management 101. over the past 3 years me and my girlfriend have enjoyed the friendly service and great location of this place. both of us have worked in the industry and truly believe that 1410 has some of the best tasting food and a tremendous amount of beer offerings. today we enjoyed lunch by the windows right in front of the bar. the food was great, the service was as expected but today i saw something that i found very unprofessional. a manager i believed to be named "cory" at approximately 1 o'clock sits down at the bar to enjoy a fresh meal in front of the customer he just helped serve. to me this in not the appropriateplaceor time to be chomping down your lunch. this isn't what really bothered me, what did was when the kitchen finished a bill instead of him getting up to help or simply continue enjoying his lunch break; he abruptly called for servers to run food and then continued eating. i mean that's really leading by example and setting the expectation for the staff... the spark is really fading here and i don't know if we will be back.

the service and the food were good as usual. we had a table for 4 and only 3 people inside, 1 of our friends was outside, we asked if he could get in. on their twitter account they told us to tell the bouncer that we needed to talk to a manager to let my friend in. instead he said theplacewas packed (it wasn't ) and he didn't let me in even if i was inside before (my boyfriend had to get my bag for me which was inside), when i tried to take a photo in public, he grabbed my phone and thread me, he tried to take my phone and he even said he would destroy it if i didn't delete the photo.

great for breakfast lunch and dinner. i usually go here for breakfast for 3 reasons caesars, always a table and stuffed french toast. the food is fantastic for the price. the only thing i do not like about thisplaceis the need for the service staff to shake my hand. i mean really unless your joining me for breakfast i don't really need to know you. it makes my experience awkward every-time. keep the hand shake but don't change anything else. love to roof top patio as well. thanks i continually visit.

i enjoy the room, have been going there for a long time since it was a much smaller space with no roof top patio. the service is good, the food is consistent.

i had a store down the street and used to get the staff brunch to share on saturdays. it is one of my go to patio places on my patio tours in the summer. the food is good, love the burgers wine night is a good night to go, it is a busyplacemost of the time.

horrible place. same bad experience as banks listed below.placewas 3/4 empty for brunch on a weekend a couple weeks ago. after waiting for a few mins at the front no one seated us, so we seated ourselves, with someone who i think was management in an untucked dress shirt just staring at us. took 10 mins to get someone to even serve us and staff who kept constantly walking back and forth. not sure what they were doing as there was no food being brought or drinks. we were there for over 2 hours and never got a water refill, both were finished within minutes of us getting water, no coffee refill, our empty plates stayed there. we only saw our server 2x. once when she took our order then 2 hours later when we finally caught her eye to flag her down to get our bill. 

this is the same brutal service we've experienced a few times now. we will not be going back, the management obviously doesn't/can't train their staff or care about their reputation or service. many other better services places to go and spend our money.

recently i celebrated my birthday with a weekend food extravaganza. saturday lunch i took my wife on a food tour i set for us along 17th ave. i looked up a few places to try and 1410 bier haus was one of them. i love the big windows opening out onto the street as it opens theplaceup and lets loads of light in.   the point of all the stops i chose for the mini tour was to try places we might want to go back to eat at a later date.  with this in mind we ordered a couple of craft beers and an appetizer. service was great and with a smile, our drinks and calamari came out quite fast. now i love my calamari and it quite often gets overcooked. this one was perfect, so tender. loved it.the beers were great, they have a huge selection if you're a beer lover.  excellent experience would like to go back and try more. thanks 1410 bier haus.

great!. will be back. anyplacethat sells unibroue la fin du monde, is a goodplacefor me and their greek ribs very good, especially with that sauce on the side, forgot the name but i loved it! i devoured those ribs.

thisplacehas thee worst management. there dress code doesn't matter if your vip or own theplacethey are ridiculously strict drivibg anyone with money away. anytime ive had a bad experience there the manager has only made it worse. will never return.

if you like douches, this is theplacefor you! i thought this would be a cool beer house but was hugely mistaken. went on a thursday night and it was packed with bros & hoes shouting at each other over the ridiculously loud music.

favorite spot!. thisplaceis always a good time in evening for drinks, and i've had dinner here several times that was always delicious. the pizza is great (better than una if you ask me) and the service is always top notch. it's also the best brunch spot for weekends..funny how much the atmosphere can change. their eggs benny is amazing. servers are always fun and pleasant. hope thisplacesticks around because it's hard to find somewhere that is so well rounded in this city

literally my favorite downtown pub. if i am convinced by friends to make my way downtown in the evenings - 1410 is always the firstplacei try to talk them into. i spent many days here watching the eurocup past summer, and i've spent many evenings here with good friends and have never had a bad time. i like the location, because it not as difficult to find parking as other spots on 17th or stephen's ave. i like the staff, management is always amazing when we walk through the doors. i have to say, cory is always able to pull through with a table when i give him a little advance notice that we are on our way. he is probably one of the main reasons i keep returning. another nice thing about 1410 is that the clientele seem a lot more respectable than many other pubs, lounges or "trendy bars" that offer pretty similar settings/venues. 1410 has been my go-to spot for many years now, and it's no question that i will continue to frequenting 1410 for many years to come.

i used to love thisplaceand went regularly with big groups of friends. the service was the best in town and the food far better than your average pub food.
lately the service has fallen off (most of the best of the staff left) and the whole mentality of ownership seems to have changed. they mess up reservations, they've removed popular bottled beers and replaced them with cheaper (and terrible) options, and they seem to want a nightclub vibe.
the food is still good if you can handle a long wait in line on weekends and mediocre service.

great food, atmospere, attentive staff!. from out of town, heard 1410 was a greatplaceto eat and have a drink. went yesterday, had great appetizers, main course and drinks! manager was social and attentive to guests. very good experience! look forward to revisiting. oh and our server was awesome too! the green curry muscles were fantastic and so was the lobster mac and cheese! thanks 1410!

just bad. i've been to thisplacea few times and each time i'm disappointed. the food isn't actually that bad, just typical pub food-nothing impressive, but the service is another story. every time i go the servers are snotty and take forever to bring your drink, food, and bill. the mediocre over priced calgarian pub fare is not worth the attitude that comes with it.

old fave. have liked thisplacefor several years, even though they bungled our last st. paddy's day reservation at a specific table (the fact that i made the reservation with the owner didn't seem to matter). servers could be better trained on product knowledge. good food and great beer selection on tap.
