living in abilene 04/22. i was taken to this restaurant from lunch. was greeted by a great staff, but my server with a funny didn't like his jib and i know this because he said so. the special was fish and hushpuppies. fish strips came out as wide as a child's finger and only three of them. when i complained the owner came over with a sorry excuse of why my fish was so small and when i compared my plate with people of other color it didn't compare. the owner asked if i wanted anything else so i got the steak never was asked how i wanted it cook just assume what i wanted. and we know what assume means. steak was given to me rare, to me takes nasty. owner never apologize. i will never go back to the beehive

instantly regret giving them a 2nd chance...

it was ok... not worth the money.. featured steak was nothing to brag about.. disappointed for the $40-$50 i spent for just myself..

if you haven't eaten at the beehive, then it's been a "missed" steak!

good food, good service, but somewhat inconsistent. definitely worth trying.

glutton for punishment. i have eaten here probably 10 times. lunch is best because of value. they offer a decent lunch menu and i guess my expectations aren't as big. i am disappointed every time i come here for dinner. we usually spend $100 for 2 meals and a couple of drinks and never feel like we received the quality expected. i prefer copper creek or lytle land.

really a great meal and service was outstanding. the potato skins are the best i've ever had, we even ordered some to take home, my son had the 14oz rib eye very delicious steak, was kind of disappointed with the chicken fried steak, my wife had salmon and it was wonderful. we will be back soon

simply the worst. undoubtedly the worst dining experience of my life.
i am a 57 year old business man and spend about 30% of my time on the road. i have eaten at thousands of restaurants and 95% i enjoy local restaurants. on may 15, 2015, we went to the beehive restaurant and saloon after seeing several favorable reviews.
i asked if i could substitute in veggies for the baked potato that came with my new york strip i ordered. the waiter no substitutions allowed but i could order them separately. the steaks were so peppery it was inedible. my ny strip was very tough. i cut it in several places looking for good bites and finally gave up. my wife had 3 bites of her filet mignon and gave up. we spent $80 for a few awful, peppery, tough bites. i asked to speak to the owner (something i've never done before). he came to the table angry and looked at the cut-up steak and said, "you ate it!" i explained it was cut as we looked for edible portions, but he was rude and kept yelling that "you ate it". i actually could not imagine a worst dining experience.

the food was bland, the bread was heat and serve rolls. reminds of good nursing home food. won’t make you sick but also won’t make you come back again.

the taste is so nice, after eating i was ordering the foods on daily basis. so guys you should not miss it.

tonight i had one of the worst experiences at the beehive restaurant that i have ever had at any restaurant anywhere in the world i have been.  when i cam in the restaurant was relatively empty and no one was at the bar.  i told the hostess we were going to have dinner at the bar.  we sat at the bar and were served immediately with drinks.  the bartender gave us menus and we decided on an appetizer to start of fried vegetables.  we finished our drinks and the restaurant became a bit busier.  the bartenders (3) continued to ignore us and only paid attention to the people coming in after us.  i wanted to order an appetizer and another drink.  for the next 50 minutes the bartender continued to walk past us like we were invisible. i waited for about another 15 minutes and finally i yelled to get her attention.  she acted like there was nothing wrong.  i asked her if it would be better if we just got a table since we were not able to get any service from her.  she said that it was so busy now that there were no tables and she would not serve us anything to eat at the bar.  i told her that the hostess was informed that we were eating at the bar and even she (the bartender) gave us menus.  now i have waited over an hour, unable to get another drink and refused further service of any type.  i guess that all of these people coming in after us were much more important than we were.  the service was beyond bad and your bartenders were beyond rude.  i will never return to the beehive restaurant and i will continue to post this on every social media i can find to warn people of the horrible restaurant you have.  this was the absolute worst experience i have ever had at any restaurant.  i can't believe this is the first time it has ever happened to anyone.  your bartenders and wait staff should be ashamed of themselves.

the atmosphere is upscale. the staff were absolutely great and treated me like i would have at any formal restaurant. as for the food, the bread was amazing. it had the perfect crunch to the crust and the perfect fluff to the inside. the tortilla soup was delicious and perfectly flavored. the chicken fried steak was also perfectly cooked and delicious. this restaurant truly blew me away and i can’t wait to be able to try it again but next time at dinner.

i have been back for dinner and had the cheeseburger soup and the big filet. the soup was absolutely delicious and the steak had great quality and was cooked perfectly. this has become one of my favorite restaurants!

great steaks! great service! great atmosphere!definitely worth a try. at first i thought the locals were just joking on how good this place is but after trying it i'm convinced. worth the money.

these guys serve the best prime rib (only available on friday and saturday evenings). the fresh horseradish gives the perfectly cooked meat an extra boost. good service and delicious desserts too.

wife and i shared the prime rib. very tasty and tender. fantastic! this place was a good value as well. fast and courteous wait staff. i will return next i am in abilene.
