thisplaceis great. local, friendly and the food is truly good. i had the fried green tomato with shrimp, wonderful. the onion rings were so good i refused the ketchup. my other half enjoyed a real turkey po-boy with a side of red beans and rice. i plan to make this a go to spot when we visit.

real deal po boy. i know louisiana is known for po-boys. i like them, but i always found them to be nothing "that good" until i found this place. my favorite is the cochon po boy or the classic shrimp. it's apparent that these guys put a lot of love in their meat, which is hard to find these days. the quality and consistency of theplacemakes it worth the drive.

try the duck or the cochon de lais. thisplaceis wonderful. i have been raised on poboys and thisplacehits the nail on the head. the duck is shredded like all roast beef poboys should be. most of these meats are slow cooked and not made to order. its almost like your mom is making it for you with hours of prepration and thats because their workers come in on days when the shop is closed to prepare them for you. people who dont like thisplaceprefer quarter poboys...and by all means thisplaceis crowded enough please leave and go elsewhere...for that 8 inch nonstuffed poboy that every tourist buys and feels like they got had for....this is a local shop. appreciated only by the locals.

loud, horrible catfish. you can literally taste the mississippi river mud. the coleslaw was rancid, the french fries were flavor less and theplacewas to loud with music blaring and the people up front acting as if they were on a megaphone. i will have to say the poboys and the fried chicken looked good but it was also extremely overpriced. that is the only good things i can say about this place. save your money!!!

monster po' boys on great bread!. huge po' boys served on great bread and overstuffed with your choice of filling. three of us shared three different samples of crabby jacks signature po' boys, shrimp, duck and half &half(shrimp and oyster) dressed of course. monster portions served on great bread with sides of jambalaya and gumbo. all of them were outstanding and i particularly liked the duck version. we each ordered the regular size and none of us could finish it at one sitting so think about that before ordering the king size option. thisplaceis a definite "do again" the next time i'm in the area. bon apetité!

greatplace-- lousy onion rings.. in so many ways, this is a great place. new orleans vibe , infinite choices in salads throw-ins, a great variety of local food. a greatplacefor locals, and a greatplacefor tourists.

my only complaint: you would think jacque would not serve frozen onion rings, but he does. for those of you who don't know -- this is jacque of jacques imos on oak street.

oyster poboy. i wanted to try thisplacebecause of its affiliation with jacques-imo's, and it did not disappoint. the staff were not very friendly, but the food was very good. it was super packed at lunch time on wednesday, barely any standing space, but a nice ambiance nonetheless. i wanted to try the calimari poboy just because it's different, but they had run out by the time i got there. so, i ordered an oyster poboy and a side of fries. they were both seasoned perfectly, and the oysters were to die for. yummm! i'll be back!

i happened to be in the area at lunch time and decided to check out if thisplacewas open. (i had heard through friends that thisplacekeeps odd hours). i think the hours are like 10 am to 4 pm or so. thisplacehas the best shrimp po boy award in town and so i had to go and taste for myself. walking in, i knew what i was going to order beforehand but i was surprised by how small the menu was. shrimp po boy i was impressed with just the sheer size of this half sandwich. there was plenty of shrimp for me to make a 2nd sandwich with this thing. the batter for the shrimp was delicious too. i had ordered my food to go because i was feeling a little self conscious about eating out alone and i didn't bring a book and i had already read all the stories on people.com. the sandwich smelled so delicious on the drive home. a mix of seafood and salt scent filled my car (the new car smell had been long gone at this point). when i got home and un

worth the drive po boys, creole, fish, boudin, mac & cheese. we came in at the end of the lunch crowd. our host ordered for us and the folks knew to keep the food flowing. our table of 6 sampled duck and oyster po boys. shrimp and fried green tomatoes po boy, boudin, mac and cheese, shrimp creole, fried chicken, and creole filet of fish. po boys were stuffed and the fish was excellent. oysters were tender and plump. we couldn't finish it all but what a feast. i liked the fish and the creole shrimp the best. duck po boy was tasy but i'd stick with the oysters or shrimp. they were "out of oysters" . the drum was moist and seasoned and perfectly cooked. moist and zesty. the boudin and gravy was too spicy for this group. locals are lucky to have a lunchplacethat puts out quailty quanity and warm hospitality. hugs around even when we closed the place. check hours closely. on to the next stop.

worth the trip. i visit nola frequently from nj. i found thisplacethrough urbanspoon, in search for real local food, instead of chains or tourist traps. theplaceis a dump, but the food is outstanding. crabby jack's specializes in po-boys (subs on french roll for the rest of us outside of nola). thisplacehas become a mandatory stop for me when i'm in the nola area. why you ask? in nj the line would be out the door 24/7. favorites - brisket po-boy dressed (lettuce, tomato and mayo). a great sandwich full of flavor that melts in your mouth. the ultimate sleeper, the turkey po-boy. a turkey sub you say. i say yes. this is the best turkey sub in the us.

new orleans best. try to avoid the lunch time crowd, because thisplacehas some of the best po-boys you'll ever eat. the first time we got a shrimp, next time i got a cochon de lait po-boy, probably the best ever. my wife and daughter got the king-sized shrimp po-boy to split ,i ate the rest of the shrimp for supper.
