i have visited cornish pasty about 3-4 times, and loved everything i have tried out here!

i specially relished their veggie chicken tikka masala and veggie mexican.

their service is little slow - they took more than 30 minutes to start serving. so be prepared for a longish wait. ambience and seating are good.

their prices are fully justified for thegreattaste and generous portion sizes.

overall, i loved the experience and will be returning for more for sure!

love real food, in a "different" atmosphere!. cold! (for phoenix) saturday night. time to try some pasties.
seated ourselves at a large table with real church pew seats. ordered drinks from friendly, casual server, along with salads.
fresh, crisp lettuce, best grape tomatoes in town, and a very flavorful balsamic dressing packed with herbs!
oggie pastie for me. bits of steak, potato, onion & rutabaga in a perfect crust. top with the superb wine gravy, and you've got a meal to remember. wife had the pilgrim, a turkey, dressing, sweet potato & onion pastie that was good enough for thanksgiving anywhere.
though we didn't need it, tried the chips (fries) and mashed peas. reminded me of food i had in lancashire, england.
took home half of the pasties, and a sticky toffee pudding dessert . don't think twice, order the sticky toffee! unique!
wait staff was all friendly, though they look like a bunch of anarchist refugees from a gulag in siberia! definite university atmosphere.
the music playing at a comfortable level was splendid! agreatmix of rhthym & blues. had a good time, and a terrific meal.

food..........a
service.......b ( casual)
ambience.....b- ( dark, dingy, bluesy, studenty !)
value..........b+

this is my new favorite place to dine! i came in alone for lunch today and as doo as i walked in the door i liked the vibe of the place. my butt hardly hit the seat and a very friendly server came to my table with a smile on his face. he helped me navigate the big selection of draft choices and his suggestion was fantastic. i have never been here before and even though i am here now enjoying my bangers and mash pasty with a side of amazingly zesty chips with garlic and jalapeño, i can hardly wait to come back with friends. i liked the music, the staff, the vibe, the beer, and of course the divine pasty! i like to try new place that are not some big national chain. i much prefer to support the small business owner. i enjoyed my meal and my time in thisgreatplace. i will be back soon.

these aren't glorified hot pockets... one of my top favorite places in arizona to eat! they have expanded, but i still love this orginal location in tempe. i love sitting at the bar and watching the cooks make these yummy pasties. my favorite is still the orginal "oggie", but i try new ones every time i come here. my friends tease me, but i always add a side of the mushy peas. desserts? the banoffee pie is to die for.greatbeer selection too!

first time. as my friend and i were discussing where we should go eat, he said let's go to cornish pasty. wtf? i didn't know what it was but agreed.

this place didn't seem out of the ordinary or spectacular. while walking inside i was caught by surprise of the dimly lit environment. we sat down at these nice wooden tables, and i found myself relaxing and enjoying this cozy bar vibe.

i felt right at home and comfortable. the music that they played inside, made me question my own musical taste, as i listened to the classic rock. my friend explained the food here is like bad-ass hot pockets. i wasn't sure what to expect.

after reviewing all the items on the menu, i concluded it all sounded delicious. i ordered a thanksgiving pasty, that came with red wine gravy, and cranberry sauce.

when our plates arrived, i found myself gazing at a beautiful golden outer crust, with the two sauces in little dipping cups. the pasty was filled with turkey and chicken and stuffing. there may be more but i didn't care too much, it smelled amazing.

i grabbed one of the halves of the pasty, and noticed myself being gentle as if holding a baby, it was beautiful, and i didn't want to ruin it. i took a bite, and feltgreatas i remembered past thanksgivings. thanksgiving in your mouth.greatright?

i ate it slow to enjoy the flavor, and used my sauces carefully. the gravy was mouth watering, and tempted me to just drink it. when i wanted to change up the flavor, the cranberry was agreataddition. my mouth waters as i write this.

after finishing my first half, i realized i was contempt and full. i used a fork to stab the contents that fell out. eating here is messy, but is completely worth it.

the food is perfect.

tl;dr - the food here is great! mouth watering.10/10 dim lighting andgreatmusic/cozy environment. feels kind of like a bar, seats like a diner.

me and my boy friend come here often and sit around doing car bombs for a few hours! always a good time! all the pasties that i have tried are very good, simple good eatin, its a hit or miss with the staff, sometimes they are attentive and helpfull and sometimes they dont even know that youve been sitting there for 30 minutes trying to get their attention, i mean come on the joint i tiny! another down fall is the time it takes to get your food, i know it takes time to bake the pasty but it seems to take longer than it should! half a pasty is more than enough to fill me up for just about the whole day and always look forward to heating up the other half as a late night snack! its agreatplace to take a load off and relax and drink some good beer and eat some good food! love it and would absolutely recommend it!

if you stick to the beer and pasties, you should make out just fine.... i am writing this with both respect and frustration for this restaurant. having spent time in the uk, i was familiar with the famous "meal in a pastry" that originates from the mining town of cornwall.

few restaurants compare when it comes to simplicity and variety. i have become addicted to the cajun with it's spicy chicken, ham, and cheesy goodness. my girlfriend always seems to order the veggie tikka masala. i have tried much of the menu, and as long as you stay with the pasties, you are fine. the potato dishes are sort of hit and miss. the cheesy one is sort of bland and the curried potato lacks the crunchiness that would otherwise put it on agreattapas menu. finally, i would add that the beer selection is quite good and offers several sizes ofgreatdraft beers from the british isles.

so yeah, food is great, and for dine in the prices are decent. my big frustration, and the reason i am writing this has to do with my experience tonight. i have taken to ordering pasties to go because the wait staff is often slow or inattentive. this is normally fine because i can stay at home and watch a movie while i eat. indeed, i have been trying to save money by ordering half-baked pasties, and in the past they have knocked a dollar off of each of the pasties i've ordered regardless of type. tonight i ordered two half-baked pasties to take home and the woman operating the cash register refused to give me the usual dollar off. very, very annoying and this is the sort of inconsistency in the staff that keeps me from awarding five stars. food=great, service=less than stellar.

all of your favorite foods baked into onegreattreat. all of the (vegetarian) pastys i have tried are amazing, and no one who has come with me as meat eaters was let down either. i have never had a pasty, but i now realize i love them.

in addition to having a ton of really tasty pastys, vegetarian and otherwise, they also have a pretty good selection of beers.

the restaurant is really small, there are like 4 two person tables, and three 4 person tables, and then a bar that borders on the kitchen so you can watch them make your food while you drink/eat. in addition to this the music is rather loud and always rockin so if you want to sit down and talk with more than 2 people it's not the best place to go.
