bellevue - the oberoi amarvilas

i went here a few days back and i must say the 6 course meal was mind blowing. from the taste to the presentation of the dishes everything was up to the mark. thehotelis a treat to the eye and the staff here is so kind and knowledgable. it was a great experience

excellent is not the word to describe this restaurant. being oberoihotelrestaurant, the service, hygiene, decor is impeccable.
coming to food, the quality of each item is superb. while staying at the hotel, we had several meals here and cannot find a fault with any thing.
my wife casually happened to mention to the chef that she would like to have some thing gujarati. we forgot about it but chef saurabh went out of the way to fulfill the same and next day informed us and served the full gujarati meal including dal dhokli, thepla, gujarati kadi, khichdi and each item was the comparable with the best that i ever had. he even enlisted help of a gujarati lady from other department ms sheel for preparation and it was so good that we told her that she ought to be a chef herself.

extra ordinary is the word.
firstly i am pleased to see such hospitality and ambience of thehotelwhich was beyond amazing. water fountains at the entrance added grace.
the ambience of the restaurant though was ordinary. food was amazing and so was hospitality. we had good north indian snacks and food.

food:8/10
ambience: 6/10
hospitality: 9/10

they specially arranged a cake for birthday.

thehotelis no doubt outstanding but the experience in the restaurant was really disappointing. the no of cost bakery items that were served before the main course was of inferior quality and the same was conveyed to the staff and chef and what came as a surprise was a simple sorry. the green thai curry with jasmine rice was no exception either. never wanted to highlight it here but it is also a forum to shared what we have actually experienced. the brand name itself catches us many to explore but i was little downhearted .

place is amazing ! oberoihotelis just wonderfull.
the bellevue restaurant is the only one open to non resident of the hôtel and not so chraming place, quite "cold" decoration compare to other restaurant in the hotel. but appart from that, it was delicious ! plus the service was perfect. it is expansive but it is oberoi and it is worth it !

best luxurious dinning restaurant in agra you could find and what a place to locate ahotelwith a royal feeling the i had roghanjosh and butter garlic naan what a great lamb tender and juicy.....

this review has been pending for many years now. went to see the taj and on the way back, stopped here for lunch. the food is quite overpriced but is very good.

food
chicken tikka masala curry was succulent. gravy had a nice balance of spices. the complementary green peas curry and dal were too tasty. papad were fresh and crispy. my friend had chicken lasagne and was all praise for it.
the complementary sides which included the green peas curry, dal and papad made our order a complete meal.

ambience
great ambience. it's spacious. the window seats have a nice view. 

service
the staff is courteous. they have knowledge about what's on the menu and are capable of providing suggestions. 
regarding my visit, at first they got my order of chicken tikka masala curry confused by the starter chicken tikka. upon explaining it to them, they were quick to acknowledge the mistake and even offered the starter chicken tikka complementary. i had to put down their offer as i could only eat one dish as per my appetite.


second visit:
the photos are from my second visit to this place. the service at thehotelwas absolutely amazing. they were so respectful and took great care of us despite we being late for lunch. they seated us at a nice place while our table was being set up.

the food itself was good. we had a chicken curry, breads and biryani. the biryani was quite tasty and aromatic.

ambience - 5/5 (one of the most beautifulhoteli've been to)
service - 2/5 (i ordered 2 fire on the ice mocktails as the first order, which were delivered after 3 request during main course...)
food - 3.5/5 (taste is good though not value for money)
options - main-course 4/5 (you won't have too many options but slightly better than average options in 5*...)
starters - 2/5 (after waiting for 20 minutes, our guests opted main course and in between mere 1 veg and 1 non veg starter was served)

worth a visit - yes if value for money is not critical for you (for above average food in great ambience)
i'm hopeful seeing other comments that it might have been a bad day for us to have faced below average service which likely is good otherwise.

had a few meals apart from breakfast here when we stayed at the oberoi amarvilas. this is their all day fine-dine restaurant and has a combination of indian and continental cuisines. the ambience here is classy, and the views of thehotellawn from one side are nice.

the wait staff and servers are really attentive to your needs and wants, and are happy to make suggestions. they serve fresh bread while you wait on your food, which is good. wife and i gorged on their salads and pastas during our few visits here and we were never disappointed.

their insalate caprese, basically a mozzarella and tomato salad is superb. i have never had a better ricotta and spinach ravioli. spaghettis and risottos are nice as well. they serve a different lunch and dinner menu with a few common items, but we enjoyed what we had ordered. 

since this restaurant caters to international clientele, the only small changes i would do is add some pan - asian cuisine to their menu as the other restaurant - esphahan serves authentic indian food while this serves a more international cuisine, so some asian dishes would be a great addition to the menu. apart from that the restaurant is perfect and we had enjoy dining here again. it is pricey, but thats luxury dining for you.

we stayed at thehotelfor 2 nights and had a minimum of 2 meals here , the non vegetarian food definitely had quality problems and wasnt fresh . my entire family and i are down with severe infection a day after our meal here . its definitely not a coincidence . the taste too was not oberoi standards .
