finally a place for gluten free burgers. my husband has celiac disease and was very happy to find out that clive's will use a gluten free bun when asked.

really yummy!. i've been to clive burger a few times. let me tell you, i love burgers, and i have tried many all over the cities. clive's is one of my favourites. the clive sauce is so good. theirburgersare yummy and fresh. the fries are quite good, but make sure you eat them when they're super hot, otherwise they're kinda gross. the custard shakes are really thick and really good. i recommend the chocolate one. only downsides: a tad expensive for what it is, and sometimes it takes a while to make. otherwise, check it out if you're on 17th ave.

this is a burger place. it's way overpriced for a burger joint. theburgersgood but i would much rather go anywhere else along the strip that also serves a good burger for cheaper. 2burgerswith fries and two beers was nearly 50$ ?? don't waste your money.

liked it !. great burger , fresh toppings ( liked the big pickles ) , fries were also good and plentiful . very tasty chipolte sauce ! the cheese was a disappointing though , the texture and taste reminded me of craft singles . also liked the interior and artwork . will return .

the fact that the beef is home grown / hormone / antibiotic free justifies the extra price to me . how can anyone compare clive to drive throughburgers?

been here a few times. it's over priced, next time ill just stay home and make burgers. theburgersare good and real. which is what i'm guessing most people don't understand, realburgershave grease. durp! all and all it's pretty much what i expected. no diamond in the ruff here. i am going to give it a "liked it" however. all and all the price was the biggest disappointment. food was decent, place was clean and nice. average however.

easily one of the best hamburgers i've had. a nice range of toppings complement the amazingly juicy patties, made exclusively with alberta beef, i hadburgerswith clive sauce and added a fried egg and cheddar. had to have a second one! the poutine was quite good as well and the 'boozy shake' bourbon banana was pretty interesting. a must visit.

where's the beef?. first the good: great atmosphere and location, great fries, and good custard shakes. the not so good: super expensive for what you get. theburgersare good (not great) and insanely small (i.e. they are mini-burgers, you could order a triple and still have room for desert). nice place to try...ifburgerswhere better (or 2 for 1) i would be back more often.

when it first opened it was well run and theburgerswere fantastic.  i thought i would try it again, the staff hygiene was not up to food standards.  the quality of the burger was no where near it was to begin with.

i would not be surprised if this is not another casualty of the closures along 17th, not for taxes but fo quality.

sorry, you had been a favourite for a while

it's been there too long and run down i think...not as good as when it first started.  the worst part is that it does not feel clean anymore.  i saw the lady makingburgerswith no gloves.  the other one worked at both the cashier (i.e., handling $) and the kitchen making your burger ...that did not make me want to eat theirburgersanymore....

a great join forburgers& fries and clive sauce is off the chain! its like that good burger movie when ed makes the secret sauce.... well its here at clive burger. staff are verry kind and cheerful in this open concept burger joint. the ambiance itself is bright and energetic and very well lit with booths and assorted seating!

theirburgersand shakes are delicious! staff are usually very friendly, but it does take a bit of time before i actually get my food. the prices are also a bit high, but overall, i really enjoy this place and do visit from time to time.

i really like theburgersat clive but i can't justify eating here because of the price. theburgersare on the small side and the patties are quite thin, so even if you get a double (which is around $10 not including a side) you'll probably still be hungry. the other thing i don't like is how the only options for cheese are processed cheese slices, which they charge extra for. that cheese is not even close to being worth a dollar, i wouldn't even eat it if it were free. great customer service and nice interior but they need to be more realistic about what they're charging.

i used to go to clive burger about 4 years ago, regularly. i just moved back to calgary and had to check it out again. theburgersare juicy & flavourful and the bacon is definitely a must (cheese should never be forgotten - it's delicious).
my finance got the poutine with his burger and a small is definitely a fair sized portion. it has black pepper in the gravy which he enjoyed. he also got the cherry custard shake which he loved! he says he'll come back just for that!
we will definitely be back - making clive burger a regular spot again!

nice name clive burger but just how good are the burgers? located on 17ave it can be a bit of pain trying to find parking. but once you're inside you'll instantly notice their cute decor art plastered all over the walls. anyways they have a giant menu to the right where you order and first thing struck me is that damn when didburgersget so expensive? this better be one damn amazing burger to justify this price tag. i heard their shakes were to die for but i'm not fond of heavy drinks so grizzly paw sodas for $4 each was my choice.

my girlfriend got their $10 double burger and i got their $13 triple burger clive style. also a small $6 poutine to share. they have lots of seating in the back of the restaurant tucked away. but when my order was called and i gave it a glance, looked pretty promising. the burger bun is amazing, nice shape to it and pillowy. but when i took my first bite all expectations went down the drain. man what a mediocre burger especially considering the price tag. what ever happened to salt and pepper on burger patties? even with all the toppings it was just mediocrely bland even with all the toppings. what's worse was the poutine. cheese curds, check. fries, check. gravy almost like water, no thanks. man my fries were just swimming in this water gravy.

overall, clive burger was really meh. lunch for 2 was just shy over $40. quite expensive if you ask me for some simple burgers. i like their artwork and all but i probably wouldn't go back.
