pretzels n brew. while touring dc, we stopped in to try their microbrews. i enjoyed a couple of them with their baked, warm pretzels. definitely stop in if you're in that area!

the fish tacos were great–they were in what was supposed to be a corn tortilla. it looked like a flour tortilla to me, but tasted like corn, so i’m not sure. the tacos were flavorful and not too spicy, which was perfect. they were small, but that was okay since i had eaten a 1/2 a bagel on the go after getting off the train not too long before.

never a bad experience. my wife and i have eaten at this brewery about ten times in the last year. we've both been very happy with our food every time we go. the free warm, soft pretzels you are served with every meal (in place of the same old bread basket) are always something to look forward too as well. there's something about that horse radish dipping sauce that makes you crave more.

for being a brewery, the selection is pretty good too. i prefer the capitol kolsch and the amber waves ale. they have season brews that are excellent to try if you enjoy sampling micro brews.

for the entree's, she enjoys sticking to some of her favorite choices like the ahi tuna steak sandwich but i try to sample different items every time. i have almost half the menu wiped out and i have always enjoyed everything. hitting up the brewery during the happy hour is an excellent way to try the appetizers for a great price. the turkey sliders are a personal favorite for us.

lastly, you can't go to the capitol city brewery and not get dessert. the monumental brownie is a must have on any serious dessert lover. you want to try this place!

that's no hefeweizen.. i think the waiter made a mistake and brought me the wrong beer, which was supposed to be a hefeweizen but didn't taste at all like one (and didn't have a slice of lemon or orange). he insisted it was a hefeweizen, so it's possible that they just make the worst hefeweizen. tried the pretzel/cheese dip and the pear chicken salad = average.

from a former dc resident. i though this place was really good. i had never been here when i actually lived in dc (ok, montgomery county md) but was really impressed with my recent visit. the place was pretty empty, which probably accounted in part for the quick service. but our waiter was friendly and helpful. there are so many complaints about the service that i have to assume they have some real issues at times, but not what i saw.

i thought the atomic wings were excellent. no, they werent all that spicy. but they were meaty and crispy. if you like them hotter, i am sure they had extra tabasco.

the beers were very good. so were the salads and burgers. i wouldn't go too far off the burger type foods at any of these kids of places.

i am curious about those who referred to the place as a tourist trap. really? i could see a before/after a game joint and friday happy hour for sure. but tourists wouldn't naturally fall upon this place the way they would like the hard rock.

to sum - i liked it. good burgers, wings and beer. i don't care what the rest of the menu was like.

not so bad. stopped in here a few times... they are always pretty busy but the food is good. their beers are pretty tasty, i recommend their red white and blue beer. they do have a few tv's for watching sports. the restaurant was really hot inside. one time i went and it was about 80 degrees inside... rather had and poor circulation.

service was amazing, but the food was cheap and not great at all. then again, what do you expect from a tourist trap?

the beer is good but not great, and the food is average. the whole experience was undone by the terrible waitress who seemed to be inconvenienced by the fact that we were there to eat. i would make the trip to falls church to go to dogfish head. they have some of the best beer in the us, and the food is better.

this is a fine microbrewery, the beers where of a high quality and delightful. they lack variety in their beers, mostly american pale ales, which were good but i would have liked more variety. highly recommend the kolsch.

worst meal i've had in dc. it took an hour to get any food. our atomic wings had no heat at all. my jambalaya was the worst i've ever had. it tasted like ragu spagetti sauce! the beer was better then the waimea brew comany.
