yum. went there on a monday night, weather was great so the place was pretty busy. ordered a burger with pretty much all the extra toppings i could. was made quickly and was delish! pretty runny etc but was still great. could actually taste the meat. will be back to try some more offerings.

this is one of my favourite spots for a nice burger with great ambience and friendly staff. the staff are very helpful which is much needed for you can easily be overwhelmed with all the topping options when visiting for the first time. it feels great to be able to pick out the toppings and watch your burger being made. as mentioned by the previous reviewer, the fries aren't the best.

when it first opened it was well run and the burgers were fantastic.  i thought i would try it again, the staff hygiene was not up to food standards.  the quality of the burger was no where near it was to begin with.

i would not be surprised if this is not another casualty of the closures along 17th, not for taxes but fo quality.

sorry, you had been a favourite for a while

ya,  good ole clive,  thin dry burger patties, ordered onions for extra dollar weren't to many, give it a 5.5 out of 10 .. barely pass because it was warm throughout and their bun wasn't huge
poutine,  for westerner is ok,  but would make a french man cry

it is not what it once was. . . the visit last week was a bit disappointing. i have been going here since it opened a few years ago. the quality had been going up and down for the last couple of years

i would say it you think you want a clive burger, go to the national on 17th on thursdays for the clive burger and a beer for $15.00.

single burger, the buns taste fresh and delicious, the patties are not frozen. adding the egg to the burger was the cherry on top. was steady busy but they got the food out in a decent amount of time

it's been there too long and run down i think...not as good as when it first started.  the worst part is that it does not feel clean anymore.  i saw the lady making burgers with no gloves.  the other one worked at both the cashier (i.e., handling $) and the kitchen making your burger ...that did not make me want to eat their burgers anymore....

a great join for burgers & fries and clive sauce is off the chain! its like that good burger movie when ed makes the secret sauce.... well its here at clive burger. staff are verry kind and cheerful in this open concept burger joint. the ambiance itself is bright and energetic and very well lit with booths and assorted seating!

their burgers and shakes are delicious! staff are usually very friendly, but it does take a bit of time before i actually get my food. the prices are also a bit high, but overall, i really enjoy this place and do visit from time to time.

i really like the burgers at clive but i can't justify eating here because of the price. the burgers are on the small side and the patties are quite thin, so even if you get a double (which is around $10 not including a side) you'll probably still be hungry. the other thing i don't like is how the only options for cheese are processed cheese slices, which they charge extra for. that cheese is not even close to being worth a dollar, i wouldn't even eat it if it were free. great customer service and nice interior but they need to be more realistic about what they're charging.

good quality and tasty, with a pricey tag.
i ordered a double hamburger ($10), and got most of the free toppings. the bun is fantastic, soft and pillowy, and you can tell the meat is of good quality. i really enjoyed the clive sauce which is a spicy mayo type.

maybe the best burger in town. they have very tasty home made clive sauce for burger and french fries dip!!! but this time, their french fries disappointed me, the first bag of french fries they served was not well done in the center and not crispy at all. i requested to change, the second bag was well done but still not crispy at all. what’s going on? i remember they had good french fries 7 or 8 months ago.

honestly, there is nothing cuter than the little cartoon hamburgers, fries, hotdogs, etc. adorning the walls of this local burger joint. they offer single ($7), double ($10), or triple ($13) hamburgers with your choice of the usual toppings. for $1-2 more you can add a fried egg, bacon, fried mushroom, or fried onion. i got a single with cheese which was the perfect size for me. beef was well seasoned and juicy. bun was yummy. i also got a poutine. i didn't like it. the fries were drowning in a bath of gravy and were rather soggy as a result. i noticed several people grabbing poutine from next door at the big cheese and then grabbing a burger at clive lol. maybe that's the way to go. nevertheless, i will come back for the burgers, and i would like to try their smokies too!

not a bad experience overall, but i didn't find the value to be great, especially when there are so many options nearby. it's now $7 for a plain burger (cheese is extra), and the burger patties themselves are quite thin/small. my bun was toasted, but they prepped everything long before the patties were ready so by the time i got my finished burger it was not warm. the flavour was good - it kind of reminded me of a&w, to be honest! fries were overly salty for my taste.
i love their branding & decor, and the fact that they use local products, and that nearly everything is recyclable/compostable. i just probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

i used to go to clive burger about 4 years ago, regularly. i just moved back to calgary and had to check it out again. the burgers are juicy & flavourful and the bacon is definitely a must (cheese should never be forgotten - it's delicious).
my finance got the poutine with his burger and a small is definitely a fair sized portion. it has black pepper in the gravy which he enjoyed. he also got the cherry custard shake which he loved! he says he'll come back just for that!
we will definitely be back - making clive burger a regular spot again!
