great food. good experience. my wife and i had lunch here monday. our meal was very good. both the pasties we had (oggie and spicy chicken asiago) were tasty. the service was excellent. the waiter was right on in helping my wife choose abeershe would like and also with pastie selections. the music was very good. the price of our lunch was entirely reasonable. the bannoffee pie we had for dessert was wonderful. we will be back on our next visit to phoenix.

these aren't glorified hot pockets... one of my top favorite places in arizona to eat! they have expanded, but i still love this orginal location in tempe. i love sitting at the bar and watching the cooks make these yummy pasties. my favorite is still the orginal "oggie", but i try new ones every time i come here. my friends tease me, but i always add a side of the mushy peas. desserts? the banoffee pie is to die for. greatbeerselection too!

the best place in tempe. this is the best place in tempe, i swear to you! i'm from michigan, where pasties are like manna, and i'm telling you that i've never had one as good as i have at cornish pasty co. the variety is fantastic, not only do they offer the classic steak and rutabaga, but all sorts of delicious stuffings such as shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, thanksgiving turkey dinner, cheeseburger and fries (yeah, that's right!), curry, greek... it's endless, really. not to mention deliciousbeeron tap and the best greek salad in the world. and it's only a salad, how can it be that good? i've been here a million times, and look forward to a million more.

me and my boy friend come here often and sit around doing car bombs for a few hours! always a good time! all the pasties that i have tried are very good, simple good eatin, its a hit or miss with the staff, sometimes they are attentive and helpfull and sometimes they dont even know that youve been sitting there for 30 minutes trying to get their attention, i mean come on the joint i tiny! another down fall is the time it takes to get your food, i know it takes time to bake the pasty but it seems to take longer than it should! half a pasty is more than enough to fill me up for just about the whole day and always look forward to heating up the other half as a late night snack! its a great place to take a load off and relax and drink some goodbeerand eat some good food! love it and would absolutely recommend it!

if you stick to thebeerand pasties, you should make out just fine.... i am writing this with both respect and frustration for this restaurant. having spent time in the uk, i was familiar with the famous "meal in a pastry" that originates from the mining town of cornwall.

few restaurants compare when it comes to simplicity and variety. i have become addicted to the cajun with it's spicy chicken, ham, and cheesy goodness. my girlfriend always seems to order the veggie tikka masala. i have tried much of the menu, and as long as you stay with the pasties, you are fine. the potato dishes are sort of hit and miss. the cheesy one is sort of bland and the curried potato lacks the crunchiness that would otherwise put it on a great tapas menu. finally, i would add that thebeerselection is quite good and offers several sizes of great draft beers from the british isles.

so yeah, food is great, and for dine in the prices are decent. my big frustration, and the reason i am writing this has to do with my experience tonight. i have taken to ordering pasties to go because the wait staff is often slow or inattentive. this is normally fine because i can stay at home and watch a movie while i eat. indeed, i have been trying to save money by ordering half-baked pasties, and in the past they have knocked a dollar off of each of the pasties i've ordered regardless of type. tonight i ordered two half-baked pasties to take home and the woman operating the cash register refused to give me the usual dollar off. very, very annoying and this is the sort of inconsistency in the staff that keeps me from awarding five stars. food=great, service=less than stellar.

yum-yum in me tum-tum!. i less than 3 this place. i've been more than a few and always leave smiling to the point of pain, full to the point of coma, and satisfied to the point of... damn, i can't think of anything to go here. the staff is friendly and fairly fast. if you like good food and a fairbeerselection this eatery will work for you. they have good happy hour drink specials as well, for those with a more liberal drinking modus operandi.

also, if your personal bubble is minuscule or nonexistent and you don't mind sitting on an unknown someone's lap then you will love the lunch rush. elbow room is the only thing that is lacking in this sardine can. man i love sardines! especially on crackers with cheese! pretty sure the cornish pasty co. doesn't have sardines on crackers with cheese though.

of the pastys i've tried so far, the porky, lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, and lamb & mint are all worthy killing an in-law or 2 for. then it's like 2 birds with one stone, one less in-law and you have a full and satisfied tummy. this is making me hungry for a pasty and a pint and a funeral!

oh yah! and the friggin' pb & j pasty is incredible!

love the pasties!. cornwall native dean thomas hit one out of the park when he deciced to open the cornish pasty company in tempe, az. a wonderful collection of made from scratch pasties (say "pass-tee"), unique desserts and some of the best examples of the brewers arts to be found anywhere on this side of the pond.
lunch or dinner will cost you less than $10.00 (without the beer) and the variety is a bit staggering. from the traditional oggie with beef, onions, potatoes and rutabaga with a lovely red wine gravy, to the adventurous lamb vindaloo with basmati rice, potatoes, lamb and a wonderfully spicy vindaloo sauce all of dean's creations are worth trying.
we have been visiting this hidden wonder for a couple of years now and have tried most of the items on the menu. (except for the vegetarian pasties which we just have not gotten to yet.) it is nearly impossible for me to pick a favorite, they are all that good!
if you enjoybeerthen dean's selections will please you. not a drab, tasteless lager in the bunch! hoegaarden on draught as well as guiness, harp and strongbow cider plus a few others to keep abeerlover happy for a long time.
the current location is quite small however and it's proximity to asu guarantees a packed house on friday and saturday nights. happily, dean is opening a second location in mesa on doson rd. and guadalupe rd. that will not only be larger but has a more open environment as well. opening has been announced for saturday, january 17th 2009 and you can bet we'll be there.
take the time to find the cornish pasty co. you will come back again and again!
