southern seafood - simple and delicious. local seafood, great quantity, fair price, good service, family oriented;
...
fresh hot corn fritters awaited us as we sat down. the broiled rock shrimp are not to be missed. the cheese grits are just the way mother used to make them; if you are not southern you won't understand that. two house brand hot sauces - habanero and dixie datil - were both tasty, a welcome alternative to texas pete.
...
tracy delivered excellent service and updated us on local culture. we were seated in 30 minutes on memorial day weekend, not bad! parking was easy, facilities clean, restrooms nice, noise level good.
...
i can understand why people drive hours out of the way to get here.

don't get it. started out badly with a very self important host. he was studying some papers as i walked up. i stood there a moment waiting for him to acknowledge me, and when he didn't i went to tell him our info. he interrupted me, saying coldly, " i'll be with you in a minute." he then continued to study his papers. he finally took down our name never looking up from his paperwork.
we were seated and served our drinks and their delicious corn fritters, which we munched happily while looking at the menu. despite me telling the waitress we had never been there, she offered no help explaining the specials or the menu at all. this was doubly disappointing when i heard the waiter at the next table helpfully explaining everything on the menu. i overheard him saying the "red" shrimp were really good right now, so decided on those. well, guess what? they are out of the one item i finally decide on...the "medium" red shrimp special. the waitress said, "but really the large reds are about the same size as the medium if you want to get those." what? did you just tell me you're ripping people off? did i hear that right? are you offering me the large for the medium price? no, she obviously expects me to pay three dollars more for the large, which are really medium shrimp.
flustered, i finally decide on the rock shrimp which they are famous for, a salad, and cole slaw. the salad was nice. the cole slaw had a funny aftertaste that i couldn't put my finger on. i only ate three bites of it. the shrimp were something i had never had. they were pretty good, but nothing i would race back to have again.
another strike was we were seated near one of the bars which was a gathering place for the employees, and we had to listen to them complain about who had more tables, how they weren't turning tables fast enough, and various other grievances while we ate.
i left this restaurant wholly unsatisfied.

really a nice seafood restaurant and very old florida. nice wide selection and well prepared. feels like a upscale theme beach place, just not on the beach. feels like it should be in vero beach on a1a. lots of locals which means it's good.

the menu features local shrimp and fish from port canaveral and ranges from sandwiches and fried baskets to  big seafood combos. dixie crossroads is a very family oriented restaurant with some of that down home southern hospitality that is great for a big family dinner or just a quick bite. their  claim to fame is the rock shrimp: this shrimp-family member resembles a miniature lobster and is wild-caught. the name comes from the thick, rock-hard shells that can be difficult to remove by hand. today the shrimp shells (and heads)

fantastic service, mediocre food. the restaurant was cute, and our server was amazing. the complimentary fritters were tasty and the best part of the meal. the coconut shrimp, mullet, and grits were mediocre and the chowder was frankly bad.

we drove from cocoa. it was good, not great. they were out of the rock shrimp everyone raved about. clam chowder, fried oysters, grilled and fried shrinp were all good. broiled fish just ok. sides were ok. i was disappointed in the cheese grits.
good place to eat but maybe not worth a long drive.

rock shrimp rock. dixie crossroads is famous for rock shrimp for a reason: rock shrimp rock. touristy and ever-popular but worth the trip to titusville to enjoy these delicious shrimp. get them broilded and you'll think you're eating min lobsters.

really good experience. the food here is really good. the corn fritters are like an insane marriage between a funnel cake and a corn fritter with the powdered sugar on top; just great stuff. i was surprised in the choice of ingredient usage in some applications, but by and large service and food are recommended. good hearty chowder and pretty good fried shrimp for the atlantic side of things.

this restaurant discriminates against veterans with disabilities that prevents them from wearing masks. we were told that we were not aloud in the restaurant. i am a veteran that suffers from ptsd and my wife was smothered as a child and we can’t not wear them. they refused us service because we can not put a mask on while we walk to a table that is 10 feet from the door. we have ate at this restaurant multiple times with no issue in the past. i don’t recommend anyone with disabilities or veterans eat here as they treat us as we are second rate citizens

awesome place to visit, 2nd time here but couldn’t remember name and found by accident due to their high rating when i was leaving ksc. they bring powdered sugar covered corn fritters to every table. had the clam chowder, was great! ordered the shrimp and oysters (fried of course) and they were great and lots of them. definitely suggest giving them try.

not a great spot to dine as a vegetarian at all. there are only two veg items on the menu. that said, we went there so one of the three of us could have seafood, and that person seemed to enjoy their meal. the veggies in the party were stuck with sad iceberg lettuce salads, and side dishes.
