great po-boys and so much more. located in old jefferson, just over the parish line from nola, sits a little restaurant with cafeteria style seating and a heck of a menu. the largest section of the menu is devoted a local lunch favorite, the po-boy. po-boy varieties here range from a very delicious fried shrimp to an especially delectable cochon de lait (roasted pork). po-boys are not all that is on the menu. briskets, blackened gulf fish, stuffed mirliton, etc are available as plate specials. there has yet to be an entree or sandwich that i have not loved. some have complained about the "long table / bar seating" when it is crowded (usually between 1130am -1230 pm) but just take a seat where you can and make a friend. the prices are not cheap by local standards but manageable and well worth it. the quantities are large and the quality is excellent. that being said, if you are visiting new orleans this lunch favorite is highly recommended. get a po-boy/special, order a side of dirty rice, and leave room for a homemade brownie or cookie. you will thank me as your friends have to roll you out of the place. it's new orleans... half the reason you came here was to eat.

wow!!!. shared a dressed cochon de lait po boy with the mrs., i've got to say this was by far the best po boy i've had in town. cheaper & better imho than guy's po boy uptown, which was previously the favorite. will be coming back here as much the wallet & waist will allow!!!

stellar food.  this was our first stop for food in our trip to nola and we actually stumbled upon it by accident.  turns out, the po'boy was out of this world.  i would highly recommend the 1/2 and 1/2 shrimp/oyster po'boy.  portions are pretty big, a regular will usually suffice for one person.  wish they were open later though!

this place is great. local, friendly and the food is truly good. i had the fried green tomato with shrimp, wonderful. the onion rings were so good i refused the ketchup. my other half enjoyed a real turkey po-boy with a side of red beans and rice. i plan to make this a go to spot when we visit.

crabby jack's is definitely a favorite of the locals. walking in you get the vibe that everyone else eating there are regulars. i had the fried green tomato and shrimp remoulade poboy. did i mention they are known for their overstuffed poboys? my sandwich was overflowing with fried green tomatoes and shrimp goodness. if you are ever in new orleans i strongly suggest you wander away from the french quarter and make your way to crabby jack's for lunch.

real deal po boy. i know louisiana is known for po-boys. i like them, but i always found them to be nothing "that good" until i found this place. my favorite is the cochon po boy or the classic shrimp. it's apparent that these guys put a lot of love in their meat, which is hard to find these days. the quality and consistency of the place makes it worth the drive.

good and generous. the duck po-boy was rich and overstuffed, and very well made. it was an enjoyably messy experience. the bread was so much better than most spots, and i'll return to try other varieties.

try the duck or the cochon de lais. this place is wonderful. i have been raised on poboys and this place hits the nail on the head. the duck is shredded like all roast beef poboys should be. most of these meats are slow cooked and not made to order. its almost like your mom is making it for you with hours of prepration and thats because their workers come in on days when the shop is closed to prepare them for you. people who dont like this place prefer quarter poboys...and by all means this place is crowded enough please leave and go elsewhere...for that 8 inch nonstuffed poboy that every tourist buys and feels like they got had for....this is a local shop. appreciated only by the locals.
