face it, you have to havegreatcheese dip in little rock. when it arrived at the table, it looked completely gross. it was white and lumpy. totally looked like a bowl of porridge or something. it did taste pretty good once you got past the appearance. after reviewing the menu and not wanting pasta, i settled on one of their burgers as a safe choice. it was pretty good, i have had better though. my dining partners dinners basically looked like the cheese dip, lumpy, and alltogether unappetizing. at least the cheese dip tasted better than it looked. their dinners looked like slop and tasted like slop. on to dessert. we ordered cake balls. not kidding, that's what they were called. basically small balls of chocolate cake, served cold with ice cream. it was inexpensive which is the only good thing to say about it.
i was told by the waiter they had been open for years in the benton/bryant area. i sure hope that our experience was because they were opening in a new location and working out the kinks. however, i think it had been open at least a few weeks if not a month or more. i don't think i will be back when returning to little rock.
