this is one of the places we like to eat when in satx.  ate here for lunch today and normally enjoy sitting outside overlooking the river.  it was a little hot today and there were no shady areas so we ate inside.  outside is way better and more charming...inside is too hipster for me.  since it was sunday brunch, my wife got the chilaquiles and i ordered the braised short rib tacos.  my wife liked hers and i was looking forward to mine, but i have to admit, the beef was really bland and flavorless.  it had pico and i put somesalsaon it, but bleh, nada, nothing.  i couldn't salt it into flavorland.  i asked my wife to taste just in case it was me.  she agreed; no flavor.  maybe they had an off day, but next time i'll stick with the shrimp tacos or the crab tinga tacos.  now for the best part, i had them substitute the regular mexican rice for roasted corn rice (i think that's what it's called).  it was on the menu with the chicken breast in chipotle cream sauce (which is what i was going to order before i went short rib).  the rice was buttered and the pieces of roasted corn...mmmmmm good.  maybe i was delirious from the lack of flavor with the beef.  but i sho liked me some o dat rice!

everything was excellent! we had a late lunch/early dinner, and we had an amazing time. courteous and quick staff, delicious food, and incredible drinks. the ceviche was top-notch, thesalsawas great, and the short rib, fish, crab, and fried oyster tacos were really, really good. we will definitely be back and highly recommend!

you can make reservations here which is nice and it has a cool atmosphere as far as the river restaurants go. thesalsais ok but thin and no heat. my empanadas were dry and were not flakey at all. the worst part was the service. oscar, our server, accidentally dumped my husbands cabrito in his lap. yes it was an accident and he apologized profusely. however, no manager came to our table, no offer to comp anything was made, and when we got our ticket there wasn't even a discount. when i brought this to he server's attention he acted surprised that we should get anything and said he would ask his manager. long story short the night ended with finally getting the cabrito taken off, the manager crying about the fact they were doing their best, and oscar complaining because we needed change.

we came in at 4:15 early for dinner. signature dragon fruit mojito was a nice surprise however the mint was past its prime with brown and yellow edges. oyster tacos were very good but the beans and rice were pedestrian. the skirt steak fajitas were served on an iron skillet that was so hot the food was burned and was sent back. the replacement was likewise but we got it off onto the serving plate quickly to avoid burning again. it made it awkward to assemble the fajitas with the plate over crowded. thesalsawas very good but the carafe was cracked and not food safe. the server, chris, was good and on top of things. i was surprised no manager stopped by since a dish was sent back. over all mediocre.

absolutely wonderful!. i was a bit nervous going here due to mixed reviews, but i am so glad i did! get a seat by the riverwalk and relax with great food. their chips are thick and crunchy, and thesalsawas great. i got the fish tacos and they were the best i've ever had! the seasoning on them was just fantastic, the rice was fresh, and i even ate the black beans, which were also seasoned well. the whole meal was just wonderful

expensive!. pricey. the decor does not make up for the food. $7 kid meals that do not come with a drink. the child's chicken fajitas were way spicy. chips were thick and not at all tasty and the brownsalsaleft much to be desired.

two words: aw full! ambiance was cheap and dirty - garish colors. service was great. food was some of the worst i have ever had. i had the fish tacos. they were strips of battered fish that were exactly what long john silvers serves, with th added feature of sogginess. the chopped cabbage they were served in the taco with was bland. thesalsaand chips weren't good.salsawas almost good as the roasted flavor was delicious but full flavor was missing. the chips were awkwardly served in a standing up cone thing. i don't like reaching in and not being able to see what i am getting. my husband had marinated fajita meat that you make your own tacos with. because the meat was sliced before they marinated it, it was way too salty. never would i return to this place.

from the start, "no bueno" & its very expensive. thesalsawas brown & not very good, ordered fajitas, both chicken & beef, the meat was very good but skimpy on the onions & peppers. had to pay extra for sour cream & they never brought us shredded cheese. had to wait for 5 minutes after our fajitas were brought out to get the tortillas. went on a sat night & service was not good, had to keep asking for water refills & chips. the baked cheese appetizer was greasy & lumpy. will not go back
