yellow bird cafe x kitchen

cozy and comfy place to dine in with your family and friends. they have affordable and within the budget breakfast meals which includes garlic rice, your choice of dish (ie. bacon, corned beef etc.) and two eggs cooked depending on your preference (ie. scrambled or sunny side up). they also have snacks and drinks. personal favorite: banana loaf and carrot loaf.

we got to know about the yellow bird cafe from rappler and decided we should try it today, mother's day.

i agree with the other reviewers, the decor and ambiance in the restaurant is nice.  the service was courteous but too slow, we also observed that the staff are not very methodical in doing their tasks.  

we ordered:
salmon salad (taste wise- ordinary, the portion was too small, the bowl they use for the salad is too big for the quantity. actually we found the portion of all the food we ordered too small for the price).
crispy okoy was alright, at least it was really crispy, its taste- nothing memorable, price- reasonable.
beef and pork mechado (the pieces of beef is not tender enough, but the roast beef was alright).  we found both entrees too salty.   
brownies with ice cream was alright, moist and not too sweet but i wish the ice cream scoop is a bit bigger and not just as big as a golf ball.
drinks, we all had coke.

our bill was almost p1,500 for 3 people and we all did not feel like we had enough to eat.

i really love this place, it's newly opened so not many have been here and they haven't finalized their menu yet but everything is affordable for a place like this. their interiors are beautiful and it's pretty bright inside because of the large windows. the staff are friendly and we made friends with the owner as well.

for the food, we ordered chicken pesto pasta and seafood arabbiata, which were both very delicious in my opinion! the serving size is proportion to the price of the meal. we brought our own jenga to play with while we were here. would definitely like to come back and chill here again 👍🏻

nice breakfast and excellent coffee! must try and indeed an instagrammable place 😍🇵🇭😁. we came post 10am and the staff was ultra friendly to still accommodate our bfast order.

don't arrive hangry.. food comes out slow.. waiting for food takes almost an hr..food was so so.they're not prepared. could do better w the vegies. had salmon pasta it was ok. id give it a 2 but the ribs were at least soft and cheesecake was good.

place: it's pretty and insta-worthy.

food: we have tried the double wagyu cheeseburger and yb nachos, it's delicious!

service: it's so bad for a first timer like us. waiting time for the order is not that bad, but the downside is that they're not ensuring that all the orders are complete, we have to follow up our drinks twice (it's only coke and coffee), have to even go to the counter to request for things we need tho i have been raising my hand to get their attention.

bad dining experience. we went there to celebrate our son's birthday as the place looks inviting and elegant. to our dismay they did not let us dine inside the yellow bird cafe even if it is unoccupied..there is actually no one inside!.. instead they gave us a table outside of their adjacent japanese restaurant which has a karinderia feels. take note that their prices are not cheap. this really ruined our expected decent celebration. what is the use of your well decorated restaurant if you dont want to let your guests dine inside??? moreover, they served us uncooked rice. and they are serving steak without a knife! you still have to ask one. as if the steak is that tender for you not to use a knife anymore.. but no... another failed expectation. their staff is very rigid and unwelcoming! we will never dine to this restaurant again!

we ordered grade 6 wagyu flat iron steak, the serving is not worth the price. seared salmon is ok.

there are other restos in the area that can give us a bigger serving and quality food.

bad service. we live nearby and was just looking for a place to eat but ended up just going home because the staff are just unprofessional.

our car was asked to move even though the car behind had enough space to manoeuvre in the parallel parking space. then, we went to their japanese resto only to be asked to go back to yellow bird to present our qr and vaccine cards. upon going back, the qr app took time to load so the staff left and asked for their another scanner. they didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience nor asked us to “please wait”. we were left standing there (no waiting area, just in front of the cashier) without any clue on what’s happening while the staff went ahead and made chika in front of us! then the other staff was called to go to the japanese place just to get the qr scanner.

complete waste of time for mediocre food. not worth it. whether you live near or far, i’m pretty there are better places out there to get some food other than yellow bird.

upon entering, the staff were a bit busy and we had to ask if we can have a table (for two). they immediately asked for the qr code and pass then prepared our table
menu had several varieties and prices were affordable. took a little while before our food came.
ambience is relaxed though we werent able to roam around
pretty decent place na rin in antipolo 💛

place: the interior is really pleasant. clean and chic design; however, the lack of waiting area is somewhat annoying since their "waiting area" is just a bench that fits 3 max. so when there's more than one group waiting, others would be left wandering around the street.

service: mains aren't served all at the same time. but the waiting time is not that long (since there's not much people around.)

food: their beverages are good (especially the fruit tea selection since they're very refreshing)

-salmon (signatures) a bit dry. i've tasted better salmon dishes especially considering its price point.
-grade 6 wagyu (signatures) we ordered 2 of it with the same doneness (medium rare). inconsistent quality. the first one is what you would expect, juicy and melts in your mouth. the other one is really dry that it almost looks like a glorified tapa.

*one thing to note: their menu has so many unavailable dishes when we went there. (maybe because of the pandemic) but expect that not everything will be available upon your visit.

the waitress had no manners at all, very poor service. the food was okay but was not something that i would go back for again especially with that kind of service and the drive i had to endure to get there.

if you live nearby, maybe you could give it a shot. otherwise, i don’t think it’s worth your time and money to go all the way there. there are better food and ambience in restaurants near the metro.

their service deteriorated. everything is inconsistent from their food to their staff to their reservation process. nothing good to say about this restaurant anymore sadly :( siguro one thing na maganda lang dito is their lights outside but other than that wala na talaga. sayang antipolo is such a nice place to come visit pero walang restaurant na masarap na you’ll keep coming back for more.

the place is hip and posh. food is okay. menu is kinda confusing on what exactly they’re aiming for. so okay. you do you. coffee is great, they have a la mar so i think it helps with the brew.

what i really dislike about the place is medyo aligaga staff. like they keep people waiting outside for several mins. before even acknowledging their presence and doing their health check. not sure if that’s a thing they’re trying to make pauso.

i didn't expect much but they have a wide variety of menu from filipino to japanese cuisine. price is quite affordable too.
