in dc on business and the concierge recommended this place when i said i was in the mood for a beer. my waiter, cory was friendly and helpful. the food (fish and chips) was above average, and the beer was great. i was comped a free beer when cory brought the wrong one (i didn't notice but he insisted), and i enjoyed them both. i'll be back for the beer and probably a burger next time. someone dropped off ballparkpretzelsat my table without saying anything. i don't know if this is normal, but they were delicious. excellent spicy mustard.

very reasonably priced in downtown washington, dc. family enjoyed grilled chicken sandwich, fish and chips, and bratwurst entrees. draft beers at lunch were $5 each. plus the complimentarypretzelswere a hit too. highly recommend this establishment.

great lunch spot. my friends and i stopped in for a late lunch on a saturday and enjoyed the big, lively bar area. thepretzelsand dip were terrific. i had an excellent salad with seared tuna--it was big, fresh and very tasty. service was very good as well. i also enjoyed a great seasonal beer.

capital city stays open later then most of the other restaurants in the grand hyatt vicinity, since we often eat out late it worked out great for us. thepretzelswith the horseradish dipping sauce are a great starter! the mini turkey hot dogs were a great appetizer! i enjoyed a turkey burger with the vegetables mixed into the meat; it was nice & juicy & was paired with sweet potato fries... yum! my boyfriend thought the steak was decent.

never a bad experience. my wife and i have eaten at this brewery about ten times in the last year. we've both been very happy with our food every time we go. the free warm, softpretzelsyou are served with every meal (in place of the same old bread basket) are always something to look forward too as well. there's something about that horse radish dipping sauce that makes you crave more.

for being a brewery, the selection is pretty good too. i prefer the capitol kolsch and the amber waves ale. they have season brews that are excellent to try if you enjoy sampling micro brews.

for the entree's, she enjoys sticking to some of her favorite choices like the ahi tuna steak sandwich but i try to sample different items every time. i have almost half the menu wiped out and i have always enjoyed everything. hitting up the brewery during the happy hour is an excellent way to try the appetizers for a great price. the turkey sliders are a personal favorite for us.

lastly, you can't go to the capitol city brewery and not get dessert. the monumental brownie is a must have on any serious dessert lover. you want to try this place!

i'm not too impressed with any aspect of this restaurant. features of this restaurant include: they brew their own root beer, serve softpretzelsbefore every meal, and have a wide menu selection. i strongly advise against ordering anything with chicken in it, because two members of my party who ordered chicken dishes both reported the chicken to be bland and of low quality. my pizza was on par with anything an amateur chef could have whipped up. my brother pointed out that the horseradish served with thepretzelswas gnarly.
