management 101. over the past 3 years me and my girlfriend have enjoyed the friendly service and great location of this place. both of us have worked in the industry and truly believe that 1410 has some of the best tasting food and a tremendous amount of beer offerings. today we enjoyed lunch by the windows right in front of the bar. the food was great, the service was as expected but today i saw something that i found very unprofessional. a manager i believed to be named "cory" at approximately 1 o'clock sits down at the bar to enjoy a fresh meal in front of the customer he just helped serve. to me this in not the appropriate place or time to be chomping down your lunch. this isn't what really bothered me, what did was when the kitchen finished a bill instead of him getting up to help or simply continue enjoying his lunch break; he abruptly called for servers to run food and then continued eating. i mean that's really leading by example and setting the expectation for the staff... the spark is really fading here and i don't know if we will be back.

reno sadness. since the renovation and re-open this past winter, the food and service has greatly declined. this used to be a favorite brunch and pub spot, now, i wouldn't waste my time.

the service and the food were good as usual. we had a table for 4 and only 3 people inside, 1 of our friends was outside, we asked if he could get in. on their twitter account they told us to tell the bouncer that we needed to talk to a manager to let my friend in. instead he said the place was packed (it wasn't ) and he didn't let me in even if i was inside before (my boyfriend had to get my bag for me which was inside), when i tried to take a photo in public, he grabbed my phone and thread me, he tried to take my phone and he even said he would destroy it if i didn't delete the photo.

don't come here for oysters. in my experience, they run out very quick. also, you may have to wait a very long time or wave your arms in the air obnoxiously to get any attention from a waiter, as i had to.

1410 world bier haus, not only is the ownership and staff amazing, so is the atmosphere. this is one of the spots where you can walk into in calgary knowing no one and you will feel like you have a million friends!! the atmosphere and hospitality is top notch but isn’t the only thing to brag about; they have delicious nachos and other great menu items. beer drinker? you are in luck they have a world wide variety of imports, sure to satisfy even the non beer drinkers palate! stay tuned for the opening of their 2012 roof top patio.

went here for my girlfriends birthday party, and it was alot of fun. big selection of beers, i had the 1410 hamburger...very good highly recomend.

the original 17th ave beer pub. i've been going to 1410 since they took over the homestead years ago (rip homestead... passed out drunks, vlt's, and after hours alcohol). they have some of the best service (including the managers) i have had anywhere. however, after numerous visits i still find shaking the waitresses hand awkward and forced. like other similar pubs, the menu has it's ups and downs. the bartender wings are amazing. fried, then sauced, then grilled. three steps, not just two lazy arsed steps. the local farm to fork ingredients and steaks are also a hi-light.

awesome dj. this is our favorite spot to go for drinks and a night out. awesome music and selection of drinks. its always busy and the servers generally do a good job with the craziness! the only bad thing i have to say is that when there is a lineup outside anyone who knows "someone" gets in before you no matter how long you were in the lineup. i stood in the lineup one night for quite some time repeatedly being told they were at capacity only to watch ten people go through before me as vip.

1410 bier haus = bier gut. you want beer you come here! try and count'em all from japan to belgium to of course, germany and so much more better yet try and taste them all!

the staff, although busy are always ready to inform, ask a question you might learn something. as for the food i found it to actually be really good. after reading reviews saying otherwise i found the range of food to be impressive. from the gourmet burger bar serving up the beef and bison pattied 1410 burger or the succulent montreal blue burger perfectly grilled beef patty finished with mushrooms and blue cheese - completely decedent, and for only $11.00 bucks on fridays you can't go wrong!

interested in something from the sea, they carry awesome "frshly shucked oysters" $15/dozen on thursdays. or try the moules served with 4 different sauces and only $6 for one pound or $10 for 2 pounds on saturdays. they are flown in from new brunswick and they're perfectly washed down with $6 hoegaarden your beginning your weekend right.

they have live dj's and awesome ladies night, you really can have a good time, eat some good food and take a trip around the world in beer tastings. so get on down to 1410 bier haus located on 17ave of course!

love 1410!. i've been a few times but this is my first review. 1410 is consistently very good. last time i went, our server was very friendly and attentive, and the food was fantastic. oh, and they have a wicked rooftop patio!

great for breakfast lunch and dinner. i usually go here for breakfast for 3 reasons caesars, always a table and stuffed french toast. the food is fantastic for the price. the only thing i do not like about this place is the need for the service staff to shake my hand. i mean really unless your joining me for breakfast i don't really need to know you. it makes my experience awkward every-time. keep the hand shake but don't change anything else. love to roof top patio as well. thanks i continually visit.
