bland. i didnt have the coffee,but from what i understand they serve a local roaster.i have had that elsewhere and its ok.
but as far as the cupcakes go,one day i went in and bought two different kinds. 1 chocolate,the other lemon. the texture was fine,to be expected,yet the flavor lacked. they were sort of dull. they were frosted nicely and neatly,but the frosting even lacked a diffinitive flavor.the chocolate needed more chocolate,same with the lemon cake.

good vibe, good coffee, decent cupcakes. the best thing about this place is the great aspen coffees and espressos they make. their cupcakes are inventive and interesting. i haven't had a bad one. while i am a repeat customer and take my entire family of 5 there at least once a month, i do agree that the cupcakes are generally a little on the dry side. this isn't to the point where the cakes aren't good, but it is noticeable on certain ones. their stuff is all well made though and there are never any complaints. judging from their booming business in the recession, there are more positives than negatives. i usually go in and buy four coffees, 5 cupcakes, and one milk and it comes out to be $23.19.

can you say dry?. the one thing i look for in a cake is moisture........not only are the cupcakes a bit on the small side, they are dry! thank goodness i had coffee to help me choke it down. the only plus......they do have clever names for the capcakes.

not quite together. tried it a second time, some months after my first. decent coffee with the option of one large cup or "bottomless." except the pump dispenser was empty. how do you run out of hot coffee? cupcakes were again a miss. they're smallish and while they're acceptable there's no "rave" factor. i had a chocolate with mint icing and sadly if i closed my eyes i couldn't tell you if the the cupcake was chocolate or not.

i love the funky setting spread through the rooms of a circa 1920 house. a good spot if you want to check your email and have a coffee.

fantastic!!. great atmosphere. great cupcakes. great coffee. very reasonable price! one warning - the counter situation is a little strange and really contributes to a confusing and unnecessary bottleneck as you wait for your coffee. still, the cupcakes are well worth it.

love it!. great cupcakes! i go there for their cameo cookies!

oh man this place is great i live the peanut butter chocolate one! this was my first stop on the cupcake smackdown and my search is over.

nice experience. a nice little coffee shop/cupcake bakery. the espresso drinks are good, and the cupcakes are tasty. (some better than others. i like the sasafras (sp?) a lot). the times i have visited the shop has been clean & well kept. (bravo! other shops take note!)

while some may think the cupcakes are a little too small i think they are just right. (i really don't need huge sweets, how many of us do? a single cupcake is perfect for me)

the only downside is that the shop can get a little busy at times. i've never had to wait more than 5-10 min, but finding a seat inside can be a challange at times.

i recommend giving it a try!

cute place, good prices, and friendly staff.. you can tell they're really excited and proud of their store. the cupcakes are a little smaller than i expected and there is not a lot of unique flavors but i'll be back. maybe they'll get brave and try something besides chocolate and vanilla.

i keep going back.... really like the cupcakes, there is not a huge selection, but it is a small place, and the line is frequently out the door, as people try to decide which ones and how many. i like the black and white best, i usually am not a frosting fan, but it is delicious. my only complaint is they are closed sunday-monday, so plan ahead to have enough to make it till tuesday!

cute but lacks unique reciepes. first of all i love cupcakes and when i heard about this place i was pretty excited. my husband and i decided to get 6 cupcakes from here and 6 from another local cupcakery. i have to say when i walked in the door it had the cool college vibe feel to it, but that was the only part i care to remember. all the cupcakes are in a case lower to the ground (move that thing up!) and things are displayed clearly. when we were their they had probably 6 - 7 flavors out but honestly, most of them where chocolate in some form or fashion.. nothing original or memorable. they are all pretty small and have fairly cheap, overly sweet icing for the price you pay.. and let me be clear, i don't mind paying $3 for a cupcake if its worth it, but these definitely weren't. finally, on their website they said you could purchase a dozen cupcakes and receive a discounted price, reading this we were actually going to buy 12 but when we got there they told us they actually needed 24 hrs. notice for the dozen.. ironically enough one of the workers then said "yeah, ya know we should really put that on the site." it was hard enough to get them to sell us 6 at that point so i said, give me a variety of some favorites. again, disappointed. the people generally seemed very sweet but if as a baker i would expect some originality in their cupcakes.. not just chocolate, vanilla, red velvet.. etc, etc. i really wish these nice people the best but they won't have my business again.

cute place! yummy cuppies!. after reading about cuppies and joe & sara sara cupcakes in the cupcake smackdown article, i just had to try them out. i've been to both places, and i have to say that cuppies and joe wins hands down! first, the place is just adorable, warm and inviting. second, the cuppies are amazing! we've had vanilla sky, ebony & ivory, neverland, sassafrass, the don and horsebite. not a bad one in the bunch! all of them were moist and had a fantastic flavor. the lattes we had were fabulous too! it is now my husband and i's favorite date night dessert place. my kids ask to go every saturday! every time we have been in, there has been a line to the door. it is worth the wait!

not impressed. my cupcakes all had a coffee taste and just were not that good. the icing was super yummy, but the cake part, not so much. i can't figure out they tasted so off, maybe it's because they're all in same case or maybe it's because they make the coffee right by the cupcakes.
