never order their catering!! i ordered a full sheet cake for a graduation party at a bowling alley. it was delivered over 3 hours early (when no one was there to get it.). and they did not write what was ordered on the cake. i called to speak to a manager to try to fix the problem before the party and they wouldn't help me at all. they were so rude to me. very unprofessional bakery with terrible management. while their cakes are delicious, it isn't worth the i unreliability for an important event.

don't waste your time or money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. management at wheatfields is a joke. no customer service what-so-ever. one of our party members ordered a sangria, she was served a mimmosa. after taking a sip, she asked the server to take the drink as it is not to her liking. when the bill arrived, she was surprised that the mimmosa was still on her tab. she asked the server to have it removed, for which she refused. the manager came over and also refused as it is against their policy to do so. you ordered it, therefore you pay for it. problem is, she ordered a sangria, not a mimmosa, but somehow, that's our fault and we got blamed for taking advantage of the server who doesn't speak or understand english very well. the owner, ron popp, then came out and threatened to call the cops on us for not paying the bill! wow, serious? i stated " it's obvious all you care about is the money in your pocket and not satisfied customers, for which ron flat out agreed and said, "yes, you ordered it, therefore you pay for it, or we will call the cops." are you fricking kidding me? they forced our friend to pay for her drink, for which she didn't order, nor did she drink, accused us of a race card against the server and said, it's people like us that give bad reviews!!! gee i wonder why. amongst name calling and threats, these people are superb at running a business. if you want poor service, to pay for food or drinks you don't like or your server rings in incorrectly and get called names, be accused of being a racist and have the cops called on you then hurry up, go out and support wheatfields, they are the best damn restaurant around!

i will never recommend that anyone ever eat here. i have never been treated so rudely in my life and to be treated like that by the owner of the restaurant. we had to wait an hour and a half for our food. half of our orders were wrong and the food was cold. and never one apology from anyone, only excuses. then they had the nerve to add the gratuity to our bills and when my grandma refused to pay her 90 cent gratuity he threatened to call the cops on her. so don't sit there and tell me that this is america and its my restaurant so i can do what i want because you dick are exactly what is wrong with this country today! i knew we should have left when we were waiting for our table and i heard other people complaining about the restaurant!

horrible experience. i and my family had a horrible experience at wheatfields on 1224 south 103rd st.
omaha,ne today. even with reservations placed 3 weeks ago, we waited 2 hours to
get seated, because of management screw ups.

i called wheatfields on april 16th to make reservations for may 8th at 11:00 for
a party of 12. we arrived early, around 10:45, on may 8th, checked in with the
young lady working the desk that day, at which time she said it would be a short
wait. yes, they were extremely business and after checking a a second time and
being told the same thing "people are done eating but will not get up to leave,
and we would have to wait" we waited. finally, at 12:30 i requested to speak to
the manager, luis, who was busy cleaning off tables came over to find out what
the problem was. it seems that dave-a white haired man, and the young lady
working were seating groups of people who did not have reservations or had
called that morning. they had also allowed a party of 10 walk in and seat
themselves at a table that had been cleared for someone who had made a
reservation. luis, explained to these two employee's that one side of the book
was for those who had reservations and the other was for those who called that
day or just stopped in. they did not get it!!! luis finally was able to move
some tables around and together so that we could be seated. during this time,
while i was standing at the desk, there was another group of 8 who were in the
same situation as my group, and a group of 10 who decided to go somewhere else.
the food was fine and our waitress did the best she could under the busy
situation, however not one person in my party of 12 will ever spend another time
at a wheatfields. maybe you need to revisit your reservation policy, and make
sure that everyone understands what they are. if you policy is not to take
reservations then that should be told to people who are calling ahead of time to
get the reservation.

poor management will indeed dry up your wheatfields.

wheatfields is the worst. i've waited a good few months to share my opinions about wheatfields, more specifically the awful customer service provided by its owner. my family had an unfortunate event where there was confusion with the bill. unknowingly we paid an additional $40 (with tip) for a bill which was not ours. we tried to peacefully resolve this issue with the owner but instead if giving us our money back he tried to offer gift cards. which when you think about it, he is still getting the money at the end of the day. when we kindly refused the offer he said that we weren't going to get anything back now. i found this quite appalling given the fact that at the end of the day, it is $40, and is that more important than customer service?
i did a little math, and between all the times my family eats there when they come in for out of town, the pies and baked goods i bring to events and the goods my husband brings to work outings, we spend close to $1,000 there per year. now you are telling me that $40 isn't worth my family's continued business? good riddance wheatfields. your food has been going downhill for awhile now. your customer service is the worst. and your menu becomes ever more confusing every day. steer clear from this place if you know what is best for you.

i absolutely must commend wheatfields for their dedication to providing gluten free options, i’ve been dining there for years and the selection just keeps growing! they’ve gone out of their way to include gluten free pastries and even cakes, yes cake – the very best cake!

wheat fields is a great place to go with a group if people. their menu is huge so everyone should be able to find something they like. my personal favorite is the ron’s honey fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy l. everything about the meal is fantastic. the chicken has a little bit of sweet to it. i don’t like to eat mashed potatoes at restaurants usually because they just can’t seem to get them right. this place is the exception. the potatoes are great and the garvey is heavenly. also, a noteworthy side are their scalloped potatoes which have a yummy creamy white sauce.

in addition to being a restaurant, wheatfields sells their bakery items. we have often purchased these for family celebrations. the strawberry wedding cake is a well known favorite by many people i know. i also enjoy a number of their pies and their chocolate sour cream cake.

i don't understand why wheatfields has such a following. my first visit here i ordered quiche and the serving was huge however, it apparently was microwaved leaving the crust soggy. i tried another time and ordered a sandwich which was just ok.

the food is just ok, but we usually go there for the bakery. on our last visit my wife had the peach chicken special. it came with a nice long grain rice and stir fried vegetables. my wife really liked it. i had the meatloaf and chicken combo special. it came with mashed potatoes and stir fried vegetables. the meatloaf was just average, the fried chicken was pretty good, but the mashed potatoes were very good, as were the vegetables. we both had the raspberry tea which was very flavorful. most important were our desserts. my wife had the strawberry wedding cake and i had the jack benny cake. we both shared each others and were very happy with both of them. service was very good because we went at non peak hours, at about 2pm. at peak hours service many times suffer due to the large crowds so we avoid peak times. overall usually a enjoyable experience.

found this place tucked around the corner and thought we would give it a chance. everyone in our party of five was impressed the waffles were fantastic, the tuna melt was really good. my husband got the south omaha breakfast and lived it. my son got the lobster benedict and refused to leave until he finished it. this place is a keeper!!

we ate here for dinner last night for my bday and the food was great! home style cooking w a huge menu. i had chicken fried steak and it was delicious! only bad thing i can say about them is.. i had them bring me a cookie and it was hard as a rock, flavor was great but i thought i was gonna break a tooth... for my b day i had a selection of 3 different cake slices for only a $1, we chose wedding cake and it was to die for.. after eating the cake i thought maybe i just got a bad cookie /:
all in all, i will definitely eat here again, definitely a place to bring the family as the menu is so big..
btw i have a family member w celiac disease and they told us they have nothing gluten free despite what the other bloggers have written

wheatfields has a management problem, allowing the host (doug) to treat customers with disrespect and disdain. i'll never go back. and the food is mediocre and overpriced. do yourself a favor and skip wheatfields.

what a horrible experience.  the food was mediocre and the service was extremely bad.  the restaurant is dirty and very cluttered.  the owner... is rude and unprofessional.  don't waste your time or money here when there are so many better options.
