very good! i expected touristy, but it was much better than that. decent beer and the fish tacos, deep fried beans and reuben were all really good. the place was packed and the service was relatively quick and accurate. i would recommend to anyone looking for decent beer and well above average food. we sat at a table, but the bar looks like the perfect place to watch your favorite sporting event and eat/drink well.

probably the worst brewpub experience i’ve ever had was courtesy of capital brewing company. first of all, it took forever to get seated, despite the fact that the restaurant seemed to be half empty. strike two, a lot of their beers were empty, the ones that they did have were mediocre at best, and they were overpriced. the service took forever and the food was a bit on the chilly side when served. all of this stacked up to create a rather blah performance. the two bright spots were the location – a beautiful old building that must have been a bank or something judging by the vault by the entrance – and the flavor of the food. the meatloaf was pretty good and the onion straws on top complimented the saltiness well with more salt. original review the restaurant itself is extremely promising, but it didn’t deliver in any way, shape, or form. i believe th

soon, appetizers were served, and i immediately locked onto the plates of buffalo and old bay wings.  there were several other non-wing items presented, but i don't recall what they were.  brushing all conversation aside, i plucked a couple wings from each plate.  i usually don't order 'old bay' anything because i imagine the seasoning applied to the ordered food item with one of those baseball game t-shirt cannons: to m

delish. when we went, it was happy hour and beer was $2 a glass, which my husband really liked. we both got burgers and they were delicious, great service, and decent price!

first time visit-had to go for a second round. found this restaurant through the site. went there first night in dc since it was close to hotel. first night we went and had the calamari for appetizer. we then had the crab cakes with fries and coleslaw and swiss burger with veggie side. food hard to choose from great menu. food was pretty good. waitress a little slow. atmosphere busy, friendly and eclectic-families, couples, groups and after work workers. had to go back a second time. it's time we had the fried green beans -yum...the pear salad with blueberry pomegranate vinaigrette---delish!!! soooo goood

the food isn’t gourmet, or that high of quality. in fact, its just average. but, if you’re going to a sports bar with that in mind, you’ll find respectable food at affordable prices with plenty of tvs to watch the game. food snobs should stay clear, however.

this marks my second visit.

our experience was much better this time, but the service was confusing. we had two waiters who kept tripping on each other and brought us the wrong food. that wasn't an issue for us, though. it was caught quickly and corrected quickly.

the problem we had was that it took 27 minutes from the time we finished up until someone came back to give us a check. the waiters seemed more concerned with closing out their other tickets and counting tips. we thought that when we said we were finished that we'd get a check a little more quickly than 27 minutes.

the name on the check only said server 468 card p, so i don't know who our waiters were.

other than the end of service, it was great. just don't forget your tables!

boisterous, festive pub feel. if you want quiet and secluded, look elsewhere. this is a typical noisy, crowded brewpub. i like noisy crowded brewpubs, so i was right at home. being a brewpub, they also have wonderful beer. the capitol kölsch and pale rider ale were my two favorites. however, i don't live in the area so i don't get to go very often.

delicious salmon. let me preface this review by saying that i ate here as part of a very large group, so the particulars of my dining experience could have been manifestations of that type of dining.

it was pleasantly surprising that while i had already chose my entree as part of a group package, i still got and got to choose my choice of salad and dessert. for the main dish, i must say, the sides were not piping hot when they arrived to me, but the salmon was exceedingly delicious and perfectly done (and nice and warm). i would return gladly for more of the salmon.

as far as drinks, i don't know from personal experience, but other diners in my group said that the wine wasn't the best and was rather expensive by the glass. perhaps that's due to the fact the restaurant is a brewery and not a winery!

though it has been in the district many years, i am now realizing why people like hanging out at captiol city brewing company afterwork.   captiol city brewing company offers patrons a spacious atmosphere with plenty of flat screen televisions to watch the latest sports craze.  there is a large circular bar which anchors the restaurant to give all patrons plenty of room to mingle.  on my visit the restaurant hosted a tapping party and the featured drink was fuel beer , which i decided to give a try.  the description was intriguing where the ingredients did not add up, so i had to try it to see if such a combination truly existed.  the taste was very unique where they nailed creating a beer with a coffee undertone.  a good beer, happy hour, and an entertaining atmosphere? enough said.  i will return.  the beer paired alongside the capitol city wings with golden barbeque sauce was just what

great lunch spot. my friends and i stopped in for a late lunch on a saturday and enjoyed the big, lively bar area. the pretzels and dip were terrific. i had an excellent salad with seared tuna--it was big, fresh and very tasty. service was very good as well. i also enjoyed a great seasonal beer.

good for beer, maybe?. i wouldn't come here again for the food. the first time i visited i had a salad, with chicken, and it was nothing special. the second time i came i got the turkey burger--it was very mealy, as it had too many breadcrumbs in it. the fries were decent. i won't be back.
