everything was excellent! we had a late lunch/early dinner, and we had an amazing time. courteous and quick staff, delicious food, and incredible drinks. the ceviche was top-notch, the salsa was great, and the short rib, fish, crab, and fried oyster tacos were really, really good. we will definitely bebackand highly recommend!

crepas de pato (crepes filled w/duck confit) were delicious. the best, however was the guacamole made at table side - terrific! margaritas were good but a little pricey. will definitely go again if i’m everbackin sa, tx

modern decor with a bright urban theme. it is not your typical run of the mill telmex restaurant but has a sophisticated flare. both the cabrito and snapper were cooked to perfection the chef took care in insuring that the flavor combinations complimented the palette and left you wanting more. this is not a place for someone who is looking for casual texmex but an exquisite dining experience. i would definitely recommend this place and have every intention of comingbackon my next trip to taste some of the other menu items.

let's start by saying the food was fantastic. that's the last good thing i can say. sat at the bar and had to ask for menu, then my drinks, then when food did arrive my meal was missing items and the bartender acted like no big deal its coming.

the ball game was on and very loud but nice. i am sure others felt same as guy next to me said it was the same for me.

service makes the meal great or average. stop talking to your friends and take care of us. i will not bebackas too many good service in area. travel here on business monthly.

i arrived in san antonio on a whim and asked my concierge for the best mexican food spot on the river walk. the concierge highly recommended this place and was able to land me a reservation. even though they were jammed packed because of a banquet, they were able to sit us at one of the most romantic tables on their patio overlooking the river walk. the hostesses were extremely friendly and even gave us a few recommendations while walking us to our table. our server was outstanding ( ramon). we had a skillet for two and it was definitely  worth what we paid. i felt very lucky that the staff was able to accommodate us on such a short notice and my only advice is to make good with the concierge where you are staying or book in advance! i will be comingbackand referring this place to all of my family and friends.

good food, terrible service. we went there about a week ago. i loved the fajitas and my wife also enjoyed the stuffed tortillas. excellent menu. fairly priced. but our server sucked. he wasn't attentive at all. most of the time he was talking to one of the managers while our drinks were in bad need of refilling. i couldn't believe nobody noticed us. we were right there by the entrance! it was so bad that my wife asked for another server. the new guy was very nice, and he took very good care of us, but we were already a little upset. would gobackthere for the food, but i would want to make sure i have a better waiter.

while this may have been a great spot to fine dine tex mex in the past, it has dissapointed me today. my shrimp mojo with heads came basically butterflied. the fresh guacamole wasn't. the fresh homemade tortillas came in a tortilla container that stank to high heaven, like a dirty towel that sat around for a week. had to take it off the table, though it was broughtbackto us. in all fairness my shrimp was tasty and fresh, and some others food was good.

poor service. we have eaten at acenar three times now since we moved here and always heard the service was poor. the first two times, the service was ok, but we put up with it because the margaritas and food are excellent. the third time, the service was so bad we considered leaving before ordering dinner. it continued that way all evening. just another busy joint cutting costs by running a skim staff. probably won't gobackfor a while even though we like the food and ambiance. but hey, they won't miss us!

wild. modern texas/mexican cuisine. i enjoyed the different combination of spices on crab tinga tacos. i will have to gobackto try some of the interesting selections on the menu. not your typical mexican restaurant.... in the best way possible.
