socially responsible splurge. you should go. the food is all but perfect (the oysters are always perfect - eat them raw and you'll
understand).
theserviceis usually pretty good. the house-made breads are delicious and fun - usually there's 3 varieties, so everyone can enjoy something. everything is made in the restaurant - i mean the ketchup is house made. they buy whole livestock, not parts. the butchering is done in house. drinks are excellent - get the government mule. ginger lime syrup and (house made) ginger beer and organic vodka and lime zest... so refreshing. sweet, sour, and a little bit of kick from the ginger.
flatbreads are always good, and the menu changes regularly. try whatever they have on special when you go - i almost always order off the special menu and am never disappointed.
as far as i can tell, every effort is made to purchase local and organic products - and this is reflected in the prices. expect to spend over $40/head at dinner. when i go with my boyfriend we usually end up spending around $100 for drinks, apps, entrees, tax and tip. more if you want some dessert, which isn't a bad idea.
