goodcupcakesand drinks. casual "vintage" atmosphere.. thecupcakesare good. i made a mecca all the way to that "up and coming" (but not there yet) area just to get their cupcakes. the icing is sweet and "lighter" than some other gourmet cupcake stores around here.

the coffee is fine, but i really like their tea and their italian sodas. they have interesting flavors to add in, like lavender and a dozen or two other flavor add-in options. i haven't found many other places around here that have that many flavor add-in varieties.

i spent $8.something for a drink and 2 cupcakes. it's not absorbantly pricey, but it's not cheap either.cupcakesare around $3 each, maybe $2.50 each. they're a bit small, and slightly underbaked so they're not dry. i like their cupcakes.

would i go all the way there, and to that area, just forcupcakesoften? not so much. but if i want a casual "vintage" (let's call it that) place to hang out a while and also want cupcakes, it's worth a trip.

this place is.... "vintage." the building is a run down old house with run down "garage sale" furniture. it's old and worn out but has it's charm.

it can get crowded during rush hour and it can be hard to find a seat. a lot of people come here to "study" but often end up talking for hours on end. i wouldn't suggest coming here to study, but it's a chill place to meet up with a friend at during non-peak hours. i've been hating on the place (and the area) for people calling it "trendy" (it's still not that nice of a surrounding neighborhood), but thecupcakesare good enough for me to make a mecca there and hang out every once in a while.

when i visit a facility that focuses so specifically on one food i'm expecting a great deal of adventure, experimentation and fusion to come out of the kitchen. in some respects this place has it. it's definitely a good stop for an afternoon or early evening treat. i would like to see some improvement and what they offer on the top of those tastycupcakesin the way of icing. regardless of that most anyone can find something to appreciate at this quaint little spot. the friendly service is a plus.

nice chai latte and chocolate cupcake!. this place is quaint, and has much buttercupcakesthan a lot of other places, love the charm of the wood floors and atmosphere! the line was out the door this last saturday, so that obviously speaks volumes about their business, and the chai latte was amazing!

felt like i was sitting, uninvited, in someone's living room.... you may need to take into consideration that this review follows a visit to this popular okc coffee hangout for the first time on a saturday morning at 11:30.

i'm not going to give a comprehensive review the coffee (i'm not an fan of elemental coffee -- too grassy tasting and light for me) or thecupcakes(good, but nothing special -- had the vanilla sky... cake was a bit rubbery and had the consistency of cornbread, frosting was sweet and a bit grainy, but tasted good).

i'm mainly reviewing the atmosphere. thing is, the place is popular. the electic furniture is well-placed, and lends itself to parties of one or two, quiet reading, studying or quiet conversation. the only spots available when i arrived were two side chairs across from a sofa that was occupied. i begrudgingly took one of the side chairs, which was comfortable, and attempted to avoid eye contact with the couple sitting across from me. i felt like i was invading someone's living room. clearly, this was a spot for a larger party, but i didn't have a choice. they left, and a single person quickly nabbed the sofa, kitty-corner from me. the side chair to my left remained empty for a while.

about half an hour into my visit, a group of about six people came in. they stood right behind me (within 2 feet), obviously catching up after having not seen each other for a while. they were loud. i pushed my earbuds in more firmly, and turned up the volume to attempt to drown them out. (i should bring up the music choice, now. i'm a fan of unobtrusive music in my coffee shops: quiet jazz, indie, classical, etc... genre doesn't matter, but it shouldn't be too loud. the music was loud, country-ish, and loud. did i mention it was loud?)

the group got larger as time went on, and soon there was a line from the counter to almost the door of chattering guests -- to a baby shower. sigh... they have a back room, apparently, which accommodates larger groups. thing is, it almost seemed like there were two parties happening, one planned, and one, perhaps not booked. three times, people literally hoisted their leg over the chair next to me, and squeezed between my chair and the other one, to get through. come on, people!!!!! that's just beyond rude. give me some personal space.

while i can not fault the management for the behavior of the patrons, i can say that they have really done nothing to encourage a calm, quiet, coffee experience.

and oh yeah... i'm tired of hipsters badmouthing starbucks... i had to listen in (had no way to avoid hearing) a group of patrons extolling the superiority of the coffee experience at cuppies. now, i know it is currently hip to badmouth starbucks, and be generally anti all things green mermaid, and i adore independent coffee shops, but at least i don't have people climbing over me at starbucks, and i don't feel like i'm sitting uninvited in someone's living room.

the cupcake is a soft, fluffy, and light yellow cake with vanilla and butter flavors topped with chocolate butter cream frosting. i’m very picky about frosting and real butter cream and cream cheese frostings elevatecupcakesfrom good to amazing. for me, a great frosting is absolutely necessary and cuppies does it right.

i'm a fan. though not always perfect, i enjoy my time at c&j. the lattes are spot on (with latte art) and thecupcakessatisfy my sweet tooth. the place can be a bit crowded, so you have to try to go on an off-time to get a table. love the atmosphere and vibe. worth a visit.

really good joe. thecupcakesare fine, but the espresso drinks are among the best in okc. they use elemental beans, but i actually prefer c&j's drinks over the elemental location in midtown. i'm something of a purist, but even i love their iced lattes.
