last night, catherine, moody, pere and i had dinner at thecornishpasty company in tempe. we had been talking about going there together for quite some time, so it was nice to finally be able to do it. if you've never had a pasty (pronounced pass-tea), i

let start with i am a brit. i know what acornishpasty looks and taste like. what this place serves is not it. one thing that is authentic is the service. last time i was there i waited 15 minutes for service. the staff where all chit chatting and paid no attention. i lovecornishpasties. you will get a more genuine offering at the george and dragon so go there instead

i lived in downtown phoenix and have only been to the new downtown location. didn’t see that here on zomato hence thought of leaving a review here.

we absolutely loved this dish ... unfortunately the chicken tikka and couple other chicken options were all gone so we had salmon dill pasty and lamb shepherds pie pasty. both were really filling and very delicious. i look forward to getting the much raved about chicken tikka pasty some time soon.

disclaimer: i haven’t hadcornishpasty before so i have nothing to compare what i ate here with.

i have visitedcornishpasty about 3-4 times, and loved everything i have tried out here!

i specially relished their veggie chicken tikka masala and veggie mexican.

their service is little slow - they took more than 30 minutes to start serving. so be prepared for a longish wait. ambience and seating are good.

their prices are fully justified for the great taste and generous portion sizes.

overall, i loved the experience and will be returning for more for sure!

we went to the scottsdalecornishpasty, the ambience is good with outdoor and indoor seating.
good lighting . the service was great.
we ordered starter - chicken wings , which was juicy and fresh .
for main course , we ordered pepper steak, vindaloo, and chicken tikka pasties . loved the pepper steak the most.
desserts: apple caramel pasty and chocolate bread and butter pudding. these 2 is good for 4 people. the taste is amazing and the pudding was very rich and sweet

overall a great experience!

tried their sticky toffee pudding in the 2nd visit- it's heavenly ! yumm! must have dessert!

just can't say enough.. my first visit tocornishpasty. will not be my last though. the pasty was unbelievably tasty. nice light pastry filled with the perfect ingredients. i sat at the bar and watched the young cooks carefully making each pasty. it was a sight to behold. taking so much care with each one. make sure you check out the dessert menu. although i didn't try anything, they did look and sound splendid!

greatest pasties west of the rockies that i've found!. stopped in today while passing through tempe and looked on urbanspoon for someplace tasty and yet again i was not let down.cornishpasty is a lil place that can be a bit confusing looking from the outside (actually on the hardy side of the strip mall, not on the universityside) since it has at least 3 entrances and no real markings on the doors. but once you pick a door, make your way to a table, the bar, or snag an outside seat you'll be in for a treat.

the wait staff was prompt and fast to serve me even though it seemed chaotic busy in near the kitchen (visible from the bar) and had my meal (to go) to me in less then the promised 15 minutes, with two piping hot bundles of deliciousness and two for dinner when i finally made it home tonight. ordered a rosemary steak and a cheese and onion for lunch and two half cooked (finish at home style) "oggie's" for dinner. again that was a delicious, filling, and hot lunch and dinner and i was stuffed after each all for just over $32 bucks! you cannot go wrong here it seems!

first time. as my friend and i were discussing where we should go eat, he said let's go tocornishpasty. wtf? i didn't know what it was but agreed.

this place didn't seem out of the ordinary or spectacular. while walking inside i was caught by surprise of the dimly lit environment. we sat down at these nice wooden tables, and i found myself relaxing and enjoying this cozy bar vibe.

i felt right at home and comfortable. the music that they played inside, made me question my own musical taste, as i listened to the classic rock. my friend explained the food here is like bad-ass hot pockets. i wasn't sure what to expect.

after reviewing all the items on the menu, i concluded it all sounded delicious. i ordered a thanksgiving pasty, that came with red wine gravy, and cranberry sauce.

when our plates arrived, i found myself gazing at a beautiful golden outer crust, with the two sauces in little dipping cups. the pasty was filled with turkey and chicken and stuffing. there may be more but i didn't care too much, it smelled amazing.

i grabbed one of the halves of the pasty, and noticed myself being gentle as if holding a baby, it was beautiful, and i didn't want to ruin it. i took a bite, and felt great as i remembered past thanksgivings. thanksgiving in your mouth. great right?

i ate it slow to enjoy the flavor, and used my sauces carefully. the gravy was mouth watering, and tempted me to just drink it. when i wanted to change up the flavor, the cranberry was a great addition. my mouth waters as i write this.

after finishing my first half, i realized i was contempt and full. i used a fork to stab the contents that fell out. eating here is messy, but is completely worth it.

the food is perfect.

tl;dr - the food here is great! mouth watering.10/10 dim lighting and great music/cozy environment. feels kind of like a bar, seats like a diner.

2013 update: was in tempe recently and i decided to givecornishpasty co. a try. wow...the pasties are really good! fresh made and very delicious. many varieties to suit just about anyone's tastes/preferences or appetite. i should have gone here in 2011 on my last visit!

2011: full disclosure: i did not eat here. based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews i really was looking forward to giving this place a try. what wasn't clear in the reviews i read, is this place is essentially a bar. i did not feel comfortable dining here so i opted not to stay. i'm sure the food is great; however, if atmosphere is important to you, be prepared for a college bar feel; it is of course near the asu campus. maybe next time.

food is ok if you can get served. i have been to this place 4 times and eaten there twice. last 2 time after waiting atvthe bar/counter for 15 mins with no one asking what i wanted i left.

ascornishpasties go these are ok unfortunately they o not use the distinctive shape of thecornishpasty and the pastry should be more of a short crust pastry

the best place in tempe. this is the best place in tempe, i swear to you! i'm from michigan, where pasties are like manna, and i'm telling you that i've never had one as good as i have atcornishpasty co. the variety is fantastic, not only do they offer the classic steak and rutabaga, but all sorts of delicious stuffings such as shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, thanksgiving turkey dinner, cheeseburger and fries (yeah, that's right!), curry, greek... it's endless, really. not to mention delicious beer on tap and the best greek salad in the world. and it's only a salad, how can it be that good? i've been here a million times, and look forward to a million more.

yum-yum in me tum-tum!. i less than 3 this place. i've been more than a few and always leave smiling to the point of pain, full to the point of coma, and satisfied to the point of... damn, i can't think of anything to go here. the staff is friendly and fairly fast. if you like good food and a fair beer selection this eatery will work for you. they have good happy hour drink specials as well, for those with a more liberal drinking modus operandi.

also, if your personal bubble is minuscule or nonexistent and you don't mind sitting on an unknown someone's lap then you will love the lunch rush. elbow room is the only thing that is lacking in this sardine can. man i love sardines! especially on crackers with cheese! pretty sure thecornishpasty co. doesn't have sardines on crackers with cheese though.

of the pastys i've tried so far, the porky, lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, and lamb & mint are all worthy killing an in-law or 2 for. then it's like 2 birds with one stone, one less in-law and you have a full and satisfied tummy. this is making me hungry for a pasty and a pint and a funeral!

oh yah! and the friggin' pb & j pasty is incredible!
