a mediocre taste of indonesia.  at least the $6.50 serves of chicken are big, so you could build a cheap meal easily, but i wanted a big brunch (and the restaurant was already busy 15 minutes after opening) so i ordered fried chicken and grilled chicken. both had somewhat tough meat, the fried chicken had thin tasteless batter and the sauce on the grilled chicken was surprisingly bland. their sambal has quite a kick but not much flavour. even the tempe was tough and tasteless and the watermelon juice was very watery. i was hoping that this would take me back to my travels in indonesia and timor but it would surely be considered a low-end warung over there.

the chicken is definitely their best dish on the menu. i tried their rendang and bakso (meatball) however was disappointed, they didn’t taste as how it should.

the always busy restaurant in kingsford. had lunch here on sunday afternoon, queue for about 20 minutes. ordered the charcoal grilled chicken with kangkung. chicken 🐓 is always the same tasty. together with the chilli and sweet soy sauce, what a bomb. kangkung was okay nothing really outstanding. service was good, recommended for a cheap yet tasty lunch or dinner.

satay like no other. i can’t replicate this at all at home which is frustrating because i’m not close enough to have it cooked for me on the regular. always a wait here which is understandable as it’s cheap and incredibly tasty food. haven’t had a bad dish yet.

chicken thigh was much smaller than usual. it used to be ok but now the inconsistency is becoming more frequent. they should compensate with two small chicken thighs if the normal size cannot be provided fairly, as it has bothered us and made other restaurants more preferable.

after being let off from work early for the day, my indonesian coworkers and i were trying to decide what to do/eat. one of them piped up and suggested ayam goreng 99. always one to try a native’s suggestion, i jumped on the chance despite the trek. arriving there just half an hour after they opened, there was already a line waiting to get a table. after a half hour wait, we finally sat down at this otherwise unassuming hole-in-the-wall restaurant.

a friend of mine took me to this little restaurant in kingsford. the establishment offers authentic indonesian cuisine for a great value. food is great, although i strongly recommend to order "shared" dishes instead of single portions (shared portions are larger in size and have more flavor). expect to wait 10-20 minutes outside the restaurant for a seat. the staff in the restaurant only serves you the food and tap water, you have to fill in the order yourself.

i ordered fried chicken, pork belly, fried beef, coconut rice and a roll today.
first i don’t like the smell of the restaurant, and the attitude of the waitress is bad.
as for the food, for the fried chicken, i’d better chose the kfc or chicken wings from pizza hut
. the fried beef is tasty. but the roll is quite weird taste and makes me feel very bad.
i can’t see why this restaurant has a so high score.

wow, amazing quality authentic indonesian food in a simple home environment. the place has an array of style of dishes, which is far superior than the other south asian style restaurants namely mamak and pappa rich. a good hidden gem.

one of indonesian restaurant in kingsford area that serving decent indonesian food.
we ordered :
sate ayam ( chicken satay ) which was good, however not outstanding. meats are so tiny, and accompanied with peanut sauce and fried onion with kecap manis ( sweet soy ) drizzled on top.
flavour wise, it was good and tasty.
came with what they called, rice cake. ( like rice steamed inside banana leaves.)
cah kangkung was nice too, my only complain was a little to oily for the dish.
ayam bakar. ( grilled chicken )
i think this was the highlight from what we ordered.
chicken was marinate before hand, and during the cooking prices, what we think is basted with sweet sky mixture. you can see the chicken was nicely basted and caramelized on the skin.
flavour was deep penetrated to the meat, leaving good sweetness from marination combained with charred from the fire during grilling process.
definitely worth to visit if you are on the area.

in this restaurant at least once a week!

great foods, fair prices, big portions, and friendly staffs!

ps: you'll need to come to the restaurant earlier as some of their foods likely sold out 2-3 hours prior the closing hours.
