rude owner, needs to learn some manners in the restaurant biz!. this past week i ordered a double layer, 1/4 sheet cake! the cake was clearly too big for the box as it was shoved in. the piping and and icing were smeared across almost three sides. there were indentation marks from the box on two sides. this cake looked like it had rode in the back of car! after complaining to the owner, ron popp via phone. he said there was nothing they can do about it. i stated to him, clearly it was still edible, but i wasn't about to pay $70.00 for this cake looking like this. he told me if i didn't like it, i could purchase two round cakes instead or go buy a cake at hyvee. i literally stood there in shock as i, the customer, was treated so rudely, when even the employees were agreeing with me that cake had taken a beating. i ended my conversation as clearly we were getting no where and he began to raise his voice to me over the phone! the two employees at the counter took the cake to back counter and tried to fix it for me. at that time, the owner called them back and told them, "they were not allowed to even sell me the cake and to take it away from me". he is clearly one of the rudest restaurant owners i think i've ever dealt with. i've been going there for years, but i suggest to everyone, think about where you're spending your money. we have 1000 restaurants in omaha and bakeries all over town, spend your money where it's appreciated. i then attended a birthday party - with no cake, thanks to wheatfields bad attitude!
