good cupcakes and drinks. casual "vintage" atmosphere.. the cupcakes are good. i made a mecca all the way to that "up and coming" (but not there yet) area just to get their cupcakes. the icing is sweet and "lighter" than some other gourmet cupcake stores around here.
the coffee is fine, but i really like their tea and their italian sodas. they have interesting flavors to add in, like lavender and a dozen or two other flavor add-in options. i haven't found many other places around here that have that many flavor add-in varieties.
i spent $8.something for a drink and 2 cupcakes. it's not absorbantly pricey, but it's not cheap either. cupcakes are around $3 each, maybe $2.50 each. they're a bit small, and slightly underbaked so they're not dry. i like their cupcakes.
would i go all the way there, and to that area, just for cupcakes often? not so much. but if i want a casual "vintage" (let's call it that) place to hang out a while and also want cupcakes, it's worth a trip.
this place is.... "vintage." the building is a run down old house with run down "garage sale" furniture. it's old and worn out but has it's charm.
it can get crowded during rush hour and it can be hard to find a seat. a lot of people come here to "study" but often end up talking for hours on end. i wouldn't suggest coming here to study, but it's a chill place to meet up with a friend at during non-peak hours. i've been hating on the place (and the area) for people calling it "trendy" (it's still not that nice of a surrounding neighborhood), but the cupcakes are good enough for me to make a mecca there and hang out every once in a while.
