thefoodwas bland, the bread was heat and serve rolls. reminds of good nursing home food. won’t make you sick but also won’t make you come back again.

texas tea. this place has killer chicken fried steak and the most potent long island iced tea you'll ever order, served up in a large mason jar. it's worth the trip and expense if only for those two things. the bar has a great vibe but the restaurant itself lacks that vibe. it almost feels a little mobile. but thefoodand drinks make up for it.

have always loved this place and picked it for my birthday dinner tonight (11-10-2012). never had an issue until tonight. all the friedfoodwas over cooked and fries served cold. after waiting for so long to get thefoodmost of the kids ate their burnt chicken because we had apparently starved them per their opinion. one of my favorite places in abilene to eat and hope tonight was just a bad night for the kitchen.foodwas eventually comped but not without some discussion. hope the next trip is as good as all my previous.

bestfoodin town. they have the bestfoodin town. great service. the owners come by the tables to say hi and check on tables. great atmosphere. my favorite is the rack of lamb special the 2nd weekend of the month, but the beef oscar is a winner too!

love the beehive. been there several times and have never had a bad experience. thefoodis amazing and the service is even better.

ok...my wife and daughter went to the beehive last weekend. normally, i love everything about this place. i got the "signature" salad. it was mushy like someone had mixed the dressing with the lettuce and stuck it in the refrigerator pre mixed. it was after 8:30 pm so i might have to give them a break,

best steakhouse in abilene. excellent service and food. i've been here 3 times since moving to abilene from plano, tx. the steaks i had were excellent, every time. matter of fact, better than the last steaks i had at ruth's chris in dallas. the manager came personally to the table to check on our steaks. sorry, but great steak costs real money. this place is a gem and thefoodisn't over priced for what you get. heck, even the wine is a decent price. not to mention at least this place has air conditioning in the summer unlike the place in buffalo gap. go to one of the chop houses in dallas to get something to compare to as far as thefoodquality, but you will pay $40 for the meat alone, $8 for the salad, $10 for the potato. seriously.

delicious and perfectly seasoned steaks cooked right. their fried zucchini appetizer was awesome! also love that their drinks are served in mason jars. greatfoodand atmosphere! highly recommend!

the beehive in abilene and also the origional one in albany is amazing.!! never once had a problem. everyone has always been very inviting and hospitable. thefoodis excellent and so is the service. i would reccomend the bee hive to anyone!

disappointment. we had heard how great beehive was and finally decided to pay it a visit. what a mistake! i don't know if it was just a bad night or what but at those prices we will not return. i must say that our server was fantastic, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the service. thefoodwas a different story, from start to end, it was disappointing...sans the salad and soup. we ordered a combination tempura type veggie tray (mushrooms, zucchini, cauliflower, and onion rings). it should have never left the kitchen. it was burned, so soaking with oil that it gleaned. we didn't finish it. next came a $30 hunk of meat and bone that was supposed to be prime rib. it was such an unappetizing looking hunk of grayish looking mystery meat. it looked like it was among a bunch of other meat that was parboiled and left to sit in the water. my wife cut into it, took a bite, and it was cold. she is not one to sendfoodback but had to. she waited a few minutes and a larger piece of disgusting looking flesh was delivered, there was not much difference between it and the first.
i ordered the oscar beef (it had oscar in its name). it consisted of 3 beef medallions wrapped in bacon, covered with crab and some sort of creamy, yellowish sauce. i ordered it medium (should have been warm and pink), but could see blood oozing from the top of the meat. i cut into it and it was red, not pink. i will admit that it was flavorful and very, very tender. i chose to not send mine back and dug into it a bit more. it would have been a decent meal had it not been covered in crab and the yellow sauce. the crab was mushy and chalky if you can believe it. i've eaten seafood all over the country and overseas and have never had crab that had this texture or consistency. it was also very fishy. the sauce was bitter and sour, not good at all, and had a piece of hair or something in it.
don't plan on getting free soda refills either...ridiculous if you ask me, especially when you are paying prices like these. we were given a piece of free cheesecake and one free soda refill as an honest attempt by our server to offer some sort of compensation. really we should have called a manager over and refused the meals.
needless to say, we won't visit again. i am actually rather angry for paying almost $80 (tip included) for such a disappointing meal.
