tasty burger... but why use kraft singles for cheese?. i tried this burger on the weekend and i have to say that it was delicious. the one thing i don't understand is why these places have to cut corners on the cheese, you have 9 quality ingredients in there, why not make it 10? that being said, once i got over the shock of seeing a kraft single on my "gourmet burger" i inhaled it and was satisfied.

(i'll try the swiss next time)

great meat in great buns. greasy but not overly so and the staff was efficient in an environment that probably could have been chaotic. probably a whole other beast late at night.

oh and the fries were tasty too!

finally a place for gluten free burgers. my husband has celiac disease and was very happy to find out that clive's will use a gluten free bun when asked.
the fries are amazing and the burgers are delicious.

mmm burgers. i thoroughly enjoy clive; their atmosphere and food is great! the fries are so delicious!! as too them being too salty, mine were perfectly fine! i love the all-natural sodas and the plethora of toppings as well.
as to some of the previous reviews; nowhere do they claim to be a "gourmet burger" joint they simply offer good ole' burgers. and i don't think you can count magazines against them; if you think it's a "health hazard" then don't partake in their reading materials, easy.

all in all, i love the atmosphere and the food and the cook burger artwork!

my interest in the place was apparently shared by many calgarians, as the place has been all the rage on the internets, along with a good number of actual human beings milling about the restaurant’s black and white surroundings when the wife and i visited.

pricey... but not greasy, all good quality ingredients and great local beer. i will definitely go back, but i'm going to save up first!

cute place to eat for cheap.. i've been to clive burger a few times, my first time trying clive was definitely the greatest.

ambiance: the wall decor and the place overall is cute. the place looked bigger than i expected from the outside! cute and simple.

food: food is definitely greasy but hey, i love a good ol' greasy burger from time to time. my favourite part is where i can customize my own burger to my liking, depending how i feel that day. from the top bun to the patty, to everything in between, i do enjoy eating at this place once in a while. the fries are delicious, i think it's because they fry it with peanut oil instead of regular grease. best part of everything is... the clive sauce! i always ask for extra clive sauce.

service: can't say much about the service since it's pretty much like a fast food joint, convenient how they have a buzzer to let you know your food's ready while you sit down at a table; very smart.

decent little place to go to; hits the spot nicely after a drunken night out with friends for sure or just a chill hang out with some friends for a quick food stop on a nice day.

tasty gluten free burger!. first time i've had a gluten free burger that didn't have soggy bread. it was very yummy. the fries were great too and they are fried in peanut oil and came with a tasty dipping sauce. i ate the whole bag. however, the smokie was pretty dry and tough. atmosphere is nice, but they could use some arcade machines or something. but i will def go back for the burger and fries!

meh - nothing special. i tried the single with cheese ($7), which isn't a bad price if the burger was good. instead they were extremely tiny and had an average taste at best. seriously, where was the meat?!? the fries ($4) were over cooked and extremely salty (trying to get customers to buy more beer?) to the point where i couldn't eat them any more. i will say that there were a lot of fries in the bag, but again what's the point if you can't eat it. with all the burger options in this city, i don't see myself heading back any time soon.

a ++ burger and shake. my visit was late on a sunday evening, so the restaurant was not too busy. service and staff were top notch! the menu is simple, which is great in my opinion. they do only a few things, so they should do them well. in fact, they do hamburgers great! i was absolutely knocked out by the quality of the double cheese i received.the bun and the fixings (hats-off to the clive sauce) were an enhancement to the overwhelmingly moist and perfectly cooked bugger patties. quite honestly, i wasn't expecting this. truly a contender for the best burger in calgary.

the fries were fine but not outstanding. the clive custard shake is a destination item all by itself. simply terrific!

very sub par. i had high expectations going in, and was very dissapointed. first, the fries were awesome! perfect crunch and their sauce with it is great. but the burger was a huge dissapointment. the meat is great, the bun is decent, but the extras are dreadful. the lettuce on my burger was wilty, old and only one small peice was on the burger. for a $7 burger that thing should have fresh produce, and enough to be satisfying. the tomato was barely there and seemed old also, skimped on the sauce, skimped on everything really.
i compare this place to alley burger (about the same price) and the food experience isnt even close. you get what you pay for at alley burger, this unfortunatly is much to much. one in my group said a big mac would have been better than this thing, so once the "hipsters" are done with this place it will be gone soon enough. ill take the poutinery right beside it any day ahead of clive burger. 2 thumbs wayyyy down

really yummy!. i've been to clive burger a few times. let me tell you, i love burgers, and i have tried many all over the cities. clive's is one of my favourites. the clive sauce is so good. their burgers are yummy and fresh. the fries are quite good, but make sure you eat them when they're super hot, otherwise they're kinda gross. the custard shakes are really thick and really good. i recommend the chocolate one. only downsides: a tad expensive for what it is, and sometimes it takes a while to make. otherwise, check it out if you're on 17th ave.

good burger, good service, gluten free taken seriously. i am the first to admit i am not a big burger lover. but, i do know a good burger, real meat and fresh fixings, when i see/ eat one!
for the first time today, we heard it was national burger day so.....clive's it was!
the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and i have to give kudo's to the staff for "gluten on deck" remark! nice to enjoy a burger~ my coworker had fries added to their order, served salt-less, but still tasty!
it is a bit more $$ then your typical fast food place, but this is real beef, real fresh, real good!!! going to have to bring hubby one date night

thank you

this is a burger place. it's way overpriced for a burger joint. the burgers good but i would much rather go anywhere else along the strip that also serves a good burger for cheaper. 2 burgers with fries and two beers was nearly 50$ ?? don't waste your money.
