horrible. use to be good but now the food is horrendous

really, really good.. our waitress was very knowledgeable, her recommendations as to what was fresh and local were spot on. this isn't red lobster or applebees folks.. this is fresh seafood prepared very well and simply and a non-corporate family business. get the cheese grits as a side you'll think you died and went to heaven. even our vegetables (fresh green beans and carrots prepared al dente) were notable and worth a positive comment.

in short, anyone that complains about about a place with trained helpful servers and great well prepared and fresh (did i mention that if you ask for what is fresh, that it is fresh, fresh fresh?) food like this... is probably a competitor!

excellent food reasonably priced! very children friendly with the three dollar kids meals. would definitely recommend.

greasy mediocre food not worth the hour wait .,was charged 2$ for a glass of water that i certainly would not have ordered had i known . the fried oysters were inedble. shame on them!

awesome rock shrimp. in fact the best i have had. loved the atmosphere and service. will definitely come back again!

empty pockets. haven't been there in 5 years. crowds are gone and so are the reasonable prices. but the food was still good.

wonderful - no. i just think the place is on the plus side of good; not great and certainly not excellent. the shrimp were good, that said, i would never drive that long distance anymore; but after a number of years on brevard county, decided that we really should try it. i like to go out to eat and try different variations on food that i don't cook at home. but, as far as what i'd choose from their menu -- i can cook better at home. it's a shame - but i think the quality of a lot of restaurants are just declining. not much is really cooked from scratch anymore; and that phrase is a joke; "made from scratch"; c'mon, it's likely out of a box, or can, or frozen and heated.

the broiled mahi mahi was perfect.
the soup was my favorite.

first visit to dixie crossroads today and everything was great. our server candi was fantastic...suggesting items and being incredibly friendly. good size portions and great taste!

overpriced and uncooperative.

a very average experience. dixie crossroads is one of those places you just have to go to. the rock shrimp are great, however, they give you melted margarine to dip them in. luckily i questioned it & the waitress was wiling to bring me some real butter.... i had to ask what the cheese grits were supposed to taste like. they did not taste remotely like cheese. they tasted like nasty, dirty dishpan water & they were very watery to boot. the french fries were battered & horrible, the soup was also reminiscent of dirty water & canned food. i would go back for the shrimp, but i will have to remember to request real butter & be very choosy about sides. the cole slaw was decent & fresh, at least. i also would not recommend this restaurant to anyone... based on the overall quality of what they serve, i would not want to be responsible for someone's potentially unenjoyable meal.

eating here was a great overall experience. its been a few years and i wasn't sure what to expect. the interior was very clean and has been updated ainxe last i ate here. the waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. most importantly, the rock shrimp was delicious. i regret not ordering a few dozen more. will definatly try to come back more often!

much higher price than listed, which wouldn't be a problem except food was very bland and plain. no flavor on the fish what so ever, shrimp much the same!
this is the second time we have eaten here and the first was a year ago and was a great experience, today... not so much!
