after sandwiches at finch’s we wandered down the street to cartems donunterie, they recently (not really, but in my head) moved down to pender street and i had been wanting to try them since their days as a pop up shop. what we ate  (going clockwise, starting with the bacon one)  canadian whiskey bacon – whiskey! bacon! maple! o, canada! this was the first time i’ve had a bacon donut where i feel like the bacon legitimately made it better instead of just being a gimmick the earl grey – an earl grey infused donut, topped with an earl grey glaze and rose petals. this donut was amazingly moist and theflavourswere spot on. it was my favourite! the dark knight – chocolate cake donut topped with brownies and nuts. a chocolate lovers dream! apple pie stuffie – i’m convinced there was around half an apple shoved into this! unlike what you would expect in a stuffed donut there were actual huge chunks of apple in here. i couldn’t get over it! unfortunately i felt the apple filling wasn’t sweet

right in the middle of the downtown east side, you’ll find this donut pop-up shop. the hype for this store has been amazing. you really have to follow them on twitter @cartemsdonuts for operation hours and statuses. it’s not uncommon for them to sell out of the most popularflavourswithin hours. and it’s not uncommon for people to wait 20 minutes in line for a donut. ah, but these are not ordinary donuts, these treats are handmade daily using one local ingredients. the donuts are then fried in organic coconut oil for extra flavour. they also come in vegan and gluten free varieties. theirflavoursare also unique. take for instance their best seller, the london fog donut –  a cake donut lightly infused with earl grey tea and topped with an earl grey glaze. or their maple bacon bourbon, which really should be tried to be believed, and yes, that is real bacon pieces on top of the donut. now locally-sourced quality ingredients equal a better quality product that costs more. a dozen donuts

pretty good doughnuts - lots of fun, innovativeflavoursthat aren't simply gimmicky. imo lucky's is the best doughnut shop in vancouver but! lucky's is good for doughnuts that are fruity and have fillings. cartems is really good at getting their dough just right. their dough is more flavourful so if you're not into doughnuts with fillings, this is your place 🍩✨❤

cartems is just plain great. i know that they are technically not gluten free and hide under the safety blanket of 'gluten-friendly' (whatever that even means), but so far (knock on wood), i've yet to suffer because of them. which is freakin' amazing because who would want to live the majority of their life without donuts? and especially donuts of this caliber! theflavoursthey come up with are so creative! but more importantly, delicious.

get the gluten-free earl grey donut! it's the perfect blend offlavoursand not as oily for a donut. i promise you won't want to share it with other people. these donuts are great if you buy a box of 6 or 12 and then cut them into ¼ pieces and share them with a group of friends or party. they make great snacks and conversation starters 😛 and no one ends up feeling like a fatty.

for the christmas season, cartems introduced a few newflavoursand on this one day where i was craving some donuts, i picked up half a dozen cartems donuts. half a dozen donuts costs $18, which could be considered on the pricey side. but their flavour combinations are quite unique and very enjoyable.

coming to cartems is always a treat! we love getting the specialtyflavourseach time we visit (rather than their regular selection - which are delicious as well).

donuts here are amazing and quite unique. they got a diverse variety of donuts with incredibleflavourslike london fog or jade rice pudding. their donuts not only taste amazing, but they look the part too. no wonder this place is so popular, the donuts make your mouth water! the actual store is a very nice inside and the staff there is quite friendly. recommend this place to anyone bored of your regular old donuts and looking for some good quality crazy flavours. only downside to this place is the price. 3.50 a donut is decently expensive for a donut, but still its worth to go here every so often for a treat.

as a donut snob, i was very excited to come across a place that specializes in donuts! they definitely pass the test!! the staff were very friendly and helpful. they answered all my questions about the interestingflavoursavailable. i went close to closing time and was urged to come back when the show case is full. i had the honey parmesan donut. it was delicious. the parm was not over powering and it had just the right amount of sweetnes.- i can't wait to go back!! woo for donut-love!

artistan donuts are just different. i've never had a particular liking towards donuts, but decided to try cartems after hearing so many positive reviews. there were quite a variety offlavoursto choose from; i went with the vegan earl grey. it was sooo delicious! the baked donut was fluffy and packed with a fragrant earl grey flavour. the icing was subtly sweet and paired beautifully. i think i tasted a hint of vanilla in there too. it wasn't a super sugary treat and didn't leave me feeling weighed down and guilty for eating a donut. in fact, i probably could've gotten another one. $3 for a donut includes taxes, and is worth it! can't' wait to come back to try more donuts and their "milk on tap"!
