favorite so far in b'more. i just moved here in august and so far woodberry is my favorite restaurant by far. not only is the atmosphere chic and cool and the service warm and friendly, but the food is simply outstanding. everything is fresh as can be and perfectly prepared. themenuchanges, but i highly recommend the "snack" of deviled eggs. frankly, give me six of them and that could be the meal for me . . .so so good. we lucked out that we found this restaurant early on . . .the only problem is that everytime we want to go out to dinner, i find myself being pulled for a repeat visit.

described in one word: perfect. this may be the best place i've ever eaten. it's not just the food, which is beyond amazing, but the atomosphere, the waitstaff, and the drinks.
the food is outstanding. truly, it is so good my friends still talk about a dinner from last year. they serve the best popcorn i've ever had in my entire life, and i am a popcorn fanatic!!! yeah, popcorn as an appetizer...get it!!! the eggs with chopped ham are good, too.
every entree is amazing, but i have to say, of all things on theirmenuthe best may just be....the hamburger!!! i have never tasted anything this good that was called a "burger". it's more like ground veal (yes, i know, boo veal...but it's tasty) on a roll that i would eat all by itself. after tasting some of the finest things they offer, everyone i went with was still raving about that burger!!!
the desserts are unique and creative and delicious. i had a chunk, yes a chunk, or dark chocolate on a crust of potato chips, with stout ice cream on top. it was rich creamy and the flavors mixed together better than even peanut butter and chocolate!
one last mention: the drinks!!! if you miss out on a cocktail here you will regret it! they are hands down the best thing i have ever had to drink. they use fresh, local ingredients, and they stand there and make everything by hand...not mixes, no prepared juices or herbs or anything...it's done when you order it. they are worth the price. choose a whiskey smash or a goverment mule and you will wonder why you hadn't been drinking this all your life.
the waitstaff is outstanding. they know their stuff and are eager to help. some of them are a little "too cool" in attitude, but hey, hipsters are everywhere. that would be my only complaint, that, because this place is so good, it attracts both the snooty uptown snob crowd and the rabid hipster crowd. but, i don't have to eat with them, so honestly, who cares. go here!!!

best restaurant hands down!. if you appreciate farm fresh food and local ingredient then you must agree that woodbury kitchen is the best restaurant in town. they use the freshest ingredients and the quality in preparation and presentation is to say the least, top notch.

as a frequent at the restaurant, i consider my utmost favorite as the turkey pot pie. it is so flavorful and delicate that it's hard not to fall in love with every single bite.

themenuchanges according to what's available in the local markets. therefore, the variety of foods to try is in excess.

lastly, if you are looking to have a good time, make sure to order the very famous, governor's mule. it is so enjoyable that you just won't be able to help yourself but feel giddy after a cup, or two :)

i tried woodberry kitchen for dinner with my family about a year ago and thought it was wonderful, but i’ve also heard great things about their brunch . on a leisurely saturday morning some friends and i headed over to hampden to check it out. woodberry kitchen  is possibly one of baltimore’s most talked about restaurants. trip advisor ranks it as the #8 restaurant in baltimore. all the food is farm to table and woodberry kitchen prides itself on having a good relationship with local farmers in the area. woodberry kitchen for parking, they offer a free valet service which is always a nice amenity to offer. inside, the building used to be a warehouse but has been since been converted into a two-story restaurant. interior – photo credit google if you are a picky eater, coming to woodberry kitchen  for dinner might not be a great idea because themenuchanges daily. however, the brunchmenuis available online. i knew to make a reservation in advance so when we arrived at noon, while it w

a good experience. dined here friday night and a really pleasant time. i had heard about these guys for a year now and decided to try them out. i love the fact that themenufeatures local foods.
i especially liked the cabbage slaw, spicy mustard and smoky potatoes. the drinks were reasonably priced and the ambiance was not overwhelming. all in all, a very positive experience and i will return!

was it worth it? in one word… yes! the food and atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for in a night out with friends. someplace slightly upscale without the pretentious snotty feel where we could sit, chat and enjoy each other’s company. our waitress was friendly and patient with our wine ineptness because well, i’m a dummy . the wine she selected for us was perfect! at first glance themenuseemed daunting but when you took a closer look it included many staple items with a fun, creative flare. here’s what i ended up ordering (some items shared.) fried pickles

socially responsible splurge. you should go. the food is all but perfect (the oysters are always perfect - eat them raw and you'll
understand).
the service is usually pretty good. the house-made breads are delicious and fun - usually there's 3 varieties, so everyone can enjoy something. everything is made in the restaurant - i mean the ketchup is house made. they buy whole livestock, not parts. the butchering is done in house. drinks are excellent - get the government mule. ginger lime syrup and (house made) ginger beer and organic vodka and lime zest... so refreshing. sweet, sour, and a little bit of kick from the ginger.

flatbreads are always good, and themenuchanges regularly. try whatever they have on special when you go - i almost always order off the specialmenuand am never disappointed.

as far as i can tell, every effort is made to purchase local and organic products - and this is reflected in the prices. expect to spend over $40/head at dinner. when i go with my boyfriend we usually end up spending around $100 for drinks, apps, entrees, tax and tip. more if you want some dessert, which isn't a bad idea.

food and service were okay, can't say either were great or phenomenal. the kicker is when we ordered a bottle of 2007 frog's leap merlot (2007 being the only year available on themenufor this wine) - an $86 bottle - the server brought out a bottle of 2008 and passed it off as an 07. we said something about the price difference between the two years to our server and were basically ignored - still charged the $86 for the 08 that wasn't on the wine list in the first place. experience left a sour taste in our mouthes and we won't be returning.

those that get. there are those restaurants that get it, and those that fall short. woodberry kitchen gets it and then some. we tried to eat here for a while but time slots were always too early or late so book far in advance for a friday or saturday night. that tells you how good it is before you even dine there. everyone who works there is hip and friendly, the atmosphere is gorgeous: open, high ceilings, warm colors, feels like a converted mill or farmhouse. even though the quality of the structural art, craftmanship and chosen materials to create the ambiance is something to marvel at, the focus is still on the food and drink. and oh my is it delicious.menuchanges often so everything is fresh. we went there in june and its august so details may escape me.

we had a jalepeno and corn flatbread to start. perfect crust, cheese was great, everything was fresh. salad was crispy and balanced, fish was cooked to perfection - plump and juicy and did i say fresh? my friends had a roasted pork loin served with an over easy wood-oven cooked egg and i wished i had ordered that--not because i didn't like my fish, but the pork was much more memorable. dessert was one of the best i have ever had (i know i said that before for bluegrass, but i'm really serious!!). i told our server how much i loved it and she said, "good, finish it." basil ice cream with peach pie or cobbler?? all i remember is freaking out about how amazing it was. probably won't be there anyway if you try to order it because they change themenuoften but just don't skip dessert, okay?

great food! great service! i was skeptical since i don't care for overly fancy food..... first off, i'm a really simple eater. i'm also a creature of habit. if it ain't broke don't fix it. that's how i eat. i can go to the same place for years and only order the same thing because i'm picky, and i don' t want to try something new then end up disappointed and hungry afterward. i'm ok with trying new spots, but if i find something i like there, i'd rather stick with that next time i return. i dislike a lot of common things (cheese, mayo, for example). i eat in order, fries first then burger, and i don't like my food to touch.

i was looking for some place romantic to take my wife. i don't recall what special occasion it was, but i wanted seafood. this place was rated "romantic" and highly rated for food so i gave it a shot.

they provided valet parking at the front door, but after i watched the valet guy nearly peel out in an audi, there was no way i was giving him my benz. the place was quite hidden in my opinion. located somewhere in baltimore that had a bit of a hood feel to it, but this particular location was nice. it felt artsy fartsy. in fact it was connected to an art store of some sort as well.

the place was small and quaint. not too small, but definitely not big. the waitress sat us next to the chefs/kitchen i asked her for something more private. they moved us upstairs. i felt bad because we were the only table upstairs and i didn't want the waitress to have to go up and down those rather long flight of stairs for just one table. but she insisted it was ok.

the food, excellent. i really hate places that are overly fancy, foods you can't pronounce, creations that don't sound like they'd bode well together. this place pretty much did that. there were foods i hadn't heard of, creations that sounded disgusting together.

for example, i had some sort of fish (what kind of reviewer am i, i can't even remember what kind of fish), but it was topped with grits. talk about damn good. i would have never in a million years thought i would like it. but i was very impressed. the taste was a perfect combination. i also had some sort of sauteed brussel sprouts. again, excellent.

by the way, the place had a wooden castle sort of feel. it almost felt like a knight might walk in at any given moment looking for a plate of food. once inside, the place was darkly lit, but the atmosphere grew fairly loud once people started rolling in. i wouldn't exactly call it romantic. especially given the distance of each table from one another. the place supports local businesses, so themenuchanges frequently.

our monthly visit to woodberry.. my husband nathan and i seem to always eat at wooberry at least once a month. with an ever changing menu, there is always endless possibilites on new things to eat.
last night we shared the pretzel and sausage appetizer ($9) that came with a house made honey onion mustard sauce, and aged cheddar cheese with apples. it was amazing, and one person alone could have it as a small meal with a few beers at the bar. nathan had the ham and kale raviolli, while i gave in to finally getting the short ribs instead of something off the special menu. nathan said his dish was quite an amazing, and unexpected pleasant combination. my short ribs were served with beets, and was extremely tender. i also indulge in a hot chocolate that had a roasted raspberry marshmallow on the side. it was all very good!

organic american. you are greeted with a very modern and crisp atmosphere and perfect surroundings. themenuis ever changing based upon the seasons and what is in season. the onlinemenuoffers just a sample of the menu. there are too many wonderful sounding things and it was very hard to pick something.
i started with the orchard pears that were roasted with olive oil and seas salt ($5.00). the pear were perfectly cooked and not mushy or to hard. the salt gave it a nice taste helping pull out the natural juices and sweetness.
for my main course i had the lamb burger ($15.00) that ha d nice spiciness to it. now i have had lamb in the past but never in burger form. i ordered it medium well and it came perfectly cooked (i tend to like my meat medium but when it comes to burgers i like it medium-well to well).
for dessert i had the autumn sundae with candied pumpkin and other fall themed toppings. i could eat this dessert a million times over.
if you are into mixed drinks try some of their drinks- i wasn't drinking that night but i could had a nice time with some of those drinks.
