despite the popularity of their oak st restaurant, the semi-industrial location of crabby jack’s tells you clearly that the owners were more interested in establishing agreateatery for locals than for chasing the tourist dollar. high five, guys.

monster po' boys ongreatbread!. huge po' boys served ongreatbread and overstuffed with your choice of filling. three of us shared three different samples of crabby jacks signature po' boys, shrimp, duck and half &half(shrimp and oyster) dressed of course. monster portions served ongreatbread with sides of jambalaya and gumbo. all of them were outstanding and i particularly liked the duck version. we each ordered the regular size and none of us could finish it at one sitting so think about that before ordering the king size option. this place is a definite "do again" the next time i'm in the area. bon apetité!

terrific po-boys.greatpo-boys. this is a small shack with a dive vibe that hasgreatfood. order at the counter and have a seat. the oyster po-boy wasgreatwith a lot of oysters. my husband had the fluer de bree with baked ham, roast beef, debris and gravy. lots of meat and he rated it excellent.

prices are reasonable and you can keep the crabby jack's cup your pop is served in. friendly staff too.

yummy for the tummy. over filled sandwiches,greatfries and onion rings, andgreatside dishes. best poboys. my cholesterol level doesn't appreciate it, but my palate loves it.

great place -- lousy onion rings.. in so many ways, this is agreatplace. new orleans vibe , infinite choices in salads throw-ins, agreatvariety of local food. agreatplace for locals, and agreatplace for tourists.

my only complaint: you would think jacque would not serve frozen onion rings, but he does. for those of you who don't know -- this is jacque of jacques imos on oak street.

excellent food, poor service.. the food:
everything i've eaten...delicious! homey, flavorful, and large portions. i love the roast duck poboy!

service:
hit or miss..sometimes rude.

despite the occasional poor service, i really enjoy the food here. try the mac n cheese and duck poboy. gumbo isgreattoo!

out on the town.greatsouthern fried seafood! huge portions from salads to po boys. you just have to try it and you will be hooked!

worth the trip. i visit nola frequently from nj. i found this place through urbanspoon, in search for real local food, instead of chains or tourist traps. the place is a dump, but the food is outstanding. crabby jack's specializes in po-boys (subs on french roll for the rest of us outside of nola). this place has become a mandatory stop for me when i'm in the nola area. why you ask? in nj the line would be out the door 24/7. favorites - brisket po-boy dressed (lettuce, tomato and mayo). agreatsandwich full of flavor that melts in your mouth. the ultimate sleeper, the turkey po-boy. a turkey sub you say. i say yes. this is the best turkey sub in the us.

great po boys. my sons live in nola and brought me to crabby jacks for one of the best po boys i have ever eaten. if you can find a seat at lunch you will be sitting with new friends. nothing fancy justgreatfood. i highly reccomend eating at cjs.

cochon po-boy & mac n' cheese are superb. being a new orleans native, i know what a good po-boy is. crabby jack's cochon po-boy is awesome. loved the sauce that accompanies the pork. the duck po-boy on the other hand, needed a bit more flavor. the mac-n-cheese wasgreat- jalapeno added some zang. this was a to-go order & i also got fried green tomatoes and am wondering if they forgot the remoulade? the batter is a bit plain but the tomato itself was perfect.

sooo good. i love this place, the variety is excellent , along withgreatpoboys they offer tons of other options. everytime i have out of town visiters i take them here, a reallygreatrestaurant with lots of local flavor...
