a nice cozy café in the bustling white town! i loved the ambience and the courteous service of the staff. an exhaustive menu of items too. i loved the chocolate almond coconut cake! the price was also very reasonable for the quality. a mustvisitfor anybody who’s in pondicherry!

this has to be one of the most overhyped cafes in all of pondicherry and honestly speaking it was worth the hype
.
on my recentvisitto pondicherry i visited various cafes but this one provides good food within a good budget comparatively
.
this place is usually crowded on weekends and to my suprise it wasn't crowded on a sunday saturday afternoon which is quite shocking
.
the place has a beautiful ambience and vibrant colours
.
we ordered some croques which is a toasted sandwich filled with veggies and chicken. it was filling and honestly worth every penny
.
also ordered a freshly baked waffle which was good too
.
the cafe also has some merchandise which are for sale to the customers

worms in caesar salad

we ordered a caesar salad and there were live worms in the salad.

when i confronted the manager, she smiled and said ‘i heard you found a little friend in the salad’
as per her, this was no big deal.

this manager lady named adele de ( i may not have captured her name accurately) was brazenly rude and very shamelessly said to us that we can post this on social media if you want.

we had a toddler with us and i am never visiting this place again.

the food was below average and with this management, this was my first and lastvisitto it.

i visited cafe des arts a few years back. it is so great to see that the cafe has retained the quality that i so fondly remember. we had some sandwiches(monsieur and chicken) and crepes. both of which were awesome. crepes are a must have here. the ambience of the cafe induces a serenity, it is so chic and pretty. the prices are reasonable and portion sizes are more than sufficient. i will recommend 100%visitthe place while you are in pondicherry

cafe des arts was recommended to me by a lot of people, and i thought i'd give it avisitwhile in white town.
i was welcomed by some intriguing and quirky wall art on a 19th century building. the interiors are great too, giving the homely vibe with comfortable seating. there's outdoor seating too, with well laid out tables. the restaurant walls are adorned with contemporary art and souvenirs: overall, very pleasing. there's also a book shelf with good options and a fashion boutique of sorts if you'd want to explore more. 5/5 for the ambience!

coming to the food, i must say that i expected much more. the veg options were limited, i ended up ordering the much talked about dessert crepes that was pretty average. the coffee i ordered was decent, and so were the savoury crepes i ordered. the sandwiches were pretty underwhelming and could've been much better. but they definitely don't justify the price. a 3/5 for f&b. the service is prompt and helpful, no problems there.

i would recommend this place to shutterbugs, and to those who look for the experience and ambience, as opposed to the food in itself.

overall, a 3.5/5 from my end.

this place is such a beauty❤️ cafe des arts has my heart, trust me!

if french cafe is your thing then should never miss tovisitthis place. i just can't stop admiring this place coz it's just beautiful. the whole french vibe here is just captivating.

this place serves amazing salad which you should definitely give a shot. i think i had the best greek salad here. do try their fruit salad too, looks so colorful and yet healthy.

food with shopping, what an absolute delightful combination! this place has some quirky printed clothing collection with some great footwear, which you should definitely check out.

the cafe was one of our mustvisitplaces in pondy and it did not disappoint.

like a few other places such as coromandel cafe, it is an old villa converted into an eatery. the ambience is very relaxed and we saw a couple of folks sitting with their laptops and a cup of coffee.

we had the waffle with chocolate spread, the crepe with jam, an orange juice and a cappuccino. the waffle was amazing - very light, fluffy and crispy. it paired well with the chocolate spread. the crepe was also very good - thin, and soft. the jam was a bit disappointing. would recommend alternate pairings.

it is reasonably priced. on the whole, would definitely recommend.

short review: good ambience, mediocre food, poor service, unreasonably expensive, bucket list check off that's all!
long review: the place has an amazing ambience but the food and service is sub par. they are short on waiting staff and the same guys also are at billing. thus, they are very slow when it comes to service, funnily it's also mentioned on their menu that the service will be slow. it's so slow that by the time my tea reached my table it was already cold, additionally the tea cup had someone's lipstick stain on it, probably not properly cleaned and once he changed the cup and got it back i got cold tea. the masala omlette was not satisfactory and too oily. scrambled eggs were way to bland for my taste. the toasts offered on the side were way too dry and hard to be edible for human consumption. if you want to enjoy a good ambience dovisitbut do know that the food won't leave you satisfied.

this is an iconic cafe situated in the quiet streets of white town. a mustvisitplace on every tourist's list who visits pondicherry. the ambiance and decor of this cafe is really beautiful. it has a quaint little library as well in case if you want to spend some quiet time reading books while having delicious food. i visited this place for breakfast and during myvisiti tried their scrambled eggs with fried bacon strips, creole sandwich and some hot chocolate. the eggs were creamy and utterly delicious. the bacon was a little disappointing for me as i found it too greasy. the sandwich was nice and the pairing of soft chicken with slightly hard bread was really good. the hot chocolate and coffee made it the wholesome breakfast.

it has a nice ambience and a vibrant and a young vibe without a doubt..service is decent and prompt.

felt to google's must try outlet but was dissapointed.

now coming quickly to food, i do understand everyone has their own set of taste buds...and knowing my taste buds well i will prefer not tovisitagain.

what we ordered is listed below :)

1. chicken croque: was expecting a full burst of chicken, but it was way lighter in quantity(chicken), taste wise it was not that bad. however the sour dough they use is pretty hard.

2. bacon and egg sandwich: again nothing extraordinary just a bulky dough with a pinch of flavour.

3. toast with butter and jam: serve unsalted butter, bread again is extremely hard even if its comes to room temperature from hot.

4. masala omlette: its a regular omlette.

5. ham and cheese crepe: this was little different in taste and felt good to eat something finally.

6. apple compote crepe: this was again a good to taste dish, mildly sweet and must try i would say

7. hot choclate and cold coffee: they prepare it un-swetened, you may add sugar as required but the taste is really not up to the mark.
