dixie crossroads seafood restaurant

really good experience. thefoodhere is really good. the corn fritters are like an insane marriage between a funnel cake and a corn fritter with the powdered sugar on top; just great stuff. i was surprised in the choice of ingredient usage in some applications, but by and large service andfoodare recommended. good hearty chowder and pretty good fried shrimp for the atlantic side of things.

visiting from texas and found this restaurant on google. reviews seemed good so we stopped for a very late lunch. wait was 20 minutes on a tuesday afternoon at almost 3pm. our waitress was pleasant and prompt and kept our water full. thefoodhowever was a little disappointing. google had a 4+ rating so my expectations were a bit higher. we ordered the dixie spectacular. sadly it was not spectacular. we got the broiled rock shrimp and they were the only thing that was spectacular on the plate. the crab and the lobster were both way overcooked and difficult to shell. we went ahead and had the scallops fried, but they were not hot and crispy, but a bit on the soggy side. not sure what other people expect out of their seafood to give it such high reviews, but i make better crab at lobster at home than i experienced here. i give it a 2.5 only because the staff was friendly, our waitress was good and the rock shrimp was very good. the rest was a bit ho hum and below average in my book.

this place use to be a great place for our company yearly get together and birthday parties, we would always bring guests here of at least 10-20 people. they had all you can eat snow crab, shrimp, fish, and other things for approximately $50.00 everyone in our party would order the all you can eat, which means we would drop at least $500.00-$1,000.00 in one setting plus tax and tip. for some odd reason the owner took it off the menu and said the reason was that they were losing money on the deal, i find that very hard to believe since the average person can only eat 3lbs. offoodmax in one setting. just raise the price but to take it off the menu is unexplainable, after waiting a hour to be seated today our party of 15 was told that they no longer offer the all you can eat. they have now lost our business until the owner gets smart enough to bring back what everyone i know used to come for. i hate when a great restaurant tries to get greedy and changes what was working for years, price changing doesn't bother me but menu changes do to greed does bother me.

was diasppointed by all the hype. went there about a mo ago. it was packed and from what everyone was saying this was not suprising. so my waiter takes my order. had to ask a party of 4 3 times what they wanted. so i put in a order of rock shrimp. everyone else got there order except for me. the waiter said they forgot to put it in but would get them to hurry the order. i advised don't bother because i had already sampled them from others plate.. not that good.. he said that he would take them n off my bill and still bring me the order. i said sure because i was hungry. 10 mins later no shrimp and he comes back and says the manger would like to speak with me. so after another like 10 mins he comes out to tell me he would be happy to take the order of my bill since i didn't receive it. so basically i waited 45 mins for the manager to come out and say he would not charge me for something i did not receive. thefoodwas not even to long john silvers standards. no one was pleased with therefoodthe bread or bites that they give at the beginning was the only bright spot.i will never go back.. did not even off a discount. ..

one word to describe it is ... fabulous!! we had the most incredible server by the name of jessica a.
she has been working at the restaurant several years and she was very knowledgeable about all thefooditems on the menu and how they are prepared. after asking recommendations on several things we ended up with the ruby reds broiled with key west seasoning, grits and we upgraded to the house salad "all the way" with everything on it. we also wanted to try the rock shrimp and we were able to purchase "1" just to try it. also incredible! i can't say enough good things about this restaurant and of course jessica a. who made our dining experience 10 times better. thank you dixie crossroads and jessica a. for a wonderful birthday dinner!!

dinner not so great. dinner for 13 people there. the service was adequate. thefoodwas really not tyat good. small portions, over cooked and way over proced for how it tasted.

diner. long years ago when i first visited dixie crossroads thefoodwas great. the past few visits have been extremely disappointing!! thefoodis overcooked and the overallfoodquality seems to be less than good. the corn fritters are still awesome and the service and atmosphere is still great. but unfortunately thefoodis almost rated poor !! no more long drives for below averagefoodfor me. also, i purchased their $23.00 46 ounce margarita with souvenir glass. it was mostly ice and when i checked the actual size, it was only 40 oz !!! rip off !! we had a group of 10 people who will not be returning !! fix yourfoodsoon !!!

really, really good.. our waitress was very knowledgeable, her recommendations as to what was fresh and local were spot on. this isn't red lobster or applebees folks.. this is fresh seafood prepared very well and simply and a non-corporate family business. get the cheese grits as a side you'll think you died and went to heaven. even our vegetables (fresh green beans and carrots prepared al dente) were notable and worth a positive comment.

in short, anyone that complains about about a place with trained helpful servers and great well prepared and fresh (did i mention that if you ask for what is fresh, that it is fresh, fresh fresh?)foodlike this... is probably a competitor!

wonderful - no. i just think the place is on the plus side of good; not great and certainly not excellent. the shrimp were good, that said, i would never drive that long distance anymore; but after a number of years on brevard county, decided that we really should try it. i like to go out to eat and try different variations onfoodthat i don't cook at home. but, as far as what i'd choose from their menu -- i can cook better at home. it's a shame - but i think the quality of a lot of restaurants are just declining. not much is really cooked from scratch anymore; and that phrase is a joke; "made from scratch"; c'mon, it's likely out of a box, or can, or frozen and heated.

much higher price than listed, which wouldn't be a problem exceptfoodwas very bland and plain. no flavor on the fish what so ever, shrimp much the same!
this is the second time we have eaten here and the first was a year ago and was a great experience, today... not so much!
