food is ala carte, fine-dining quality with an easy, friendly ambience.  you can tell the chef is a trained and skilled one - even their lumpia is masterfully fried.  very affordable for similar or lesser quality found in 5-star hotels.  limited menu is good as focus is on perfecting the dishes, signature drinks & desserts.  english-speaking staff impresses with friendly and courteous service.  ample parking, modern interiors.  near home.  highly recommended for a quick delicious bite or date night. must try:  pumpkin soup, salmon salad, pastas, cakes, ice teas.

definitely one of my fav restaurants in antipolo because they have great food, and i love the homey ambiance! i love their seafood pasta, lumpiang ubod, roasted nachos, coolers, and their different cheesecakes. however, they have poor service!! since i love how the place is "tago" amongst other restaurants in antipolo, i make sure that i visit that place at least every month. been there for like 5 times already but i always experience disappointment with their service. it's like they don't have a system when it comes to dealing and serving their customers. some of their servers are also a bit cranky, unapproachable, and unaccommodating.

tucked away in the busy streets of antipolo is this cozy and relaxing cafe, yellow bird cafe x kitchen. it is located at the entrance of mission hills subdivision. though i am living at l.a. (lower antipolo :p), it was my first time stepping on this part of antipolo. it is really exciting to discover new cafe's not beyond your usual destination.

we celebrated our friends' birthdays in this homey place. some of my friends ordered their steaks and some, including me, ordered their pasta dishes. i like their bacon and mushroom pasta since it is not too creamy and the toppings are generous. i wish though to have a thicker slice of toasted bread. my friends who ordered the steaks, t-bone and lamb chop, found the dishes hard to slice but nonetheless, savory. their cakes are really really good especially the mango and chocolate dome! i like how they serve them on plates that correlate the colors of each cake. its just sad that they don't have the matcha cake when we visited. we also wish that their selection of ice cream were available for us to try.

the place, oh the place, it is quiet, i think w're the only ones loud in the place. i like the way it was tucked away from the busy streets of antipolo, the quiet and chill ambiance resonates all over. the shades of green, brown and yellow worked well in the cool ambiance of the restaurant. their servers were also approachable from the reservation up to the moment we left the hub. i hope to go back again sometime, probably at night to dine in this nice place again.

taste: the dishes were forgettable. it wasn't horrible but it also isn't something that you would remember a week later. not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing but for me it was so-so. too so-so.

price: affordable though because the food is not something to remember, you might feel a pinch in your wallet a little bit.

ambiance: it felt forced. it felt like they decided to put everything instagrammable they could think of in one place save for the chalk wall art. i wish they had played on the yellow bird concept since that is their name.

yellow bird cafe x kitchen offers a relaxing casual ambience with its no frills menu.

things to try are.....
crunchy okoy - nice and crispy battered small shrimps with a vinegar dipping sauce

lumpiang shanghai (20 pcs) that's good for 3 to 4 people to snack on or paired with rice.

roast beef with mushroom sauce

gising-gising, green beans with pork and coconut cream.

chicken pesto pasta, grilled chicken breast with linguine pasta in pesto sauce.

if you want some cake, the best pick is the mango cheesecake. or maybe get the iced latte.

what enticed us to try this cafe is with its interiors. most of us loves the place, for me it is one of those who really pulled off this kind of interior that still evokes style and not overly done.

we tried three of their cakes and sadly neither one lives up to our expectations. choco lava is just normal, tastes like the ones you can just buy anywhere. mango cheesecake is underwhelming, i personally missing the taste of the cheese. red velvet is dry and lacking in frosting.

the place is lovely but i wish their food levels up to it.

we tried the place after our sunday mass since it was a few meters away from the church. the place had a warm and cozy vibe. we ordered the bacon and mushroom pasta, burger, and the chicken inasal. the bacon and mushroom pasta was a big let down. pasta was not al dente and the sauce didn't have much taste. the bacon didn't even taste like bacon. no taste at all, it was like eating pasta with cream. no hint of saltiness or whatsoever. definitely not worth the price. the chicken inasal was so-so. doesn't really have that oomph factor. taste wasn't that bad but the chicken was grilled longer than it should have. there were a lot of charred, inedible meat left on our plate after. the burger had the most decent taste. the patty was juicy and the buns even had a crisp to it which added to the overall texture in your mouth. i found it very nice. overall, the ambience gets a two thumbs up but the food is something they definitely need to work on.

located away from the busy streets of downtown antipolo, this place exhibits a certain vibe that can put a smile accross your face.
we had some club sandwich which tasted good, maybe because a different kind of cheese was used. the seafood arabbiata was outstanding but the pistachio butter cream cake was a bit dry. good thing we ordered the matcha cheesecake because it was definitely superb. i also like the iced salted caramel coffee since the coffee that was used was freshly prepared.  wife also ordered some smoke salmon and green salad which was also quite good. overall, this is a place we will surely visit again very soon. ambiance is great, food is delicious and the service is commendable.

food quality has deteriorated.
a frequent diner who used to enjoyed their okoy, spicy chicken wings, matcha cheesecake, spring rolls, roast beef etc.
ps. late review from oct 30 dining experience

went on a sunday morning around 10:30am and we ordered:
> spicy chicken wings - not their usual chicken wings -- very spicy almost not eatable
> spring roll - filling was "maanggo" - used to be our favorite
> lamb - first, waitstaff said its frozen and will be ready by 11am. so we waited till 11am but then other waitstaff said its no longer available.
> lemon chicken - to replace the lamb, dry! i mean very dry!!
> steak - specifically asked it to be cooked medium well but served as medium rare (showed to the cook and waitstaff- i asked what kind of doneness was served and the waitstaff answered medium rare)

asked for the chef to express my disappointment but it was a cook came out of the kitchen. apparently, the chef only cooks during the evening.

> matcha cheesecake - dry! seems to be an old batch from few days back :(

thank god for their ukoy and beef tapa -- at least 2 out of 6 family member enjoyed their food.

sunday lunch with my parents. we ordered t bone steak. seasoning was good but the meat itself wasn't that good. it was chewy. the chicken pesto was okay. not the best but it wasn't bad as well. we ordered french fries for starters but got served last. lastly, we wanted to try their affogato. they took the order but after several minutes they claimed that their ice cream has melted already.

they also didn't have potato wedges for starters when we went their.

the interior is good. ambiance is on point. hope they serve good food next time!

i went here a couple of times already, the ambiance is nice it's really cozy and the interiors are great.
food:
bacon and eggs with garlic rice- 2 sunny side up eggs and the bacon was chewy, not crunchy
lumpiang shanghai - i think they used wanton wrappers and the serving was good for 3 persons
seafood pasta - one of my fave, the serving of clams, shrimp and fish fillet was generous
shrimp pasta- oil based and 4 medium sized shrimps, it was yummy too
bacon and mushroom pasta - my least favorite, it was hard to finish because i didn't like the taste
pork belly- it was like bellychon but the skin is not crunchy, the serving is good for 2
salmon - it has a lemon butter dip that you can drizzle on top of the salmon. the side veggies were french string beans where i only see at s&r
clubhouse sandwich - typical clubhouse sandwich
okoy- one of my fave
matcha cheesecake - dry, not sweet enough for my taste i only had 3 teaspoons of it
service:
the male waiter tries to speak in english which was s bit of surprise to us, hehe... i suggest the kitchen must tell the staff which food in their menu is not available beforehand so the waiter won't keep on going to the kitchen if what we want to order is available. it happened a couple of times the waiter would come back and say "ay hindi po daw available ang roast beef" , "ah tatanong ko lang po sa kitchen" etc.

food trip with boyfie

ordered seafood arrabbiata, which taste differently from other pastaa i've tried (good thing i listened to the kuya who took our orders and suggested it) tuna pasta and choco lava for my boyfie which he indulge greatly. and the good tasting peach tea, (it has a combination of something, i forgot).

place is good, spacious, clean, simple yet mesmerizing. i saw a small yellowbird on the wall :) (of course, since it's called yellow bird cafe)

will definitely come back and just chill out on their outside tables. it's good a resto like this opened nearby.

thumbs up :)
