went in on a monday morning around mid day, was offered a place in some discreet corner where there was one seat and one foot stool despite empty seats. then no one came for the next 15 minutes while they were just in front of us, engaging the other tourists read white folk. we walked off post that, in hindsightgreatdecision - quantities looked really tiny for the price and garbage service.

if you’re on a look out for insta worthy cafes in pondicherry then cafe des arts should definitely be on you’re list. cafe des arts is famous for its yellow walls. the ambience and decor of this café is really beautiful. it’s more popular for its fancy artwork than its food. classic decor with painted walls, write ups and a tricycle auto rickshaw at the entrance. even though the food was average but the overall experience was good. one can get somegreatpictures here.

i visited cafe des arts a few years back. it is sogreatto see that the cafe has retained the quality that i so fondly remember. we had some sandwiches(monsieur and chicken) and crepes. both of which were awesome. crepes are a must have here. the ambience of the cafe induces a serenity, it is so chic and pretty. the prices are reasonable and portion sizes are more than sufficient. i will recommend 100% visit the place while you are in pondicherry

cafe des arts was recommended to me by a lot of people, and i thought i'd give it a visit while in white town.
i was welcomed by some intriguing and quirky wall art on a 19th century building. the interiors aregreattoo, giving the homely vibe with comfortable seating. there's outdoor seating too, with well laid out tables. the restaurant walls are adorned with contemporary art and souvenirs: overall, very pleasing. there's also a book shelf with good options and a fashion boutique of sorts if you'd want to explore more. 5/5 for the ambience!

coming to the food, i must say that i expected much more. the veg options were limited, i ended up ordering the much talked about dessert crepes that was pretty average. the coffee i ordered was decent, and so were the savoury crepes i ordered. the sandwiches were pretty underwhelming and could've been much better. but they definitely don't justify the price. a 3/5 for f&b. the service is prompt and helpful, no problems there.

i would recommend this place to shutterbugs, and to those who look for the experience and ambience, as opposed to the food in itself.

overall, a 3.5/5 from my end.

if french cafe is your thing then should never miss to visit this place. i just can't stop admiring this place coz it's just beautiful. the whole french vibe here is just captivating.

this place serves amazing salad which you should definitely give a shot. i think i had the best greek salad here. do try their fruit salad too, looks so colorful and yet healthy.

food with shopping, what an absolute delightful combination! this place has some quirky printed clothing collection with somegreatfootwear, which you should definitely check out.

been here for an afternoon brunch. this place has agreatambiance. best place to sit and gossip. food is good as well. we took a croque monsieur and a forrest tartine(open sandwich). i would highly recommend the tartines. i never had a open sandwich before and loved the taste. the price i thought was a little on the higher side but then its ok looking at the overall experience.

a beautifully designed cafe with indoor and outdoor areas serving delicious food. we went here for breakfast and ended up having a loaded brunch.

located snuggly on suffren street in white town, pondicherry, is this gorgeous cafe beautifully decorated with artistic and quirky matter. almost a century old, this cafe is the perfect place to enjoy the true energy of pondicherry.

as you enter, you will be welcomed by a colourful rickshaw which is agreatspot to click some amazing selfies. you can choose to sit out or inside, either way it is wonderful. a huge wooden closet containing books welcome you as you step inside the cafe. do check out some of the old and quirky knick knacks that have been spread across the cafe to do some photography. there is also a small boutique inside if you wish to shop something organic.

one of the most popular places in pondicherry widely famous for its yellow wall. the food somehow was just average but the ambiance is worth a visit. i found the place a bit overpriced which was compensated by the beautiful interiors and vintage collection this place has. overall a good place to have some decent food but somegreatpictures.

a simple croissant and masala chai.. perfect indian...greatfor an evening french style tea time.. nice place..

two stars only for the decor andgreatmarketing strategies used at this place. the food was really disappointing. we ordered for a croque cordon bleu and croque madame. both came with an accompaniment of baby potatoes which were really large in portion size and under seasoned. the dressing was high on vinegar amd tasteless. the croque madame is supposed to be nice layers of creamy bechamel on a lean bread. this was assembled with really thick slices of bread which were difficult to at first cut through and then also chew. sadly the only good item we ordered was the lemon soda. all in all it was too much starch on the plate and yet dry and difficult to consume it all, lemon soda was a saviour through it all.

it was my last day in pondicherry and after seeing all the instagram captures with #pondicherry, i couldnot think of missing out on the graffiti walls of cafe des arts' so i planned to visit this place for a good breakfast and some pictures before i leave for chennai.
i would highly recommend this place if you want to explore the enviroment and experience the french culture.
but food was not exceptionallty very great, i even returned one of my order which was 'mint green juice' or something like that which was just water mixed with mint and nothing else.
but overall i hadgreatclicks for my insta feed so silver linings
