this is from yet another girls’ night out i went to with another set of my girlfriends. we met at cactus in kirkland and had a good time there. it was crowded and there was long wait as it was a friday night, but we scored some seats at the bar and ordered drinks while we waited for our table. we had a few other things, but i remember the butternut squash enchiladas which are one of myfavoritethings to eat there and we also had the roasted potatoes tacos ( i don’t have a picture of that) which was pretty delicious too. the three milk cuban flan was so out of the world but the cowgirl brownie was very so-so. overall, we had a good time there!

myfavoritespot in kirkland. always a great vibe here even though it's often hard to get a spot at the bar during happy hour ( their chips and salsa are on fleek). as a vegetarian i am definitely spoilt for choice here but myfavoriteare the mushroom chipotle quesadilla and the chile relleno. wash it all down with their brilliant margaritas, and all is well with the world.

as a first timer i couldn't help but notice how popular this place was as people buzzed around and we were told our wait time was 45 minutes. my friend told me it's worth the wait even though we were famished.

as we chatted and helped ourselves to their delicious guacamole and tortilla chips, i decided to order their housefavoritesonoran spa chicken as my main. our maitre"d assured me i won't regret it. indeed she was right in a jiffy we had our meals, can't remember what my friend had ordered but she kept saying it was awesome and asked me to try some.

loved the food, the ambience and the service. highly recommended, will definitely visit this place again when i'm next in seattle.

what a wonderful find!. been looking in seattle for a "go to" spot for mexican that matches ourfavoriteportland spot, "por que no". saw the reviews and menu and thought this may just work. well we weren't disappointed. arrived around the brunch hour on superbowl sunday and there wasn't a whole lot going on, so had full attention from the staff. we had quesadilla, egg burrito and a chicken chop salad. i love the blend of different flavours, everything was done so well. they accommodated all my special requests for the salad. only one comment, the addition of bacon to the chicken quesadilla just doesn't work, so if you're considering ordering one with "skip the bacon", that would be the right choice. our server was so friendly and they treated us to dessert being first timers (and out of town tourists!). the flan is delish. the neighborhood is reminiscent of a cali coastal town. can't wait to go back when the weather is nice, this will be a good spot.

lovely meal & great atmosphere. we just had an excellent dinner at cactus - good food and prompt, friendly and informative service. it was a sunny summer evening and although we were inside, the big glass sliding windows were open so the street cafe feel extended inside.

the calamari appetizer has a thin, crispy corn coating which contrasted nicely with the juicy squid - very nice take on a familiar dish. the guacamole was fine, but nothing special (boudreau's in san antonio has myfavoriteguacamole).

my husband's pork steak adobe was a big hit, and my crab tamales were good, but the sides and sauces were better than the tamales.

i should have asked about the iced tea - it was "tropical" but it tasted like i was drinking my kids' shampoo :(
