yes, cartems donuterie serves lunch . no, it's not donuts. each plate of two deep-fried "savoury donut" + small salad is $6. plus one donut...presentation is ace in texture of the fried products and colours on the plate. you are getting pricey yaletown plating in a bright, clean space amid a dilapidated looking neighbourhood. truly the definition of "neighbourhood gem".

worth a try!. i came here when it was almost closing but i managed to try some of their not so popular favourites - the fruit punch donut and the white snow one. both were tasty but i'm not sure if i would pay $3.00 for that.

so after a few brewskis and tequila shots at chihuahua’s mexican grill a light bulb turns on in my head. i was across the street from cartem’s donuterie and it was 15 minutes before their closing time! i told hammer, hawk and beer baron we had to settle up immediately so i could go order way too many donuts and force them to eat some so i felt less guilty. we walked in as the worker was just cleaning up and stacking chairs. she didn’t look too thrilled to have some last minute donut-crazed people wander in, but we were entertaining (i think) so she cheered right up. there were some slim pickings left over as they were wrapping up and when i asked her what would happen to them if they didn’t sell she said they’d be thrown out. not on my watch!

overhyped and overpriced. don't get me wrong the dough nuts are good but they aren't as good as everyone makes them out to be. yes, they have gluten free for the hipsters who hopped on that bandwagon. imho nothing there is worth the price. average at best

overall cartems is a fun and whimsical take on doughnuts. although i am not partial to everyone of their creations, i have to commend them on the variety and creativity. this was an excellent way to end our eating adventures in vancouver.

average donuts. i didn't really find anything special about their donuts. some of their flavors tasted so weird and $3 for a donut..no thanks.

the last time i visited cartems, they were still in their little pop-up shop near pigeon park. since that time, they’ve opened a permanent location on west pender, closer to the downtown core. i figured this would be a good time to do a comparison between cartems donuterie and lucky’s doughnuts.

cartems donuterie vancouver downtown is one of vancouver’s best gourmet donuts. cartems donuts has many interesting flavors such as the earl grey donut, canadian whiskey bacon, salted caramel, and the campfire smores donut. but it seems that conversation always ends up with cartems’ or lucky’s ? i must say, now that cartems has moved to 534 w pender st, i feel a lot more inclined to go when before when cartems was in downtown eastside. after struggling on which flavor to order, we finally settled on the campfire smores and the apple pie fritter. cartems donuts also offer vegan and gluten-free donuts. there are even baked donuts to give you a lighter alternative to the traditional fried donut. cartems donuts are made with fresh local ingredients. donuts are never frozen.     campfire smores donut: i really like the light chewy texture of the marshmallow. the donut was chocolaty and was dense. i like how it wasn’t too sweet. this would be perfect with a cup of hot espresso coffee or hot chocolate.     apple pie fritters: stuffed with apple pie filling and reminds me of the mcdonald’s apple pie. this donut is a such a comfort food with a sweet and tart taste. the glaze itself was light and wasn’t overly sweet. my only wish is to get this donut when it’s freshly made! imagine that!   cartem donuts are $3 per donut, $15 for half dozen or $30 per dozen. advance orders available online.     cartems donuterie url: http://cartems.com/ cuisine: donuts, dessert hours mon 8:00 am – 8:00 pm tue 8:00 am – 8:00 pm wed 8:00 am – 8:00 pm thu 8:00 am – 8:00 pm fri 8:00 am – 10:00 pm sat 10:00 am – 10:00 pm sun 10:00 am – 6:00 pm     534 w pender st, vancouver, bc v6b 1v3 (778) 708-0996 the post cartems donuterie vancouver | best donuts appeared first on .

...have you been to cartems donuteri lately?…. what i loved hearing about was that unlike many of us this young “to be donut master” had a dream and followed it to make it come true.
this is not a permanent location but rather a pop up!

tried the whiskey bacon donut and the pumpkin cheesecake donut and both were not very good. the bacon donut tasted as though the donut was not properly drained of oil after frying - so the predominant flavour was of oil. the pumpkin cheesecake donut was an absolute mess. the bottom of the donut was a wet and soggy mess! the filling also tasted as a bit sour too, as though it was a bit off. i would not recommend cartems donuterie.

not really a big fan. the staff are super friendly and nice....but the donuts are very expensive and nothing special imo. i wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

their cake dough donuts are addiction-inducing. they have made me diabetes-agnostic.
i don’t care for the citrus dust, the vanilla, the chocolate, the bacon, and whatever the hell else they put on the icing. the ultra-sweet plain glaze of the original is good enough for me. it works perfectly with the slightly bouncy, snappy, completely not powdery, not-too-moist-and-not-too-dry, and clean-biting texture of the cake dough.
