had high expectations after all the positive reviews. had the burrito al pastor, and while it was good, it wasn't as good as lone star taqueria. i will try the tacos though before ruling them out.

simply delicious. at first sight i was hesitant but all i can say now is don't judge a book by its cover. all though the location and the outside of the establishment aren't much to look at, the inside is clean, the staff is pleasant and for those of you wondering, yes they speak english and the food is simply delicious. my husband is from mexico and loves taco al pastor, he always complains that there is not a place in utah that can make them right, then we tried this place and he was shocked. the plus is he found a place that makes great tacos al pastor, the downfall he wants to eat there at least once a week...we live half an hour away. so if your looking for delicious mexican food and great service i definitely recommend chungas.

stopped to eat here rather spontaneously and had a great meal! everything was fresh and full of taste. will definitely go back again.

amazing!!! the tacos are delicious! my boyfriend had the burrito enchilada style and it was great also. it is a cute little hole in the wall!

this is the best way to enjoy chunga's amazing al pastor. order the gringa. you won't be sorry!

andale pues. one of the top two al pastor tacos in utah, hands down. the other food is great too.

you know how here in the states you have tons of restaurants that sell mexican, chinese, italian, etc. etc. etc.?  i like all those types of foods, but the question is always in the back of your mind, “i wonder how good the mexican food is in mexico” or “i wonder if the pasta in venice or rome is good”

had the chicken enchiladas and chips w guacamole and it was incredible! beautiful presentation, fast and friendly service. only downside is that they don't serve beer. but will return on our next trip to slc! a gem.

i love chungas they are thinking mexico the whole way. non of this funky americanized mexican food that we all know places that are like that. chungas is the best in utah i will go there for the rest of my life. they have a great location and the service is great and the food is amazing. chungas you guys are the best.

was okay. went last friday after reading some of the reviews. i can't take real spicy food unfortunately and was told the chicken for tacos was not. it was. i tried the al pastor and it was slightly spicy but good. very small portions for the costs. they aren't regular small tacos but tiny. they only have one meno on the counter by register so you can't see what they have until you get up there. people stacked up behind you so you feel you have to make quick decision. had to go ask for my chips and salsas quite a while after my meal came. costly for lunch, over $10 without drink. may try one more time something else as i was still hungry after.

that was great!. i tried chunga's tonight. i was a little hesitant but based on all the great reviews, i thought i'd give it a go. i have to say, it did not disappoint. i tried the enchiladas with al pastor for my choice of meat. i ask them for no cilantro (vile weed) as i am allergic to it. when i got back to work (got it to go), i discovered that the guy at the counter apparently didn't understand "no cilantro" because while they did not cover it with pico de gallo, the sauce definitely had cilantro in it (not overwhelming though - it was not listed in the ingredients on the menu either). it was so good, i ate it anyway. as a matter of fact, i couldn't stop eating it, and right now, i am sitting here wishing i had more of the al pastor meat.. i will definitely be going back!!

say 'si' to al pastor. this place is fantastic. anyone who likes mexican food has to try this one. when you walk in, right behind the counter you can see the al pastor in all it's pineapple juicy spicy porky savory and sweet goodness roasting away. order it! i would get buried in this avalanche of flavor on a daily basis if i could. just about everything in the food was delicious. the beans, the rice, the meat, and also the verde were all very tasty.

don't use the excuse that it's just slightly on the wrong side of the tracks to avoid going. put your game face on, walk to the other side, and then marvel that you ever were worried about walking in. your bravery will be rewarded.

best in salt lake. this is one of the best places i have been. this is more like central mexico cuisine rather than the typical mexican food that is enjoyed in the states. excellent prices and great customer service.
