wheatfields is the worst. i've waited a good few months to share my opinions about wheatfields, more specifically the awful customer service provided by its owner. my family had an unfortunate event where there was confusion with the bill. unknowingly we paid an additional $40 (with tip) for a bill which was not ours. we tried to peacefully resolve this issue with the owner but instead if giving us our moneybackhe tried to offer gift cards. which when you think about it, he is still getting the money at the end of the day. when we kindly refused the offer he said that we weren't going to get anythingbacknow. i found this quite appalling given the fact that at the end of the day, it is $40, and is that more important than customer service?
i did a little math, and between all the times my family eats there when they come in for out of town, the pies and baked goods i bring to events and the goods my husband brings to work outings, we spend close to $1,000 there per year. now you are telling me that $40 isn't worth my family's continued business? good riddance wheatfields. your food has been going downhill for awhile now. your customer service is the worst. and your menu becomes ever more confusing every day. steer clear from this place if you know what is best for you.

rude owner, needs to learn some manners in the restaurant biz!. this past week i ordered a double layer, 1/4 sheet cake! the cake was clearly too big for the box as it was shoved in. the piping and and icing were smeared across almost three sides. there were indentation marks from the box on two sides. this cake looked like it had rode in thebackof car! after complaining to the owner, ron popp via phone. he said there was nothing they can do about it. i stated to him, clearly it was still edible, but i wasn't about to pay $70.00 for this cake looking like this. he told me if i didn't like it, i could purchase two round cakes instead or go buy a cake at hyvee. i literally stood there in shock as i, the customer, was treated so rudely, when even the employees were agreeing with me that cake had taken a beating. i ended my conversation as clearly we were getting no where and he began to raise his voice to me over the phone! the two employees at the counter took the cake tobackcounter and tried to fix it for me. at that time, the owner called thembackand told them, "they were not allowed to even sell me the cake and to take it away from me". he is clearly one of the rudest restaurant owners i think i've ever dealt with. i've been going there for years, but i suggest to everyone, think about where you're spending your money. we have 1000 restaurants in omaha and bakeries all over town, spend your money where it's appreciated. i then attended a birthday party - with no cake, thanks to wheatfields bad attitude!

horrible!. food was sub par. so many things were disastrous! extremely slow almost non-existant service. 50 minutes from time of arrival to time that the food arrived. hash-browns were a rectangle of inedible gunk. my husband asked for well done toast but it was only "tan" on one edge. the waiter said, "it wasn't toasted at all and i had them put itbackit again." i'm wondering why he couldn't "put it in again" until it's toasted! when the food was delivered part of the order was missing. after waiting a few minutes i had to go summon someone to bring the missing item. i filled out a detailed comment card listing all of the things that went wrong. it has been over a week and no response. owner must not care! there are so many wonderful restaurants in omaha that none of us need to waste time and money on wheatfield's at one pacific place.

impressed. while in town a friend brought us here for lunch. i was impress to find the food was fresh and great tasting. the service was average and the prices we reasonable for quality meals. i’d like to comebackfor breakfast on our next visit to omaha. on a scale of 1 to 5, i’ll give this a 4+.

hotlapeno chicken soup. i have had the jalapeno chicken soup at wheatflelds so many times. it is generally good soup. i bragged about how great it was and assured everyone it was full of flavor and not too spicy. today, i took a friend for soup to bringbackto the office...and it was so hot that you could not even eat it. (one pacific place). i called to let the resturant know and got an apology but we were still unable to eat our lunch. your lips should not burn while trying to eat this soup. very disappointed!

frustrating experience. we had booked the sunroom at wheatfields about six months in advance, and my mother-in-law talked to them several times up until the wedding about food, liquor, being able to decorate the room, etc. but when we arrived at 7pm for dinner, they had seated other patrons in the room we had reserved. it turned out i had a voicemail on my phone from 5:55pm (when we were already in the wedding rehearsal), asking whether we planned to keep our appointment for 6:00. even if we had scheduled for 6pm (which we didn't, we scheduled for 7pm), why would they call to confirm at 5:55 the day of the event??? it was incredibly frustrating and my mother-in-law was devastated that the event she had worked so hard to plan had been forgotten. to the servers' credit, they worked very hard to get the room set up for us (although they had to kick out the poor customers who had already been seated in there!), and the food was very good. but the shocking thing about it all is that they were unwilling to offer any kind of a discount to my mother-in-law, who paid for the meal, even though we had guests standing out in the restaurant for 20 minutes while they reset the room for us and even though all of the specifications she had laid out were completely forgotten. she contacted the owner, ron popp, about a week later to express her frustration, and he basically blew off her complaints and offered nothing in compensation--after this major problem, she still had to pay full price!!! the servers at wheatfields did everything they could to make things right, but no one was held responsible for the error in scheduling that threw off our dinner. although i have always enjoyed the food at wheatfields, i am too angry to gobackafter this episode.

yes!!! - variety. regency pkwy and pacific - dinner - 4.5 people
shopping center

appetizer - none ordered but many of the hot entrees come with a dinner salad. i really like their ranch dressing, it tastes like it has a little pesto in it. salad was a good size for a pre-meal tease and was cold and fresh.

meal - i had to get liver and onions because you just don't see that much. the meat was prepared well, not over cooked but was a little bland. came with a side of corn which was aweful i thought, very bitter and otherwise tasteless and unseasoned, and creme brulee potato which stole the show. they are incredible.
others at the table had beef stroganoff, soup and sandwich, and a dinner salad of some sort that i can't recall. all the meals looked delicious, but we were there fairly early in the evening (7pm or so) and the kitchen had already run out of the type of soup that was requested by our party.

dessert - we took home a serving of cheesecake from the bakery and it was very good. the other pastries also looked delicious and the smell of the pastries and breads was nice from the moment we walked in.

service - waiter was good, but slow. price was fair for the quality of the meal. the atmosphere was friendly, family style and the decoration of the dinning room reminded me of a hunting lodge decorated by grandma.

we enjoyed wheatfields and will gobackagain, the menu has something for everyone and it seems they put a little twist on some very good classic meals.

mmm, mmm good!. wheatfields is an eatery and bakery. breakfast is served all day and night. one interesting tidbit about the place is that it has the neatest names for items on their menu. from the eggstacy sandwich and my big fat greek scramble to crepes aphrodite and after the spa, these dishes have a name that catches any eye.

upon arriving, i was seated right away in one of thebackbooths. there was no line today, perhaps because of the weather or because people were at the taste of omaha. usually, the place is packed. after reviewing the menu for at least 15 minutes and gulping down a delicious cup of coffee, i decided to order the kielbasa and eggs. the dish has two scrambled eggs and a large polish kielbasa sausage. it is served with their yummy ciabatta toast with bumbleberry jam and hash browns - $10.99.

the eggs were scrambled and had an addition of pepper jack cheese on them (i couldn't resist). the kielbasa sausage had a crackling skin and very flavorful inside. it was cooked perfectly. the toasted ciabatta bread with tasty bumbleberry jam is always a favorite of mine and the hash browns were a buttery golden brown. totally a divine breakfast!

alejandro was our server and he was simply outstanding. he took care of our every need and was super attentive. wheatfields has excellent service and the people are so friendly.

upon leaving, i stopped to look at their fresh baked items and couldn't resist buying a pumpkin spice loaf - $4 and an almond pound loaf. their fresh baked goods are delicious and affordable! total win-win today!
