i’m very happy that blue pit bbq, a short walk away, wasn’t open as advertised. in search of somethinggoodto eat, i opted for woodberry kitchen, and happy i am. friendly and fast service teams up with fantastic local food. i had the country ham and eggs served over toast with potatoes and a cheese sauce. delicious. thick sliced ham with eggs over easy. the potatoes were crispy on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside. eat here.

described in one word: perfect. this may be the best place i've ever eaten. it's not just the food, which is beyond amazing, but the atomosphere, the waitstaff, and the drinks.
the food is outstanding. truly, it is sogoodmy friends still talk about a dinner from last year. they serve the best popcorn i've ever had in my entire life, and i am a popcorn fanatic!!! yeah, popcorn as an appetizer...get it!!! the eggs with chopped ham are good, too.
every entree is amazing, but i have to say, of all things on their menu the best may just be....the hamburger!!! i have never tasted anything thisgoodthat was called a "burger". it's more like ground veal (yes, i know, boo veal...but it's tasty) on a roll that i would eat all by itself. after tasting some of the finest things they offer, everyone i went with was still raving about that burger!!!
the desserts are unique and creative and delicious. i had a chunk, yes a chunk, or dark chocolate on a crust of potato chips, with stout ice cream on top. it was rich creamy and the flavors mixed together better than even peanut butter and chocolate!
one last mention: the drinks!!! if you miss out on a cocktail here you will regret it! they are hands down the best thing i have ever had to drink. they use fresh, local ingredients, and they stand there and make everything by hand...not mixes, no prepared juices or herbs or anything...it's done when you order it. they are worth the price. choose a whiskey smash or a goverment mule and you will wonder why you hadn't been drinking this all your life.
the waitstaff is outstanding. they know their stuff and are eager to help. some of them are a little "too cool" in attitude, but hey, hipsters are everywhere. that would be my only complaint, that, because this place is so good, it attracts both the snooty uptown snob crowd and the rabid hipster crowd. but, i don't have to eat with them, so honestly, who cares. go here!!!

a lovely, if overpriced, experience. the food at woodberry kitchen is very, very good, but not out-of-this-world good-goodlike you'd come to expect from any fine restaurant. the thing you're paying for at wk isn't uniquely amazing quality- it's the lovely atmosphere, a creative menu, and ingredients that are always fresh and often locally sourced, so it's really hard to go wrong.

a great looking place w/ a unique menu of super fresh delights. the breakfast flatbread with ham, eggs and potatoes, or pork belly, are just a few of the standouts. the menu offers a range ofgoodchoices.

honestly was a little disappointed i think this place gets a lot of hype. the food wasgoodof course-everything organic or local but not outstanding- some things were a little weird. (cold veggie soup? not my style) the place is loud and packed so don't expect privacy because the tables are legit not even 24" away from each other. hubs and i luckily got a seat upstairs in ten corner so we could overlook. made a res and had to wait for our table-? but we got a drink at the bar-luckily because it was a longer wait then i'd hoped. not sure if i'd go back. food is pricey as well.

baltimore does have great food.. thought we made a wrong turn. turns out we were wrong and made a right turn. when you find the place, you'll remember it always. woodberry kitchen, around since 2008, finally made it to me by word of mouth, like allgoodsecrets andgoodthings. even had to ask the valets huddled around a woodfire on the street in front of the building: "through them doors". stayed 2 1/2 hours of no pressure dining. beth and i ordered the "snake charmer" and whiskey smash" while reading through the menu. ordered and ate the "mozzerella" and "pork belly" appetizers while still reading through the menu. ordered another "snake" and "whiskey" while we took in the renovated ambiance of the old brick building, wood trimmings, and metal rods that kept the ancient structure from caving in. we sat in front of the "open" kitchen with its brick oven and watched the 10 young chefs create their unique offerings. ordered a 1/2 bottle of cab sov. my 14 oz ribeye came with its own crafted sauce. the au gratin potatoes were the finest i've ever eaten. beth was presented with a braised beef dish accompanied with whole wheat spaetzle. of coarse we tasted the others food and couldn't decide which was better. no wrong choices here. after careful decision making, we ordered "apple pie" and "mud pie" and two french press coffees. when delivered, we were given a sand timer: "when the sand falls through, you can press the coffee. you'll like that." our waitress, hanna, treated us with careful hands. having worked there for a year and a half, she was very in tune with the food, drinks, wine, and how to handle patrons. she informed us about the regionally grown herbs, vegetables, and locally supplied meats and seafood. cloth table tops, and "individual use" cloth hand towels in the bathrooms were standards. they are not going green, they are green. out of pocket: $272.94 (including the 20% and valet). are we going back? of course, for the food, not so often because of the price. request the main room in front of the kitchen. you'll have to make a reservation.

best restaurant hands down!. if you appreciate farm fresh food and local ingredient then you must agree that woodbury kitchen is the best restaurant in town. they use the freshest ingredients and the quality in preparation and presentation is to say the least, top notch.

as a frequent at the restaurant, i consider my utmost favorite as the turkey pot pie. it is so flavorful and delicate that it's hard not to fall in love with every single bite.

the menu changes according to what's available in the local markets. therefore, the variety of foods to try is in excess.

lastly, if you are looking to have agoodtime, make sure to order the very famous, governor's mule. it is so enjoyable that you just won't be able to help yourself but feel giddy after a cup, or two :)

overrated. my family and i drove 45 minutes to woodberry kitchen because of the fantastic reviews. however, i don't think it lived up to the hype. we went at 12:30 on saturday, and i was disappointed that only brunch was on the menu. we chose this restaurant because it is touted as kid friendly, and we did enjoy the crayons and cool dough tins for the kids. although, i had to specifically ask the waitress about them. my husband ordered the breakfast flatbread and it was delicious. i ordered the enchiladas. also, verygoodalbeit very rich. my children (6&7) ordered pancakes only to find out 5 minutes later they were "out of pancakes". ummm, how do you "run out of pancakes???" this meant they decided they didn't want to make any more, although they were still on the menu. not cool. they were also out of doughnuts. again, still on the menu. strike two. we also ordered a side of grits to all share. we are native southerners and know our grits. they were certainly stone ground but just ok. my kids ended up getting the grilled cheese and skillet potatoes.goodbut how do you mess up a grilled cheese? all in all, i was really disappointed in woodberry kitchen. we drove a long way ( through a very bad part of town) ,spent agooddeal of money to eat breakfast and grilled cheese. blah. not going back.

i tried woodberry kitchen for dinner with my family about a year ago and thought it was wonderful, but i’ve also heard great things about their brunch . on a leisurely saturday morning some friends and i headed over to hampden to check it out. woodberry kitchen  is possibly one of baltimore’s most talked about restaurants. trip advisor ranks it as the #8 restaurant in baltimore. all the food is farm to table and woodberry kitchen prides itself on having agoodrelationship with local farmers in the area. woodberry kitchen for parking, they offer a free valet service which is always a nice amenity to offer. inside, the building used to be a warehouse but has been since been converted into a two-story restaurant. interior – photo credit google if you are a picky eater, coming to woodberry kitchen  for dinner might not be a great idea because the menu changes daily. however, the brunch menu is available online. i knew to make a reservation in advance so when we arrived at noon, while it w

agoodexperience. dined here friday night and a really pleasant time. i had heard about these guys for a year now and decided to try them out. i love the fact that the menu features local foods.
i especially liked the cabbage slaw, spicy mustard and smoky potatoes. the drinks were reasonably priced and the ambiance was not overwhelming. all in all, a very positive experience and i will return!

reallygoodfood, but the wait is less than desirable. we had a 7:45 reservation and waited in a crowded vestibule for our table. took forever to get our cocktails. had to send my entree back to be rewarded. all in all the food was very good. randy our waiter was great. just a disconnect between the host staff and the woefully understaffed bar and kitchen staff. great experience though, and plan to go back.

terrific!!!. my wife and i visited baltimore for a long weekend and really wanted to try woodberry. there were no reservations available so we took a chance that we might be able to sit at the bar. we had to wait over an hour......but it was well worth it.

the service was terrific. the bartenders are not bartenders.....they are artists. they really take pride in the drinks they make and each of the cocktails took a multitude of steps. it was very impressive to watch and tastedgoodas well.

everything we ordered was great. had the softshell crab as an app and it was terrific. the bartenders recommended it and they were right on. my wife had the rockfish and i had the braised beef. we loved both dishes. the rockfish had a very crispy skin on it. we had a great time watching all of the action and highly recommend it.

a tid-bit restaurant. woodberry kitchen has an interesting atmosphere. the dining room is in the shell of a former foundry. if you like the exposed brick and old wood look, you will be pleased with your surroundings. the walls are very reflective and the restaurant is very loud.

featuring food from local sources, i selected the tavern steak. as described on the menu:

liberty delight tavern steak
cobbler potatoes, hcc chard, charred padron pepper sauce

for $28 i was expecting a big, special cut of nice rare steak. no, my friends - the tavern steak is actually six or so small pieces of beef adorning a small vegetable pile. my friend who ordered the scallops had a similar lilliputian experience. he asked the server "is this the lunch plate?". another of of my dining partners kindly described her wood-cooked crabcake as "unlike any i have ever had" in a way that was trying to be kind.

the late baltimore restaurant critic john dorsey sometime included in his reviews that no diner should go away from agoodrestaurant hungry. alas, i did not see anyone leaving woodberry kitchen with a take out box.

while many people rave about their delightful little meals, for $280 for four people, i we expected more.

those that get. there are those restaurants that get it, and those that fall short. woodberry kitchen gets it and then some. we tried to eat here for a while but time slots were always too early or late so book far in advance for a friday or saturday night. that tells you howgoodit is before you even dine there. everyone who works there is hip and friendly, the atmosphere is gorgeous: open, high ceilings, warm colors, feels like a converted mill or farmhouse. even though the quality of the structural art, craftmanship and chosen materials to create the ambiance is something to marvel at, the focus is still on the food and drink. and oh my is it delicious. menu changes often so everything is fresh. we went there in june and its august so details may escape me.

we had a jalepeno and corn flatbread to start. perfect crust, cheese was great, everything was fresh. salad was crispy and balanced, fish was cooked to perfection - plump and juicy and did i say fresh? my friends had a roasted pork loin served with an over easy wood-oven cooked egg and i wished i had ordered that--not because i didn't like my fish, but the pork was much more memorable. dessert was one of the best i have ever had (i know i said that before for bluegrass, but i'm really serious!!). i told our server how much i loved it and she said, "good, finish it." basil ice cream with peach pie or cobbler?? all i remember is freaking out about how amazing it was. probably won't be there anyway if you try to order it because they change the menu often but just don't skip dessert, okay?
