worst experience i've ever had at any restaurant, especially considering that it's supposed to be "the best". i'd give it 0 stars if i could. our waiter was raymond, he was the main problem, but the problem obviously starts with the restaurant itself.

first, we were there celebrating two birthdays. it was on our reservation and we called to confirm also. no mention was made of this at any point while we were there.

second, our waiter was absent basically the whole meal. getting his attention was next to impossible. and it wasn't due to having too many tables because there were definitely enough waiters in the restaurant. at the end of the meal, he placed the leftovers on the floor. the floor!

third, i had a problem with my meal. i said i'd think about what else to order. i had to go find a menu myself. then, he took 15 minutes to come back and see if i wanted anything. a manager never came to check on the problem either. i ended up not eating anything except bread.

fourth, the sodas ordered had no carbonation. it took over 30 minutes to get a soda back with carbonation. with no mention of the problem at any point during the wait. then, we were still charged for the sodas even though for over half the meal they were absent.

then, on arrival home, we find that the to go containers leaked and that not every item from our plates were placed in the containers! the ironic icing on a cake.

overall, it may seem like minimal things, but the reality is it was just one thing after another that were just not okay at all.

fantastic first experience. some friends had recommended chops to us a while ago, and we finally went last week. it's too bad we waited so long to check this restaurant out. from the beginning to end of our meal we were very pleased. the decor, the ambiance, and the wait staff all were superb. we found our meals to be perfectly prepared, beautifully presented and delicious. certainly there will be a return visit.

the food and service were great. the restaurant just raised the corkage fee from $25 to $35. this is a 40% increase to open your own bottle of wine. pure greed. there are quite a few other great steak restaurants nearby that don’t have such an excessive charge. i have a big personal wine collection which frankly is better wine than the restaurant serves. guess i will get my steaks at other places.

it could have been my favorite steakhouse. my husband and i went tonite for the first time. my husband ordered the porterhouse and i ordered a ribeye. i like my steaks medium rare but tend to order steaks medium as restaurants tend to undercook. i told our waitress this and she recommended ordering medium rare as it could be cooked further if not to my liking. it came bright red so i did end up sending it back for further cooking. when it came back the waitress said she would wait until i cut into the center to see if it was ok. as she could see, i had difficulty cutting it as there was so much fat and gristle. also, the steak was very black and charred (burnt) on the outside. but i said it was ok, thinking it i could deal with the charring and that a rib ribeye from a prime steakhouse couldn't all be gristly. unfortunately it was. the waitress didn't check back after that so i shared my husband's steak. when we were done eating she came back and asked if i wanted my meal boxed up. i said yes, thinking my husband, who is not at all picky about steak, would eat it. after she walked away he told me he would not eat it, it was too burnt. when the waitress returned, i told her i was going to throw it away, telling her why, and she acknowledged that she saw how it was very charred and did see that i had difficulty cutting through it. she said she'd talk to the mgr about taking it off the bill but the manager chose to give us a slice of cake instead. wrong decision. they charged us $60 for a steak we threw away. we would have been frequent customers. instead, we won't be going back.

never again!!!!. one of the worst dining experiences ever. went to celebrate my husband's birthday. we thought we would try chops as a change of pace from ruths' chris. big mistake. took a bit for anyone to come by our table to take drink orders or even fill our water glasses. their "best ever" clam chowder tasted much like campbell soup version. i ordered the watermelon chunk salad as my appetizer. i think they should take a look at the menu and how it is described. you would think for 10 bucks it would have more than two small pieces of watermelon (not yet ripe). we both ordered the dry age rib eye steaks, medium. we thought our waiter would come back so that we could order a bottle of wine, never happened. we weren't even done with appetizers when steaks arrived. looked like they had been under heat lamp for quite some time. extremely overcooked. best part of the dinner was the bread which didn't come out until the meal and the onion rings on top of steak. we left, got home and had microwave popcorn which tasted much better than anything we had at chops city grill in bonita springs.

chops in bonita. my husband, parents, and i went to chops for their early dining on the patio, which included a bottle of wine per couple, and two appetizers, and entrees. our waiter, bryan, guided us on our choices, and as a result, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner. it was a wonderful dining experience for a ver reasonable price! we highly recommend chops for their food,presentations, and service.

best steaks!. chops city grill in bonita springs has a loveley dining room and bar with an open kitchen and i try to get to this restaurant each time i visit. my last visit was 20 december 2011 and as usual, the service was friendly, knowlegable, and accomodatiung to a food allergy. the steaks for three of us were cooked to perfection and the side dishes were fabulous-i love the corn creme brulee and truffle fries. the one disappointment was that the asparagus had been overcooked but this really doesn't take away from the rest of the meal and i plan to be back in march!

nothing special. have gone here several times and have always had the same experience. steaks and prime rib are bland. prices are high which is fine for a steak house but not if what you are eating is average. atmosphere is very nice. not returning.

don't go to this place. i don't mind paying a high price menu price, but this place falls far short of many places for steak etc. water dripped from the ceiling on 2 (out of 6 of us) and had to shift on the table to miss it. the service we poor - probably because the waitress know that 20% tip/gratuity was built into the bill. never going back. cheers. rick

best steaks around. we love this restaurant! we prefer to sit at the bar as john can always be counted on for a good wine recommendation. we recommend chops over ruth chris. steaks are always done perfectly and the price is right.

best cosmos anywhere. my wife insists that john the bartender at chops bonita makes the best cosmopolitan on the planet! he says all the culinary concepts restaurants use the same recipe but she is adamant. it's crazy but we drive from naples to bonita for their happy hour. if they bring back their summer wine & dine special we may have to move.

blows ruth's crhis away. steaks are better and much better selection of seafood. best restaurant in estero by far.
